It is totally unbelievable, just how besotted these women and some men are with being in a photo with the horses and Guard. Taking her small child to be next to the horse while a drunk is being sorted by the police. What a wonderful picture for your daughter to remember!
đ
These guards have to be very patient to put up with all these tourist bothering them
They are well trained, highly disciplined and the most attentive that they can be. That said? For this job? They HAVE to be. \
Dealing with the public is rarely fun and games, but this kind of stuff always make my blood boil. The men may be wearing fancy old style uniforms and carrying swords instead of guns, but they are guards. They are there to stand guard. They are not there simply for the amusement of idiots who have never seen a real horse before and they have been attacked before, hence the armed police presence.
Personally? I would not be so polite to people assaulting my horse because that is what many are doing.
So many broken people. But I have to commend the calm and understated way this officer moved the guy on without escalating it into an unnecessary incident. He correctly judged that the man was a nuisance rather than a genuine threat.
â@Klemheist You know him personally?
He's my Grandpa, leave him alone đ
@@shelleylyme6402 is he really Your grandpa?? Ha ha thatâs cute.
In Scotland there are laws against consuming alcohol in a public place.
@@eileenmcgroarty2463 Most town centres have no alcohol zones in the entire UK.
It's not as enforced in some places.
He is definitely not a tourist attraction
No he wasnât, but it is a public footpath heâs on, and he could remained there since he wasnât being a nuisance to anyone.
I think heâs the same drunk man who spooked one of the horses the other week and wasnât quick to move even when the Police told him to move. The horses donât like the smell of alcohol it unnerves them and it puts the horse, the guards and the public at risk. Although itâs on the pavement itâs technically still part of the Horse Guards Parade which makes it a part of the Department of Defence which in turn makes it illegal to âsit/loiterâ on the premises. Apart from that he was drinking alcohol on the premises/street which is also illegal.
@@jmalloy2202 thatâs great but who pays the compo when he gets trampled at the next guard change?
@@j.ksmith7432 whoâs on about being trampled on? I was highlighting heâs on a public footpath and he still got rights. despite undesirable sight of a homeless person, and the guards also of a duty of care among the visiting public, and I think someone mentioned something about horses donât like the smell or alcohol or other smells, Iâd say thatâs not true. because horses scent of smell isnât that good like a dog or cat is.
â@@jmalloy2202 He'd have been in Great danger of being Trodden on by the Horse, if something had made it Act up, like a sudden loud noise, for example. It was mainly for His Sake they told him to move.
No click bait. These police really are fully armed.
Do people not know our history? The Guards
have been targeted in the past and need full
protection.
It does annoy me ( its getting worse as I get older) that people do not only know our history but seem to have short term memory loss of more recent events. shouting and squawking about something that not so long ago the people they support did the exact same thing
Do tell.
@@judyc9380 Back in the 70s and 80s the Kings guards ( or the Queen's guards as they were then) were attacked by terrorists I'm not going to going to much detail here but it was very nasty and involved the lost of men and horses.
@@judyc9380 in July 1982 the IRA planted a car bomb on the South Carriageway, I canât honestly remember whether it was on a timer or was remote controlled, either way it went off just as the Blues and Royals were riding past. It killed 4 Cavalrymen, 7 horses and injured many others. A few hours later a second bomb went off under the bandstand, I think it was Regents Park, the Royal Green Jackets (I think) were playing, 7/8bandsmen were killed and many more injured plus members of the public. Thatâs bad enough but to add insult to injury the bastard who planted the bombs is walking around almost Scot-free. đĄđĄđĄđĄ
I'm not worried if tourists don't know our history, but at least show respect when they visit another person's country.
Drunk with bottle in hand and armed Police confronting him = THEN THIS RIDICULOUS WOMAN TAKES A SMALL CHILD INTO THE DANGER ZONE ??? Unbelievable stupidity đź
People are unbelievably disconnected from their surroundings, itâs incredible!
I often wonder about 'health and safety' rules which demands children wear high viz jackets and helmets everywhere, yet parents just push the children very close to these very powerful horses.
More common sense, please.
â@@pathopewell1814 Common sense died a very long time ago I'm afraid. Very few people possess it.
@@DLC-sy7pp common sense is not THAT commonđ.
@@jo-annbastings Indeed. It should be renamed 'Uncommon Sense'. That would definitely confuse everyone!
I was going to say the old guy looked drunk, then he pulled out a bottle!
The horse comes first.đ
Police are usually armed in places that could possibly be targeted by terrorists. Transport hubs also have armed police when we are on high security alert.
That ridiculous woman is the child's grandmother!! Even worse!!
At least the guy drinking has a reasonable excuse for getting so close.
The ignorance of some of these attention seeking picture hunters is remarkable.
Why are people calling the tag click bait? Armed police were called upon to remove an inebriated gentleman. Thats what happened.
It's only somebody who doesn't realise that not ALL police are armed in Britain so thinks saying 'armed police' is click bait. Just ignorant.
He could of been ill, drunk, had dementia. What is the problem with people? Family, friends?
Empathy is dead, along with common sense.
Ignorance and evil rule.
I was shocked at the bike rider at the beginning of the video. Thought he was going to check on fellow, not take photo and pose!
This is my favorite horseâŠbeautiful tempermentđŽđ
Donât know how I got this. But Iâm sure the horses name is Nigel. But yes heâs my favourite too, and Arnie who stands no nonsense lol
@@MsDiddleydo Nigel âŠThank You!đ»
I think the cop was telling him not to smoke next to the horse. A spark could blow over or the smell of smoke could scare the horse. I thought walking around drunk with an opened bottle of liquor was illegal.
No. Anyone can walk around drunk....but not disorderly
We do have laws but foreigners think we dont. We have an open society
They need to put the barriers around the horse and guard to stop the tourists
i wasn't aware you were allowed to drink in public
Has that "karen" finally left the building....đđđđđnow we got a sitting tourist
Isnât he the same guy who was drunk a
few days ago and was told to stand clear
because the horse was freaking and he
was upset to be shouted at, he didnât
realise it was for his safety as well as the
soldier trying to calm the horse.
At least his outfit matches
He looked quite clean and neatly, if rather oddly, dressed. He wasn't harassing people or making a fuss. The police were, unusually for the UK, armed because it's a high-security area, but the guns weren't pointed at him.. This looks like them just going "OK sunshine, time you was moving along". He got up unaided and moved along. Just another bit of community policing in old London town.
Sad, just sad!
Kenny strikes again
Harmless it seemed but not a pleasant sight is it, drinking smoking and near the Horsecand Gaurd.
Well done Cops đđ
I thought he was a replacement for Karen who seems to have got the message at last đđ
Probably her husband. She said he was a fine figure
Maybe that's Karen's boyfriendđ
You mean Sandra Wilson. Google her like I did . Complete insanity.

The articles written that included Members of the Guard that were responsible for Princess Dianaâs coffin. It was very hot and very heavy. They were so dedicated and aware of their duty.
Why didn't the Police take his alcohol away and arrest him
Boris Johnson's dad has let himself go...
Dosser on the ground showing us up!
Hope the senior citizen is fine.
He Doesn't Look Fine. So red in the face, and So thin. It's Heartbreaking to see someone in this state, and seen All too often, sadly.
"Showcasing the very best of British tradition đŹđ§" in this case drunk vagabonds sitting around at Horse Guards.
I understand that the armed police are MOD (Ministry of Defense) police & not (London) Metropolitan Police. They may not have arresting authority which is why they do a lot of talking to people. When culprits are arrested, it is by the Met Police, the ones with the tall helmets, as has been shown in videos previously. The MOD police are there for security and protection of the mounted guards. The mounted police are part of the Met mounted patrol. Mounted officers are very effective at crowd control and maintaining order. Who's going to argue with a horse of several hundred pounds? Being talked to by a mounted officer from a height & out of striking distance is less confrontational.
Why didn't the Police react to this immediately.?
Because they are bone idle MOD plod. Good at showing off their multiple belts full of crap and a tazer they will never use.Any problems they just mither the Met.
Why?
The old man Wasn't Doing Anything bad to anyone, he was just sitting in a place Way too close to the horse guard.
I recognise the woman at 2.25. She had sunglasses in the previous video. Same jacket. She went up to standing Guard Ellis, with a look of wonderment and stared. Ellis very slowly turned his head to stare at her as if to say, âerm, yes, what do you want.â Almost like a comedy! She looked embarrassed and left!
How long do the hourse have to stand for
One hour at a time.
there's a little rolling gate there, they should use that so the people cant get close to the horse, although its a sidewalk, it should be ok to cordon off the animals and guards.
Is je one of the silent protesters that are being a nightmare in London. Gone from glueing their hands to the rd to stop traffic to walking slow infront of traffic.
Itâs a Monty Python Sketch lol
People are not allowed to drink alcohol in the street here Scotland
He thought he was in a pub, lmao!
No good calling the police they couldnât control a kids birthday party.
How can he be allowed to walk away staggering obviously drinking alcohol from a bottle? Not the crime of the century I know but I thought it was illegal to be drinking alcohol on the streets. I stand to be corrected.
They should have called the normal police to take him somewhere safe.
Not a crime at all
@@wwg1wga291 Yes thankyou for correcting me. A little research by me would have told me that.
Heâs not behaving in a way that is antisocial or intimidating in public and this isnât America .
That's a water bottle
Very disrespectful in regards to people taking their pictures so close to the horse. They think they own them.
Just lucky that they donât get kicked or bitten
Hopefully many do.
Alcoholic thatâs about it
It wasnât appropriate for him to sit there .
I donât understand how the guy was allowed to walk away drinking out of an open bottle. Maybe he was staggering & being loud & swearingđ€·đ»ââïžHope all turned out well.
Whyâd the police disturb old Diogenes from his spot?
I'd say," move a long you old git. Go get pissed elsewhere." I'm American. Bet he'd understand me and be puzzled too...lol
Can you believe how long it took for police to show?
This is a bad performance for the police! Never around when needed!! What's it's going to take for police to do their Job?
Yes not good for safety matters! What with all these knife and Gun killings going on these days.. Also he looks out of place for a family photo with the horse ohh yeh and the gard...
Royal regiment of paraffin lamps
How can you walk around drinking and drunk on the streets? In the USA they would lock you up and throw away the key.
Just what you want in your vacation photos, a drunk. âčïž
Go elsewhere then.
Partout dans le monde, les gens sont aussi débiles.
Poor man, u find one in every cityđ
Sadly Alice you are right and in the UK Approx. 5-6 % are former HM Forces veterans and in the 1990's the figures were 20% of the Total homeless in London, but the Forces Charities are finding it hard to find out the correct numbers due to they way information is not allowed to be shared. I have and do a lot with Veterans Charities to try and support these Guys and Gals who have fallen on hard times. We would like it to be Zero % but it will never be that but we would like to help them
Sadly in UK cities, you find a lot more than one , situation getting worse not better.
Only ONE ? Look again. I think you'll be Surprised, and it's Every City, the World Over.
Still celebratingđđ

Most brits actually don't drink. Go Google it.
Took the police long enough to deal with this drunken piece of rubbish! I suppose they were standing around chatting to each other as usual
He Wasn't harming Anyone but Himself. They moved him so he wouldn't get Trampled by the horse.

He Wasn't Disturbing Anything, he was just in the Wrong place, which is Why they asked him to move along.
He's sitting there quietly enjoying his drink, and hoping for a donation. He's not even asking for anything.
How is he disturbing the peace?
Why does it take your videos so long to get to the point?
Police are always armed. Click bait much?
Not in Britain
Not in the UK theyâre not.
The "beat cop" as you call them, don't walk or drive around armed.
Only those specifically trained are armed & then not all the time, they carry their weapons in the boot (trunk) of their cars & only "tool-up" when called upon to do so.
Under normal conditions, the "bobby on the beat" & an Armed Response copper are indistinguishable.
Are you one of the few people who don't know that police in Britain are not routinely armed. It takes three years to train to be a police officer (two if you already have a degree) and even then you won't be armed. You have to undergo specific rigorous training in firearms before you can work for an armed unit and carry guns. These units guard specific places like this or can be called on quickly in an emergency.
no they are not, the only police that are armed are . oh yea the armed police,... they are there own unit, and the MOD police, i have seen armed police once in my life
Where is The Danger Zone !
Wy don't thay arrest him
