5SOS and The Chainsmokers when on tour together in 2019 so they did this every night on tour.

Luke is a beast of a lead singer but Calum's vocals (the bass) oh dear, it hits me so much. I love his second verse!
That's interesting, the thing you said about Michael (guitarist) being more comfortable singing than Calum. Michael doesn't have a solo very often. Calum, however, sings a lot more. I consider him the second lead, because he will always sing backing vocals for Luke.
In general, Calum is more reserved and calm on stage and off stage, so I agree with you. But he's definitely not as high energy in this performance as he usual is.
Michael is always high energy so this is normal for him haha
I can't even imagine how hard 2 drummers playing at the same time is, especially live. I say that but they did a drum cover of this song, with 2 drum sets and it's mind-blowing. You should check it out, just search "who do you love drum cover ashton irwin matt mcguire". I also found out there is a video where you only see his drums live and it's so interesting!
5SOS uses a backing track. I have not noticed it at the 2 live concerts that I've been to but they definitely have one in the background. From the live performances that I've seen online, the backing track are instruments that they don't play (violins, etc) or additional harmonies or guitar parts to make the song feel fuller.
Amazing reaction, as always, looking forward to more 5SOS! And yes, 5SOS toured with the Chainsmokers in 2019.

I think your confused on band members, this sound is totally 5 second of summer, that’s why it’s suck a heavy live sound, the chain smokers are not the ones that are presenting prominently. I’d even argue that 5SOS could do this song well without them
