As the sons of offshore racing legends, Florida’s Nick Imprescia and Brit Lilly of Maryland were-figuratively speaking at least-born to enter the sport of powerboat racing. Imprescia studied at the knee of his dad, Joey Imprescia, a multi-time world championship-winning throttleman. Brit Lilly was inspired to enter powerboat racing by his pop, Art Lilly, a renowned throttleman who also earned several world titles during his long and illustrious career. But while both young men couldn’t help but follow in the footsteps of their famous fathers, they are blazing their own trails and creating legacies of their own. Imprescia is a rookie this season in the fast-growing 450R Factory Stock class with the 151 Express team. Lilly, who alternates with motorsports great Travis Pastrana in the cockpit with throttleman Steve Curtis, is in his third season with the Class 1 Huski Chocolate/Huski Ice Spritz team.
