Before bashing Owen against the wall remember first what he did for us, all the trophies he won. He was a major player in our 5 trophies winning 2000/01 season. Also, he first left for Real in 2004, then Newcastle and afterwards at Man Utd in 2009. He wanted a PL title. You can't blame him that bad.

I was gutted when Owen left and he did negotiate a free transfer away while pretending to be interested in renewing his contract for Liverpool. Having said that he gave his all in every match he played for Liverpool, helped us win a few trophies, and speaks well about the club. I don't regard him as highly as Fowler and certainly nowhere near as highly as Gerrard, but I forgave him long ago and can enjoy the memories he helped to create without any hard feelings.
I would love to hit non stop volleys like this but I don't have enough balls and friends :(

I think all the Liverpool fans got to give Owen a break. He wanted to play football, he was pining for a move back to Liverpool. Benitez said no. No other top I wanted him after his injury, Utd came in, he wasn’t going to say no. No player would in Owens position. A career plagued in injuries, the guy deserved some happiness jeez. He gave his best years and his legs for you guys. Liverpool ruined the teenager and you guys give him stick.

I have no issue with Owen joining Utd, we sold him to Real Madrid then when he came back Liverpool didn’t want him, Newcastle did then Ferguson took a punt on there being some gas left in the tank. Football is a job for these guys and you have to maximise your income before you retire
