Morgan, glad you found the video helpful. Thanks for the comment.
Many thanks, been searching for "how long does it take to get varifocals made" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Rayemiron Uncommunicative Release - (do a google search ) ? It is a smashing one off product for discovering how to improve your eyesight naturally without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my co-worker got great results with it.
After almost an hour of trying to get the damn screw back into these glasses I go to CZcams and you save my sanity. Thanks

A Small Horse, happy to help you, thanks for your kind comment. If you know of others who might find my videos useful feel free to share.
don't feel bad -- my father never taught me this ;)
Thank you! Crawled on hands and knees for a hour looking for the screw. Then tried some replacement screws I had and couldn't get them to fit. Found this video and worked like a charm! You saved the day!

Amira, thanks for the feedback. Glad this video helped your cousin!
Thank you so much. Just tried this to avoid buying a package of 500 online to get the right size (they're all different, ouch) and it worked so easily. Really quick chap repair that feels exactly right when I put them on. Love learning new hacks that are REAL, thank you from Scotland 🏴
Rebecca, you're welcome. I really love Scotland. Heaven on Earth...
Works perfect! Beats trying to get a tiny screw lined up and tightened. Thank you!
Glad this worked for you. It is easier than the screws, and stays in place forever. At least that's my experience. Thanks for your comment.

Thank you for sharing this! My son's glasses had a screw come out and I have the eyeglass kit to repair with another screw, but I couldn't get that tiny screw to align and go in properly. This is a much easier and simpler solution. Again. Thank you!
Kathryn, thanks for leaving a comment, glad my video helped you.
Thank you so much! I will be going to a face to face meeting tomorrow and the screw of my glasses was gone. Decided not to go anymore and have a meeting via zoom instead but then I decided to watch tutorials on youtube and there you go. I found your video. 😊 Thanks again. 😊
1 Minute of MasterChef, you're quite welcome. Glad my video helped you.
Big thank you!! My cats recently broke my glasses and for some reason the hole to insert the screw through would no longer line up so the screw was useless. I had a mental breakdown as these are my only pair of glasses but then I can across your videos. The paper clip method is genius!!! I found one that fit perfectly and now the arm attaches on more securely than before. ❤️
Babynesquick, glad my video helped you. Cats can be tough sometimes. Thanks for taking time to leave me a comment. Much appreciated.
Awesome 👍 simple way to fix prescription glasses fast and easy. I’ve been struggling all day trying to put in new screws and figured I’d do a search here. Perfect, and it reminded me of my high school years in the 80’s when I used to use an actual paper clip and everyone would laugh at me and call me nerd. Well who’s laughing now. This is genius and it works. So happy to come across this video. It will save me from paying a professional to fix my glasses now.
Thanks AC, glad my video could save you some money.
Holy! This changed my life. Thanks a lot!!

JHM Stagg, thanks for the feedback. My channel has many more helpful hints beyond this one.
Thank you so much for this video! I just lost a screw from my glasses and the replacement didn't fit. You just bought me some time until I get a new pair!
Valerie, you're welcome. Its amazing how many people like you have commented back on this video. Makes me happy.
That's pretty clever. I have a pair with a loose screw that doesn't screw back in properly and flush, not sure why. Do you have any suggestions, should I replace the screw? I don't want to make one of these D things unless the screw falls out. I did buy a eye glass repair kit with extra screws, so that's the first option, if the screw falls out.
Sylvan, up to you. Since you have the repair kit you might as well try that first. But this paper clip approached has helped many, and if done correctly will outlast your glasses, for years to come.

I didnt have pliers available but still insanely helpful, i couldnt get the d since i didnt have pliers but i was able to it bend a bit and rig it to work despite that very helpful idea
Peter, glad to hear my video helped. Thanks for taking time to leave a comment. It helps everyone!
you can go to walmart. they will fix the screw for free. they don’t have to be bought from walmart either
@@ariesradke6193 thanks for another suggestion. When this happens to me two things typically happen, I'm no where near a Walmart, or its not open. Especially during these COVID times when they have reduced hours.
Actually works fixed my sunglasses and I'm 11
MiniTeam 10, glad it worked for you. Thanks for the feedback.
You just saved my life my screw just came off and I have a job interview that I had to drive to and I was going to have a panic attack until I saw this video 😭
Johanna Lopez, I'm glad my video helped you out. Hope your interview was successful. Thanks for taking your time to leave me a comment.
Nobody's going to fault you for having broken glasses in a job interview
eyescreamcake she has to *drive* so thats dangerous-
excellent, thank you, saved me a few quid ££
iggy mitchell, glad my glass video helped you, stay safe out there in the UK?
Hey where do I put the paper clip in as mine doesn’t seem to have the outwards thing as shown in your video
Sorry if that didn’t make any sense, I tried my best aha
Daza, no problem, if there is a slot or hole that uses a screw this technique has worked for me every time, with dozens of glasses. If your glasses have a hole, I'm not sure this will work.
I dont have papaer clips and the arm of my glasses broke and the screw is lost so any other tools
you could try thin wire like a twist tie.
Just spent an hour trying to fix my glasses with original screw, ended up using super glue 😵💫 wish I had seen this video before I started!!!
Richard, let me know how the super glue works. My channel is filled with all sorts of fix it videos you might find helpful.
@@MakeItorBreakItNow now glued and screwed🤓👍
I wish this were for wire frame glasses. I need to be able to tighten that area down to hold the lense in place.
Barbara, Interesting challenge, let me ponder it a while and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the comment.
@@MakeItorBreakItNow Thanks. I did end up doing something similar to what you showed, except I managed to tighten the wire to hold it together. I’m not sure how long it will last because I used a softer wire.
@@barbaraness4507 looks like you got it to work. Look forward to hearing what you longer term experience is. Are you holding the lens in place with wire all around? Hard to tell without a picture.
Worked a treat, thanks.
nkt1, glad it worked for you. Thanks for the feedback.
Why doesn’t this video have more likes
Chris Pierre, very good question. Thanks for leaving a comment.
Can I use a safety pin instead?
backwards, certainly in an emergency situation, but unless its really small the pin may be a distraction or it could be a fashion statement. Let me know how it works out for you.
Thank you... I needed this urgently.
God bless you
Nelly Esendi, I'm glad the video helped you. Thank you for the feedback and kindness.
I'd like to try this kind of repair on a different part of the frame. Frames are wire-rim, and the screws which close the frame around the lens are worn. Have you tried this method as a way to close the frame?
Mike, I've tried it on several kinds of wire frames, including Ray Ban aviators and it has worked for me, depending on the frames you may need thinner/smaller paperclips.
Thanks for this video - I was tearing my hair out trying to put a screw in the glasses legs - saw this video and used the d-ring technique - as you say, better than new!
brodyquixote, glad the video helped you. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, much appreciated.
Is there any other way I can cut the paper clip
Basito Basito, pliers, some scissors, once time I just bent the paperclip back and forth until it broke off so that works. Thanks for your question.
The thing is i have the screw but it wont screw back in at all and idk what to do
Ashlyn, this has happened to me too and I go back to this paperclip solution. Never worry about the screws again.
Nice video for most people, but my glasses are different. Not only do the screws in my glasses hold the arms on, they also hold in the lenses into the frame. The screws must be tight or else.
Michael, valid point, I guess this won't work for every case.
I used a bread twist tie
Not bad, how long did the thinner wire last?
Where do you find a paper clip that thick XD
Any store that caries offices supplies has a variety of paper clips sizes. Here's a link to where you can get them online: amzn.to/3WDbf1v
Thank u i agree the D is better. 😎😊💯

my life philosophy "make it or break it"
Nice to see others agree, welcome to the team.
Why won’t the holes line up plz help
Vincent, I'm not sure, if you move the hinge point back and forth eventually the two pieces align. Depending on the glasses you may need a smaller or larger wire.
grippy slip matt is a necessary 'tool' for this to work
not always, but it looks cool...
Thanks I just fix my glasses
A H glad the video helped you out.
