    As many have mentioned in the comments below. Healing factor actually takes from your food stores, So will consume your hunger bar faster to get this healing. I will be rethinking this one down the road for sure! I still think it is crazy valuable personally!
    edit:
    So I did some testing on Natural Healing. It DOES NOT add additional regeneration but reduces the time between regen gained. By default without any points in to anything you regen 1 HP every ~58 Seconds. At the same time you lose 1 point of your Food (Hunger) rating every ~38 seconds. By adding 1 point in to natural healing you decrease the time between HP regen down to every 35 seconds. This in turn makes you lose 1 point of Food (Hunger) every ~28 seconds. This scales up the more points you put in to it, so more points = Faster HP Regen but also faster Food (Hunger) loss. I will still be using Healing Factor as a skill, but do take caution. With 1 point invested you gain essentially a ~35% buff to your natural HP regeneration but take a ~35% penalty to your hunger drain or food loss. Pretty fair trade imo, but of course if you are having troubles with food this will only expand on that issue.

      It's among the most useless skills in game. Food already has healing properties so that extra few percent will just slow you down the first week

    In A21 deer were practically fallout out of trees they were so abundant. In 1.0 the animals are much more scarce. I think the first skill to buy is 'Animal Tracker' level 1 from the Perception tree. Then you won't starve.
    Parkour Level 2 is the most important skill in the entire game IMO. It allows you to jump over fences to escape your enemies (or to jump over your enemies themselves).

    The biggest challenge to early progression in 7d2d is the book system. You need to read a certain number of books in order to craft the next level of tools/crafting stations/weapons. Finding the books for tools and crafting stations specifically, can be rather arduous and painstaking, especially considering how small the towns are in the forest biome and burnt forest biome. Every search counts. I recommend a few early game options to assist in finding these books specifically. IN the intellect tree, I would recommend getting 2 points in Advanced Engineering and 2 points in Grease Monkey. In the Strength tree, Miner needs 2 points as well. In the Salvage tree, Salvage Operations as well. This will increase the odds of finding the books necessary to upgrade your crafting stations and tools. Weapons are almost moot until mid to late game as quest rewards and traders typically sell higher level weapons and it's easier to get dukes than it is to rely on luck and looting. Remember, you can respec your points. Once you get a 4 X 4 built and modified, you don't need those points in Grease Monkey any longer.

    afaik putting one point into lock picking early on can be huge as I am pretty sure it increases the rate at which forge ahead books are found in loot which gets you the workstations more early on

    • @gdgd5194
      @gdgd5194 Před měsícem +3

      It's even better to spend 2 points on locks. It was enough to unlock all locked chests that I ran into even without lockpick crafting.

  • @Skizzo321
    @Skizzo321 Před měsícem +5

    I always skip any combat skills for my first four. Mine Are: Iron Gut, Master Chef, Lockpicking and absolutely all above else: Salvage Operation.
    You will always be looking for that wrench thanks to the RNG. With just four magazines and you can assemble one, and I can normally have one crafted by day one, mid-day 2 at the latest if the trader does not have any forged iron. I will normally search all cars for an engine, and that'll give me the mechanical parts I need for the tool.
    Then its wrenching all night at cars and AC Units for those sweet-sweet radiators. Scrap them into brass to sell at the trader (5 radiators is 987 brass.) Headlights and stacks of oil are big bucks too. Your later-self will thank you for that stockpile of iron pipes, scrap polymers, scrap iron, mechanical parts, springs and electrical parts.
    After the wrench is acquired: Its Agility combat for bladed weapons and handguns because toilet pistols and poo-knives exist.

    Juicebags! I loved your OMD content, I didn't know you played 7 Days to Die. One point into lock picking will boost your chance to find Forge Ahead books so you can build worksatations. I find in this update quest rewards are poor, the main use of Daring Adventurer is that the trader will stock better items, so if you're on stone tools the trader will have iron. Healing factor isn't free health, it takes from your food stat, so avoid if you've not got a regular supply of food or you could find yourself starving. Miner 69er also reduces power attack stamina, this also seems to work for your melee weapons, and it increases chances of finding Art of Mining Books. Totally agree on Parkour, being able to jump over/on to a fence or jump over a zombie will save your life if you get trapped!

    As the happily designated farmer in 7d2d, I'm so happy because I drop the first points into better stamina, lower for and water drain, healing, less stun, and increased harvesting.
    I'm just having an easier time to start with plus immediate increase in our food in the first couple of days - plus it's great to go sell hundreds of dollars worth of flowers at that time.
    Just call me "Most Helpful Player" those first few days 😅

    Healing Factor isn't as good as you might think and it terrible for beginning game. This is NOT advertised and SHOULD be. But, TFP are TFP after all. When hit, the healing isn't free it's pulled from your food pool. Not good when your search for that precious cooking pot, meat and eggs isn't going as fast as you'd like. You have been warned.

    • @snottytoe6957
      @snottytoe6957 Před měsícem +5

      It does hint at it quite a bit. says you have a fast metabolism, and says that self healing does not work if you are starving.

    • @robguy8501
      @robguy8501 Před měsícem +1

      There's also a default amount of healing factor, around 1hp/60seconds. So the first point will almost double your natural healing rate but it isn't the different between having it and not.

    • @MrJuicebags
      @MrJuicebags  Před měsícem +4

      I personally normally follow Trader Quest progression. So that first cooking pot is always a rough time with my RNG :P However, that is more about the Water than the Food since I am pumping out the trader quests. With 1 point in it's basically a wash, you gain a 35% buff to your natural healing rates and take a 35% penalty to your hunger Food Drain. For me personally running the quests and sadly taking more damage than I would like to admit healing is more valuable than food. So actually better early game than late game imo. Of course with 5 points in your natural healing just screams, but sadly so does your Hunger Bar / Food Meter. I normally go with just the 1 point to keep me relatively healthy so I can zerg through to tier 2 / 3 quests very quickly.
