    So I have had my bike for four years and randomly watched this and realized I missed the mesh filter everytime. I appreciate you making this so now I'm more educated on my own machine. Luckily only a few small metal shavings in there and the rest was extremely clean. I change my oil often it's very cheap.

    A trick to get the oil out of the filter housing. After you drain the case. With the key off. Hold the decomp lever and slowly kick it over 3-5 times. It will pump most of that oil out so it won't spill when you pull the filter cover off.

    Helpful video. Lost your voice volume a few times so a little difficult to interpret but otherwise a good how-to.

    hey man good vid ! what is your technique to check the oil level on the dipstick ? I changed my oil and filter like you did and didn't had a reading till 1800 ml. it is really hard to have a good reading. I let the bike run at idle for like 5min and started to have kind of a reading. The manual says 3 min, it doesn't even showed a little bit of oil after 3 min.... When you change oil on your dr350, do you check the oil or just poured 1900 ml ? thanks for the vid still !!

      Usually I pour about the right amount, then let it run for 5-10 minutes and finally check the dipstick.

      @@foil666 yeah 10 minutes makes sense, thanks for the quick answer. Anyways, I'm pretty sure that that if the dealership would have change my oil, they would have poured 1900 ml and not even check. Sad thats thats it's complicated to check the oil on that bike.

      I got it from a local shop really cheap. I vaguely remember the brand being something from hp racing...I think.

    How much oil does it take when you only drain the frame reservoir?

    • @foil666
      @foil666  Před 4 lety

      Should be around 1.7 liters.

      Yes, I use 10w40.

    Do you have to remove the skid plate to get to the bottom drain plug?

    • @foil666
      @foil666  Před 5 lety +3

      There's a notch in the skidplate to avoid that. But you need to remove it to get at the mesh filter.

    O óleo do motor também vai para o quadro?

      Sim. O quadro serve como depósito de óleo, além de ser o único sítio por onde é possível acrescentar óleo.

      @@manuelc7517 De momento é o que tenho feito com ela. Além das deslocações diárias, bastantes passeios na estrada e fora dela. Tenho cerca de 12,000km, sendo muitos deles fora da estrada.
      Até agora, a nível de problemas, basicamente não tive nenhum. Apenas troquei óleo, filtro, peças de desgaste, como pastilhas,um disco traseiro, corrente, etc.
      Recomendo para utilização não muito agressiva fora de estrada (mesmo que de vez em quando o faça), principalmente devido ao peso. Não é pesada, mas pesa muito mais que uma 250 moderna.
