Since there are omnipresent these days and everyone seems to have at least one designers item, they simply seem cheap to me. Also, it’s a matter of how people wear these items and only few really know how to style them, what cheapens them even more in my opinion. I agree with everything except the following: Oran Sandals. Those are just classic wardrobe staples. Just as the YSL Tribute is their signature slide, that’s also a staple. I still see plenty of women wearing their Orans. True, it’s been counterfeited and duped a lot. However, it’s still a classy shoe that looks nice with pretty much everything you pair with it, which is why it’s still popular. Next, Valentino Rockstud. The Rockstud has become “the face of Valentino “, just as The Speedy is the face of LV. Recently, in Harper’s Bazaar, they spoke of how the Rockstud has become a classic that has reached timeless status. The Rockstud had super high sales for 2023, which is why it’s back front and center for 2024. Did you know Valentino makes the most money off The Rockstud line? I sold the pair I purchased many years ago and went to purchases another pair because I fell back in love. I still see them often. They look timeless to me and I get why Valentino has made it a focal point in its collections. Lastly, the Burberry Nova Check Print. You kinda lost me on this one, sis. Burberry created the Nova Check print. They literally have the patent on it. 😂 It belongs to the. That is their signature print! Also, Burberry is one of the leading “quiet luxury” designer houses, along with The Row. You see their print and you already know what time it is! Their pieces are elegant and do not scream money at all. I do own the Nova Check scarf and get tons of compliments when I wear it during the cold months. I also have. Burberry trench that gets tons of compliments. These are considered classic, staple pieces that always elevate your look. But to call it lazy of Burberry to always display their Nova Check, which is the logo of their brand, is a bit much. 😂 Just as the lion head is the logo of Versace. Do you feel Valentina Versace is lazy for displaying her logo as well? Anyway, I do understand it’s your perspective and you are entitled to your opinion. So, I respect it. Even though your perspectives are very humorous though.

Daniel Lee was the worst choice, his Catholic Bombastic approach is the opposite of Old Money quiet luxury WASP-y that Burberry was beloved for. BELOVED. He's trying to turn B into 2015 Supreme but an Anglo brand is the polar opposite to the Italians like BV. I really wanna love them but the old beige looks tired, like, NO new colours? Not an icy blue, racing green, lavenders for y2k lovers but traditional, he is just so creatively barren it makes me sad. I wish they got the lady who took over from McQueen, Sarah Burton I think? SHE would've made it amazing again. Not afraid of lace and beading either. Just SOMETHING.

There are a lot of people who would like to say that, but it's not like that. Some things don't sell well, others do. When I'm in the store, I also see how other people buy handbags. They are also well attended. Dior also has a lot of things without a logo. People buy both with and without a logo.

I absolutely adore VCA. I think even the classics which weren’t mentioned in this video, such as the chanel classic flap, cartier love/tank/panthere, etc. all have many knockoffs and items that are heavily “inspired” by them. Usually, anything that is desirable or worth wanting will be knocked off. VCA is extremely classic, timeless, and the epitome of femininity imo. It’s my own personal opinion, but I think the Cartier love has reached overdone/tacky status (much less so than VCA Alhambra). Even so, many people enjoy the Cartier love which has its own appeal being a very classic bangle with clean lines and an easily stackable piece. All in all, as others have said, if you truly love something - don’t listen to what others say! Enjoy what you love and don’t subscribe to quick trends unless you really want to. Style should be about what speaks to you.

I actually love my Balenciaga pieces but not because they bare the name Balenciaga. I actually like their designs and appreciate them beyond their season. The Crush Tote is my favorite purse because it's hilarious and beautiful and always strikes up a conversation about how screwed up luxury fashion has become. Also the 10XL sneakers are my most comfortable shoes followed by the HardCrocs and the Bouncers. I really love the few pieces I have and think it's ridiculous to throw them out over the ad scandals (abhorrent as they were). If we want to go that route, that's fine. But we need to completely cancel every single brand under Kering. And while we're at it cancel Calvin Klein. We all seem to have completely forgotten the 90's, huh? And every single brand that's collaberated with Balenciaga has to go as well. So no Adidas or Gap or Under Armour or Yeezy. And better yet stop watching The Simpsons as well.
It's just going too far. I'm not getting rid of my purse or my shoes.

I stopped buying luxury handbags when everyone and their mothers caught on. If you have a great sense of style and good taste, you know and can feel when something starts looking cheap. Once it's offered to the masses and mass-produced, you know to stay away from it. I am 60 and my first designer bag was the LV satchel circa 1979 when I was 16 years old. Back then, girls my age didn't have a clue on any luxury brands. I still have it and now it is vintage. It is better than any of the latest LV bags offered in various styles/designs and materials.
I also have the classic Chanel 2.55 black quilt bag purchased in 1990 so I suppose it is also vintage.
I loved Kate Spade (I know, she's not at the Luxury level) for her whimsy designs back in the early 1990’s. I love all the unique pieces I have of KS, but once she sold her company, it was over. Cheap hard leather was being used for her handbags so I am no longer a fan. Ditto for Coach. I love the pieces I have from the 70’s and 80’s but never purchased anything after those pieces.
My point: you know when to stay away. I am on board with quiet luxury; it’s the quality, design (classic), materials used that matter. Check out Shiv from Succession.
