      @CZcams Moderator You don't know history. The truth of American political history bears out beyond the shadow of a doubt that conservatives and right wing extremists always have been, still are, and always will be both the greatest villains, and greatest threat to American liberty, democracy, and truth.

    • @scorpioking280
      @scorpioking280 Před 3 lety +1

      @CZcams Moderator Obviously you haven't bothered to look or learn what's beneath the surface of what you've heard or been told. The Democrats of the Civil War era were conservatives, while Lincoln and the Republicans of the Civil War era were liberal progressives. So yes, the conservatives seceded from the Union, assassinated Lincoln, and formed the KKK; while the liberal progressives saved the Union and freed the slaves. And as far as history goes, Eisenhower was the only legitimately competent Republican president in the last 100+ years, going back to Teddy Roosevelt, a progressive Republican. EVERY Democratic president has been far better than any Republican president, with the only exceptions of Teddy Roosevelt and Eisenhower. Try cracking open a history book and reading about history instead of listening to those revisionist crackpots on the far right.

    • @scorpioking280
      @scorpioking280 Před 3 lety +1

      @CZcams Moderator Wrong. I'm spot on. It's this thing called American history, which you obviously have not bothered yourself to learn about. Since the Civil War, the two parties have swapped ideologies. It's not opinion, it's just basic historical fact. It's just like you conservatives to deny the truth of history, and revise it to fit your outdated, unexceptional, and debunked ideology. But I'll generously give you the opportunity to prove yourself. Name one piece of signed conservative legislation in the last 100 years that benefited all Americans, not just the wealthiest Americans. But tax cuts don't count, because they overwhelmingly benefited the wealthiest Americans while barely benefiting the rest of Americans, if at all.

      @moonstone1159 Před 3 lety +9

      @chris bleau There were multiple recounts and over 54 court cases lost by Trump, so his election loss was validated over and over again. Even the Supreme Court thought his voter-fraud claims were bogus. I'm concerned by the anti-democratic methods used to disenfranchise voters, especially communities of color and young people. The usual GOP voter suppression occurred-- the scrubbing of voter rolls, the elimination of voting machines, the closing of voting locations, and even Dejoy's tampering with the US mail-- to keep Democrats from exercising their right to vote. The fact that more people voted on both sides shows how motivated voters were to participate in this election. Trump lost the popular vote by over 7M votes and lost the Electoral College. Time to move on.

    • @Tampahop
      @Tampahop Před 3 lety +1

      The leader may not be decided by the president, but the leader is also not decided by ballot box stuffing at 4 am. It's also not decided by voting machines with a 60+% error rate, far in excess of any approved voting requirements (somewhere less than 1%). It certainly makes us seem like just another banana republic to the rest of the world when we can't even hold a fair election.

    "I'm a single issue voter. I believe in American democracy."
    Thank you. I served as California's Secretary of State because I believe in our democracy. I worked to make voting systems secure, accurate, reliable, and auditable. I was familiar with "traditional" methods of voter suppression, but it never occurred to me that anyone would try to dismantle the post office to prevent citizens from exercising their right to vote.
    I taught students that in our country, we make change peacefully, with ballots, not bullets. Listening to the collective fears of citizens worrying that Election Day might be marked by violence - incredible.
    Watching the lawsuits, the ever-expanding conspiracy theories, and the deliberate efforts to subvert elections and destroy democracy - and the lack of interest in the health and well-being of our citizens - incomprehensible.
    Watching most of the leadership of the Republican Party either participating or conveniently disappearing behind a potted palm - beyond belief. There are too many profiles in cowardice to count.
    A big shout out to you, to everyone involved in the Lincoln project, and to every citizen who believes that our form of governance is worth saving.

      @@origamimambo545 And I can easily and unequivocally say he's wrong, offering no proof, just like Beau does since he hasn't told me why he thinks Trump is anti-democratic, it's hard to refute. As for the liar part, first Trump is a New Yorker and and a showman, so "bragging" is a part of his make-up. Second, he's a politician, and I challenge you to find me any politician who doesn't lie when it suits their purpose.
      "OMG! Trump is a politician who lies. Next up, water is wet."
      Now I can point out that a lot of his lies are either outright fabrication by someone else or they have selectively edited what he said to intentionally make it look bad. Case in point is the comment about WWI dead being losers and suckers claimed by The Atlantic. That claim doesn't even pass the common sense test. You have some anonymous source (always) saying something horrible just before a hotly contested election to make a candidate look bad. Then everyone who was there claims he didn't say it, including John Bolton who hates Trump. Nobody is willing to retract the comment, but also unwilling to reveal the anonymous (and cowardly) source. The simplest answer is that The Atlantic lied to draw clicks to their web site. Nothing else makes much sense.

If you want to figure out why things are going so wrong, don't look at Trump. He's just one man with very limited political power. Instead look at who WE voted for, 100 Senators and 435 Representatives who DO HAVE the power to make laws. At last count, the Congressional approval rate was in the low 20's while Trump's approval rating was about 40%. Imagine that, and you just have to look at all of the failure with the legislators to agree on a reasonable Covid-19 relief bill. Please don't say the last attempt at $900 billion with only $600 for the average Joe was reasonable. It's just too funny. As much as Democrats love to say "Think of the kids," they really don't care. Yes, they dismiss Krebs (a Republican appointed by Trump), Barr (a Trump loyalist), Christie (a long time friend and supporter of Trump), Trump appointed judges... by any excuse necessary. From Never Trumper to RINO to deep state to mental illness... whatever device that will allow them to keep Trump as their sole source of Truth.. The only people suffering from Trump derangement Syndrome are Trump's followers - people who have sold their souls and the US to a conman.
