OK I'm a Dylan addict and I just stumbled on to this song looking for the original. This is the absolute BEST cover and adaption I have EVER seen of a Dylan song!! Sheila Atim you just blew me away!!
I went 3 times to the London shows and she was just amazing in every one, as was the rest of the cast, loved the play

When I saw the play some years ago this song sung by Sheila Atim broke my heart.I could not contain my tears. I was not the only one. What a voice.
The only cover of a Dylan song that is better than the original ...hair on the back of my neck standing up and tears fill my eyes...just beautiful and pure
I viewed the film 'woman king' and her voice struck me as 'the kind of voice that sells records' (one of the memorable lines from the film -this one spoken by Mr. Lawrence Fishburne as Mr. Ike Turner: what's love gotta do with it). I am thankful that youtube has her on their platform. Thanks.

Googled her and this song and Musical came up. I lost my husband --9/2021. This song and Musical has provided me with so much comfort.

Even after seeing this play at The Old Vic three times I still can't over how stunning the adaptions and how jaw dropping the performances are. And then there's a powerful narrative with such complex characters woven in... just beautiful. Bring on the soundtrack!!

This shows what an impressive creative force reinterpretation can be, as opposed to merely covering a song. She breathes new life into the song and adds a sense of beauty to the opening track of... Empire Burlesque, of all albums.

I just watched her act in the movie Bruised by Halle Berry. I’m glad I saw this video of her singing. . After watching the movie I definitely needed to see her in a different character. The woman can act and sing.

Superb interpretation of Dylan's songwriting skills. The Australian production was similarly beautiful, taking on an eternal cloak of beauty, pathos, love and grief for audiences.

Valentine's Day performance - a birthday present from my wife and daughter; after being mesmerised by this song I can't wait. If someone had told me in 1963 when I bought Freewheelin', my first of many Dylan albums that 54 years later I'd be watching a play called after one of the lesser-known songs on that album in London, I'd have thought them mad. I'm so lucky.

I saw this show last week: it was brilliant! Song after song superbly reinterpreted. It cast new light and new meaning on songs I thought I had known for years. It would be brilliant if they could do a soundtrack CD.
Totally agree. Saw it on 28/7 and loved it, but especially the reinterpretations of the music. Not sure 'Like A Rolling Stone' will ever sound quite the same again thanks to Shirley H.......and as for Sheila Atim, Cor!
John Hegarty I absolutely agree about Shirley Henderson: a very moving version of 'Like A Rolling Stone'. I do hope they release a soundtrack. It would be awful to have no record of these great versions of Dylan's songs.
Folks, does anyone here know if there is already a way to hear these versions you´re talking about (´like a rolling..´, etc). I live in Brazil and I doubt very highly that this spectable will even be available via Web for people living in my region, let alone the show itself landing here... lol Thanks!

Saw this yesterday and the hairs on the back of my neck are still standing to attention. An amazing and heartfelt production. Beautifully done; the band was tight, the singing was just so, so good.. all of this standard. Glorious!
I would not have had this among Bob's greatest songs until I heard Sheila's interpretation. The way she convincingly shifts the narrative point of view back and forth from the first and second person perspective is so moving, and that Madam Butterfly verse... Boy, does that cut right through 2:37

This takes the original like it is ore, refines it and then turns it into something incredible.
Her version is sublime and stunning. Her talent obvious and breathtaking to hear but until you hear Bob finally nail this once elusive song of his on 1993’s bootleg and hopefully next official bootleg release from “ the Supper Club performances he gave I can still give Bob the ultimate performance of this beautiful song long ago abandoned by Bob. He had never truly performed it live to great adulation and the outtakes of the song which was originally “ someone’s got a hold of my heart” was the better recording for inclusion for “ Infidels “ but scrapped and later released as Tight Connection to my heart 2 years later on Empire Burlesque. I will be looking for many other recordings from this young lady who sings until your heart breaks. ❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💯
