Haha yeah. Corvette straight-up bought the engine out of a crashed Ferrari 458 and copied it for the Corvette C06... And they openly talk about buying Ferraris and picking them apart to see what makes them good, then copying it. I mean they always did this, but Corvette never used to brag about it.

I'm happy to see them come out with this car. It is a nice tribute to Don Yenko. I rember him as a great competitor. Great race driver and a decent piano player. I raced against him a couple of times in SCCS & IMSA.
I'm 64 years old and I like warranties. And I like this car. Am I gonna? I don't know, maybe. I definitely want to See one up close first. Great video, thanks.

That sounds like a good idea, but after my check engine light, Mclaren replaced the entire engine ($54 000 parts, $39,000 labor), I had warranty to I paid nothing, except they charged me for the oil and filter. $1650. Figure that out😮
Watching Barret/Jackson, when a Yanko Camaro comes across the block, they go for massisly huge bucks. I can only imagine with these will fetch. And then in the years to come, be worth a forturne. Love to buy one.

ETS twin turbo C8 goes 8.64 @ 170+ MPH in the quarter...... pulling the wheels at half track..... A lightened Tesla Plaid just went 8.61 @ 160.3! Now THAT would be a GREAT DRAG race!!!!! BUT the C8 looks SO MUCH BETTER!!!!

The Tesla plaid has traction control which is the reason why it doesn’t spin on launches even with bad tires.

As an example, while under warrenty, with the McLaren, only the dealer can change the oil, at a ridiculous $1650, and it MUST be done every year no matter what the mileage. With the Corvette, you can change it yourself for less than $100.

Yes, but if they detect anything, your $7k/yr warrenty is gone. Thry will definitely notice a forged stamp in the warrenty book

wait thats genius. shoot the oil pan, oil drains out, tow it in to mclaren shop. i be like sorry guys, something happened to my oil pan! made a huge mess all over my garage... can you fix it please??? then they replace the oil pan and put new oil in for free
One is also paying for the re-sale value. A Yenko Vette will fetch more than a person's vette project that makes similar horsepower.

Great video… LMR gives you 1000 hp for an extra 35k… Same warranty. I know they upgrade the transmission and the brakes with that twin turbo set up

One main thing about the SVJ, is that people don’t buy it for speed. There are plenty super cars even within lamborghinis own line up that will destroy it in a race. People buy those SVJs and SVs because of that raw V12 that has 770hp, which makes a noise and presence that no other car has these days. Combo that with fighter jet looks and you have a car that’s in a class of its own. People buying SVJs aren’t usually cross shopping any type of C8 corvette. There usually cross shopping it with other NA V12 cars that sound like that, for example an 812 Competition or 812 gts.

Well, another way to look at it is the Nurburgring times where cars like the Lambo mentioned and the Ferraris are truly remarkable and have top production car times. Also, if you rolling up to a Monte Carlo hotel then you would want one of the "Big Dog" cars. So it is not just about horsepower.....

It’s about hand built verses mass production…I’m glad they offer this model to whoever wants one..But would be totally satisfied with C8 ZO6 with ZO7 pkg Convertible
Callaway has been doing this with GM since the late 1980's. They are already out there. They aren't 1,000 but they have been careful over the years to keep them just below what the ZR-1 does. I have a 2011 that is 606 HP vs 638 on the ZR-1. It's a factory option though and it retains all factory warranty, etc.

For the money I STILL would take GM's own Z06/Z07 package over the Yenko, or wait for the ZR1 due later this year. A collectible isn't what I would want, and I'm pretty sure most everyone who would buy the Yenko ISN'T going to drive it with any enthusiasm or rack on miles and will instead turn it into a pampered garage queen, something that MIGHT visit a local Cars & Coffee meet. As for any of the Euro exotics...they generally do come with a lurking, significant price not reflected in the MSRP now down the road. Unless you're made of money, when they break you will break. That's their innate nature.
I saw a recent video - heartbreaking, Z06 Corvettes. At least a couple in the video were $170,000+. (The content creator didn't spend much time on the invoices. Unsure of "market adjustments..") I don't know when the ZR1 will be out. I think it will be at least 900HP. A base Z06 is what - $112,500? Maybe do another $42K for the ZR1 engine - gets you to ~ $155K, base. The Yenko is probably worth it, as it a limited-run vehicle.

For that price nothing can touch it and you have a full Chevy warranty. With that kind of power expect some maintenance bills after warranty. With this kind of horsepower and the way it will be certainly driven, unless just collected, you have to expect problems even with all the best parts. I just saw a video of a Steve Morris billet motor with the biggest main caps you have seen and they were cracked. Rings and valves can have problems over time with this power, cylinder pressures, and temps.
I agree its a great deal Just needs E Ray front drive AND I would do it, as soon as my wife croaks. Seriously its a bargain once in a life time ball buster that needs to be driven, Lessons at the track day one, then a nation wide cruise for sure. Yenko has form and this fits it perfectly.
Ive always said dark grey is the best color for mixing other colors for stripes ect! Any color with gray works! Red blue green orange yellow carbons all match grey! So i would go dark grey or that dark green/grey color or dark red my 3rd choice! If i had to go bright yellow or light blue but for me dark green and grey with carbon would look amazing!

I like that they upgraded the internals. I really like the widebody C8's from Label Motorsports.
For a good comparison, look any testing on the Nuremberg ring with the 25 Z06.

with the engine and trans issues im glad i passed on the c8 until they figure it out. engines and trans are popping like its HOT. c8s are not selling well at all. the dealerships are piling up and prices are starting to drop. would you want a car that drives 50 to 200 miles and breaks the engine and trans lol. nope they usually sit for about 90 days before they get worked on too. parts and stuff is back logged

How about a Rapid Blue with the orange stripes. Or black with red, silver or orange stripes. This car is going to be in direct competition with the ZR1. Likely not that much cheaper in price as that $70,000 donor car can have lots of options to go well past $70,000. The ZR1 will have less HP, likely close to 850, but I think it will have the advantage as a future investment...maybe.

Some people waited a year just to get a corvette, how long with corvette with upgrade cost and what is the wait time. The top five cars on your list are exotic cars, you don't see those being produced in mass quantity. I don't think you can compare those cars to a 1,000 HP corvette.

Interesting package. As a Saleen owner, I can appreciate limited run cars with good bang for the buck. I think, for the most part, people buying high priced exotics are a different type of customer. This car will probably embarrass some exotics for half the price. The only thing that would concern me about this car is, I think it is under tired for that amount of power. Be interesting to see on a track. Great video!

Build 10 in 2024 and 50 more in 2025? Maybe? bring a car and add $100,000 ? What is the boost and required fuel to get to 1000 HP? Documented HUGE problems with the transmission.

I have a C8 ZO6 - I am single digit on the waiting list for the C8 ZR1 - I think I will wait for the C8 ZR1 (with factory warranty and support)
Been there and done that with aftermarket stuff - including the very best (Lingenfelter). Wonderful engineering and bullet proof. But John is gone and the factory offers huge horsepower and factory service and warranty.

Purpose built cars hold their value 85% of the time. These yenko and copo cars are purpose built for a specific niche in the car community. The problem with u and most people have with paying the 100k is because u don’t belong to that niche and therefore don’t understand and aren’t interested. It’s very simple 😊
Agreed other reasons to buy a car over hp my M850i is faster than a c8 and I've beat hellcats but I've got comfort and self driving and a great clean hud it's just crazy people don't get that part oh and I got the gran coupe so my back seat fits tall people and awd with 4wheel steering it cuts u-turn better than a much smaller car hence why we buy cars for their options not just HP

Having that much power in a rear wheel drive car is a death trap! Not many can handle that kind of power without killing themselves or others! Besides, all that power is meaningless if the quality of build and the design of the base car is trash! No, I will still stick with known supercar manufacturers who build quality cars that don't look rediculous and have quality issues!
GM started with a clean sheet of paper when they designed the C8. And this was all they could do??!!! Look at the Lamborghini Technica and their intro video on CZcams!!! People are going to scream that the Lambo is $K above the Stingray but I say, they both started life with pencil on a sheet of white paper! And look at what a disaster the C8 turned out to be!

Have you seen the price of some of the Yenko camaros of yesteryear today? The prices are remarkably high compared to there original purchase price. I think this car will travel the same path.
