      3. M16 article.
*RESIST SOVIET INFLUENCE. COUNTER COMMMUNIST INFLUENCE.*
The M16 is an American 5.56x45mm rifle made a little bit before the Cold War. The M16 can be fully automatic, but certain variants allow the use of burst fire. The M16 was in service since 1964, and despite losing countless of wars, the USA is still using it today. Well, not really. The M16’s more modern versions have a crap ton of picatinny rail systems, surrounded the hand guard and where the carry handle. The M16 has multiple variants; nearly 90 variants in fact. The M16 was made to replace not only the .30-06 rifles such as the M1 Garand and the BAR/Browning Automatic Rifle, but also replace the 7.62x51mm M14. Many people argue that the 5.56 round is pitiful and doesn’t do as much damage when it hits a target, but the M16 is greater at yawing and penetrating due to the smaller caliber, compared to 7.62x51 or 7.62x39, which is the round the AK47/AKM shoots. According to studies, removing any human complications, within 300 meters you can hit a target with the M16 100% of the time.
      *Design*
The M16 is a pretty modern type of rifle, with almost every gun being based off of it; the M16 set a standard for even the AK. I mean, take a look at the AK12 and it’s cartridge. The AK12 has multiple picatinny rail systems to attach sights like the modern M16s, and the 5.45x39mm round is influenced by the 5.56x45mm round. The M16 stock is a fixed polymer stock, preventing people with shorter or longer arms from adjusting it to their size, but the M4 solves the problem with it’s adjustable, collapsible stock. Older M16 variants have the carry handle rear sight built in, however with newer M16s you will mostly see them with ACOG sights or maybe EOTech sights anyways, but there is an option to have a rear iron sight no bigger than a couple of 4x2 Lego blocks. Newer M16 variants also have a heavier barrel, and picatinny rail systems to attach items such as grips, lasers, flashlights, or sights for ease of use. The magazine well instinctively locks your hand into a position to ensure the mag is well in there, and around the magazine you might be thinking “what are all these buttons?” I will tell. On the left side, there is a “paddle” referred to as the bolt catcher. If the bolt is open, and you have a loaded magazine in, you can push the paddle and a round will be in chamber. This makes reloading slightly faster since you don’t have to pull back the loading handle, which is located on top of the gun behind the rear sight. There is also a little bit of metal under it that pops out of the M16 when you push on the magazine release. If you can’t put two and two together, that’s how the magazine releases. Above the rear grip is the selector switch, giving it the ability to fire on semiautomatic (one round per trigger pull), automatic/burst fire (automatic shoots continuously without pulling the trigger over and over, and burst shoots 3 rounds automatically, stops on the third, and you pull the trigger again to repeat the process) On the right side above the magazine well and trigger, below the bolt and dust cover, the magazine release is there. Behind the bolt is the forward assist. It helps you JAM YOUR RIFLE EVEN MORE if your bolt happens to not be all the way forward. Okay, not actually, but if your bolt was about an inch open, then instead of pushing the forward assist, check that you don’t have a damn double feed or some other malfunction instead of helping the bullet get even more screwed up. The hand guard, the area you put your inactive hand around and prevents your hand from touching the hot barrel, used to have older variants with a polymer material including no picatinny rail systems, but times have changed and so has the gun. The loading handle is located behind the rear sight, and is not ambidextrous unless you have a certain loading handle; you can only pull it back if you have your finger on the left side of it. The M16 is gas operated, meaning it uses the gases and inertia from the fires bullet to push onto the bolt and re-chamber a round. This sounds cool, but it does put carbon and grime into your gun forcing you to clean it.
      *History*
Starting from the very beginning, the US’s guns were just guns like the M1 Carbine, M14, M1 Garand, and Browning Automatic Rifle. The guns rather weighted to much, had too much recoil, didn’t have enough rounds in a magazine, or didn’t do enough damage. Let it be known, with every gun there is that is perfect in one area, sucks in 12 different areas. Meanwhile, Eugene Stoner and his company Armalite had made a civilian rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm called the AR10, derivative of the gun being made by Armalite and being it’s 10th patent. Wooden stock and hand guard, and grip. However, with such a lightweight gun, it was unsuited for 7.62. Afterwards, 5.56x45mm, or 5.56, or .223, was soon the bullet the AR10 was chambered in, and soon called the AR15. The change was great, as it meant that with a lighter cartridge, you get less weight put on you, more ammo as well; with the caliber change, it provided twice the amount of ammo at the same weight. After Eugene Stoner got a general to test the weapon out, he decided that it should be the new weapon every branch should use. Afterwards, Armalite passed down licensing to Colt, another American arms manufacturing company, and soon the M16 was dubbed the M16, more specifically the M16A1. It was fully automatic, original, and revolutionary. Well, not quite. The M16A1 had many issues. People thought of it as too weak, but most importantly it jammed practically every second. About 80% of soldiers complained that their gun had a stopping of some sort during this time. The average modern day man might say, “This is nothing, every gun has a rough start. Plus, you ever AR15/M16 jam? I’ve seen triple feeds for crying out loud!!!“ Fair point, but 80% is still not a number to ignore. It turns out during this time soldiers though their rifle was “self cleaning”, and didn’t bother cleaning anything. They were wrong, and hence the jams. Maintain your rifle, for Browning’s sake! In the coming years, multiple different improvements were made. Like the M16A2 and A4, with burst fire mechanics implemented because apparently soldiers, marines, airmen, seamen, and coast guards were wasting too much ammo with them. The M4 is a “cut down to size” version, with a collapsible stock, smaller hand guard and barrel. The M16A3 and A4 as well as the M4 uses picatinny rail systems, and with aftermarketing, the M16A2. But not during Vietnam of course. It soon influenced the HK416, G36, Galil, AK74, AK12, SCAR-L 16, M249, C7A2, L86, AUG, Korean weapons, Japanese weapons, and many more. This gun was the standard to every rifle.
      *happy little closing paragraph*
A new M1911 for the rifles. A new AK47 for NATO. The M16, while not perfect, the law. Used by the law, and the military, you feel a sense of pride by holding more than just America’s rifle. When the tyrants start kicking your door, draw your rifle and take a stand. Retreating might be an option, but a cowardice option. Violence may be a fool’s last resort, but it is an amazing first resort. Always be ready.
They’ll look high and they’ll look low
      They’ll look everywhere we go
But when the sinners find us, we won’t hide!
They’ll come loud and they’ll come fast,
But we shoot first and we can last
Keep your rifle by your side
      Singin’
O’ Lord, this Earth was made for us
      Singin’
O’ Lord, the sinful life just ain’t enough
So we’ll take a stand, ‘cause we must protect our land!
Keep your rifle by your side

They are wilbur and quackity from the dream smp. They are called tnt duo since wilbur has a history of blowing things up in the minecraft server with tnt, and they are a duo since they 'fight' (a love/hate kind of thing) a lot. More specifically, there's a story arc with more tnt where they fight and lead to someone dying from the tnt instead of going to help since they were too busy arguing with each other.

    • @AdamPerson
      @AdamPerson Před 2 lety +2

@@jessy1982 The P320 M17 and M18 are 9x19mm semi-automatic pistols adopted by effectively every US Military branch, in order to replace the Beretta M9. The company, Sig Sauer, is a Swiss/German small arms manufacturing company that is quite popular with civilians. The M17 & M18 have a 21 round magazine and a 17 round magazine depending on who you are and what your mission is, a picatinny rail system under the barrel in case you want to put on a flashlight, a place where a pistol RMR sight goes, and by the way, the thing looks like an airsoft gun. Don’t believe me? Look it up. The difference between the two pistols is that the M17 has a 120mm/4.7 inch barrel, and the M18 is cut down by about half an inch for carry and extra concealment. Shall another comment be made, it is effectively no different from a normal Sig P320.
      *Design notes*
What makes this gun different from the M9-Let alone any gun? First off, the M17 and 18 have a “mud flap” that reduces the chance of your gun’s action (part right under the barrel) and blocks dirt, mud, sand, etc from getting in. Compared to the M9, the M17 and M18 has a 17 round and 21 round magazine, compared to the M9’s 15 rounds, making the P320 a glorified Glock. The Sig M17 also has a picatinny rail system on the bottom slide, allowing flashlights to be put on. There is also a cut out part on the top side to make attachments of a red dot sight slightly easier. There are also spanner screws on the pistols to reduce the chance of you taking your gun apart mid-fight. Oh, and if you couldn’t tell by the looks of the pistol, it’s coyote tan. Arguably the best color.
      *History*
First off, who is Sig, why would they put sour cream in their burritos, and what made the P320 the 320th P? Sig, or if spelt correctly, SIG, was a Swiss small arms manufacturing company founded in 1857 that made the M1863, a gun that was effectively never used due to Switzerland’s neutrality. Soon after SIG would find a way to very easily manufacture pistols in the 1930’s - 1940’s, while putting all the positives of all pistols used in WWII, both the axis and allies. In a nutshell, a man named Charles Petter would make the M1911 more accurate and reliable in a cheaper way.
Meanwhile, Sauer & Sohn had made a pistol that would be the first to use a decocking lever. Basically what a “decocking lever” means is that in the moment you accidentally pull the lever to your pistol back, instead of pulling the trigger and risking a discharge, or without clearing your pistol, you can return the lever back to it’s preferred (unless you’re in combat) and safer position without firing a bullet on accident.
Going back to SIG, they wanted to expand their market to other countries. However, due to Switzerland’s neutrality laws restricting the distribution of weapons to foreign countries. UNLESS, if you partnered with a foreign country. So while SIG tries to find a match, SIG meets Sauer, banding together to make SIG Sauer. Afterwards, they made the SIG Sauer P220, which basically combined the P210 and the decocking lever. The SIG P220 was a single stack pistol, holding 7 - 10 rounds in a .45 ACP magazine, double action, and fairly modern for it’s time.
A wild American calls trials in the background, called the XM9 trials, demanding a new pistol with double-stack 9mm, and double action. This would make the creation of the SIG Sauer P226. While not fully adapted by the USA, some police departments have ended up using them, as well as of course civilians.
Afterwards, the US Army was providing second chances. They would send trials to replace all their Beretta M92’s, the gun the US military adopted at the time, for a new gun. They called it the Modular Handgun System, keyword *MoDuLaR* which is like the US army’s new word they’ve learned in English. Unfortunately, the M9’s frame has been wearing off, decreasing reliability especially for the environments it has been subjected to. The Army wanted to -instead of make new M9’s - buy a new pistol. I can only theorize why, my theory being that presumably wanted the government to think that the US Army needs more funds by spending those funds by the end of the year. Effectively what they wanted was a new pistol that you could slap on attachments easier. This included a picatinny rail system on bottom, two different slides, easier way of placing a sight, a barrel to put a suppressor, and the brown look that fits your camo, but probably doesn’t fit the environment… UCP is back.
After some time, at around 2017, Sig Sauer won the contract, in total the contract with about 421,000 guns in total, nearly 46% going to the Army and 8% to the Marines. There were two pistols, designated M17 for full - size, and M18 for carry.
*Conclusion to congratulate and boost confidence*
New equipment, new possibilities, more achievements awaiting this thing. A pistol will help you in your time of need, and this one will be delivered to you in a coyote tan that matches the Multicam/mixpat you wear. While pistols do not win wars, they save the lives of the ones that do win. While I hope you never find yourself in a dire situation, if you find yourself to be your own first responder, expect this guy to be your partner. And remember, switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading. Switching to your knife is even faster than switching to your pistol. Knife the watermelon. Wait, there’s another SIG weapon the Army is adopting?
