Peakbagging the Bitterroot: North Lost Horse North (9ker)

My second attempt at this seldom visited summit. This time around, Elizabeth joined me and we approached from the North Lost Horse drainage. The trail disappears after ~ 1.5 miles, and quickly becomes a bushwhack, sidehill, and boulder hop up a very steep south ridge. The day before's rainfall made things soggy, and the black lichen super slippery! Very slow moving for sure. My previous attempt was back in July via Roaring Lion creek. That trail is also abandoned (since the 2016 fire), and completely covered in burned downfall (I do not recommend!) Amazing fall colors this time of year.
