I bought it at launch and could not get past the first few hours. I came back after the show and I am in love.
I wasn’t there at launch cause I had my suspicions then that it wasn’t gonna pan out. Now I’m fully invested cause of the show, and tho it’s not a true fallout game it has easily become one of my favorites in the IP! I even bought a steel book for it since I’m a big collector of them lol
The story is some of the best since Bethesda took over, the response choice screen is back and better than ever, the voice acting is top notch some of the best in the series. Enemy variety is so wide. So much to love.
The show brought me to this franchise in general and it's amazing. The show was also hella good imo. Glad to somewhat be a part of this community now. I'll only play 76 with a friend tho I think
I’m level 1041 and I remember running from scorchbeasts when I was low level, one chased me forever, now I kill them for fun lol
just curious how many hours are you at? I'm close to your level at 936 but I spent a lot of time messing with camp building and exploring, etc. 3200 hours here.
@@eldonb5131 on the screen before you start up the game it says 7809 but the challenge in game says something like 6000….I too spend a lot of time building and messing around lol
Me with the imposter Sheepsquatch now, lol
@@eldonb5131 I replied yesterday but I think something ate the comment…it’s like 7500 hours but that’s what it says on the ps5 game info thing,in game the challenge says it’s 5000+.but I also goof around a lot and hang out at home lol
Jesus is there no max level?
You mentioned no level cap but technically there is ...its around 34000 (forgot exact number) and at least one person has gotten there.
Gotcha, that's such an absurd number!
@@Waydotsim slowly getting there, Its been a grind but if you do daily ops and events you’ll get there
The level cap is 32767
@@Isaiflamand you cant get there dummy inly way was a xp glitch with deathclaws that was patched

As a veteran player of 76, I would like to say your video is really, really well done. You did a fantastic job at describing this amazing game!
What’s a veteran fallout player exactly
History in the game complete with scars and tales to tell.
@@lukegeekwalker2689had to of played 3 or NV when it actually came out I’d say to be a real veteran fallout player , lots of players just hopped on after the new tv show which is fine but the games are much different
@@MonokazieYeah, to be a Fallout veteran you must meet that criteria.
Playing a single game when it came out, makes you a veteran of that single game.
@Monokazie they said 76 Veteran, meaning beta players or day 1 OG's. I myself played since the first beta.
After lvl 350 you stop getting legendary perk slots. Weapons and armor stop scaling past lvl 45/50. So the actual soft cap is lvl 350.
However to upgrade fully the key legendary slots you need to reach around 700+ if I remember correctly
@eldonb5131 nah, you get 2 coins per perk card scrapped and every 5 levels you get a pack with 5 cards in it. That speeds it up a fair bit. Also there's around 100 blind every scoreboard. Which really helps too. This is also not counting any random perk packs you can buy off the seasonal stuff or get for challenges or whatever.
@@andrewbrock3675 Then I guess I stand corrected. For me I'm around level 940 and I started (for the first time) scrapping a lot of my perk cards around lvl 700 (I was clueless even at 700 haha) so I could upgrade my legendaries. I remember having just enough to max rank 3 or 4 of the key legendary perks in addition to all the Specials except for charisma as that's a waste (for those that don't know this is the only one that doesn't share cards when on a team so people recommend not upgrading this legendary). maybe things have changed since then or I'm remembering wrong. I really don't believe you max out all that I mentioned at level 350....but if that's what you're saying I guess I'll go with it. I don't remember that being the case at all though. cheers!
@eldonb5131 I think it's lower, I'm just under 700 and my legendary perks are all maxed if I recall. Possibly wrong though since I don't play it much anymore and don't bother with perks very often these days.
Btw with the inventory thing, there is definitely a lot of stuff that you see that doesn’t actually do anything, for example: shot glass, pipe, burnt/ruined book, prosthetic leg, etc… if you get what I’m saying, think if you’re ever going to use an item before picking it up, and if it is everywhere around the map you don’t need to pick it up because it is always in reach, I hope this was helpful!
Cant you use the items to scrap em?
Yes, you can
If you scrap them at a crafting bench you will get materials to build your base
But you will still carry the same weight if you scrap them because scraps still have weight
So technically Almost every item has value if you count the scrapping part of it
Thank you for keeping an open mind! Glad you enjoyed it 🎉
I'm a little over lever 1000.. been playing almost since the beginning. I NEVER used any exploits!

Been watching you since you tried out rs3, and it's Really cool to see you branch out into new content creation. Your way of explaning, and reviewing stuff is always entertaning to watch!
I played it on release and havent played it since and im currently redownloading it to see the changes. Yes the no NPCs was very weird and creepy, The whole "Story" was through notes and voice logs which is a neat idea but in reality didnt play out great. I didnt get far at all because I was bored and no NPCs was very lonely and I only ran into people maybe 2 or 3 times but they were doing the quests and ignored you. It could of been more interesting where there was a safe zone in the starting areas of the map and outside of that players can kill you and you cant track on the map. Or have the bottom half all the quests stuff and top half pure PVP with better loot.
hi there. Not sure I am too late for this but will give a try. I do have a XBOX, love to give a try to this game. Originally played Fallout 3 on PS3, I did like it but never played any of the other titles. Just watched fallout recently and got back into it. Love to give it a try after your video for sure. Thank you!
Big fan of your videos! My gf has an xbox & I'd love to play Fallout 76 with her :)
Heck, I have an Xbox! I was turned off by the og release and didn't know it was better until now, thank you for the info!
As a vet i appreciate that you kept an open mind and had a good time!
Rs3 has a lot planned for the rest of the year would love to see you come back, but can understand if you don’t since your new vids are popping off
I have an Xbox and love fallout games, but I wasn't quite interested in trying out 76 when it released because of the reviews, but I think I really want to try it now!
I have an Xbox. The reason I want to play this game is because I’ve played Fallout 4 and loved it and want more and watching this video has made me want to get this game because I’ve been interested in it for awhile and this compelled me to get it.
12:45 I pass that door often... Never without picking the lock.
I know there's all this stuff you're supposed to do, but I can't help getting all caught up in building and improving my camp. I know it's not SUPER important ... but it's fun. I recently changed my camp to look a little bit like simple cottages, where one has a ....what do you call it? A terrace? I don't really care if it makes sense or whatever. If I like it, then that's how it will be.
I've played this beautiful mess of a gamer since 2018, the game is amazing now, if they bring back nuclear winter as well that'd be really fun - that mode, as busted as it was, was really fun and had unique elements to it for a battle royale - honestly this game has so much potential to appeal to a lot of different people, base building for people that like to relax, crazy bosses for people that like PVE, ability to go around shooting other platers like a lil pyscho in pvp, this game will always have a special spot in my heart. Yes, I've played every fallout game, yes, even those ones. 76 is a great game now, period.
Long time Fallout fan. I'm glad to hear someone saying something positive about this game. You convinced me and you're now responsible for my decision. Im downloading it now. Oh, yeah i have an xbox. I think i was supposed to say that.
Fallout 76 at current is a pretty fun game, just not a good Fallout game. It's a borderlands style looter shooter with a Fallout skin.
Honestly it's the best Fallout game. So I guess the other Fallout games no longer measure up. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♀️
@@SkyForgeVideos You have no argument to support that.
It's better than fallout 4 it does everything 4 does but better and is arguably on par with 3. I'll agree nv, 2 and 1 are better fallout games though
uhh kind of, still has a fallout feel. The borderlands thing is just similar because your mob killing on the same world with friends. But def still a good fallout game bad take there.
It's the best multiplayer fallout that's what matters albeit there are some areas that need improvement but so far it looks like it'll just get better with time as long they continue to update it.
Try Vats at some point. And nice video and summary of current game.
Left bumper for Vats on xBox controllers :) it does use AP I believe
I have an xbox!! Ive always wanted to try the games, but after watching the show i am now researching which game to get and would love to start with this one 🙏
Is there a Performance Mode in fallout 76?
I have never eat or drank anything, you can enjoy the game regardless, I stopped eating and drinking shortly after game launch , the gamedoes not penalize you for not eating or drinking.
I have an Xbox and would love to try this game! My little brother (11 years old) is looking for a new game to play together :)
Really interesting view, thanks! Was kinda interested how it fared after the tv series. Still the original launch was so damn bad
You should definitely play some of the older Fallout titles! Basically the entire series is great (Tactics is debatable but still fun IMO).
Xbox and really enjoy Fallout as a series, excellent lore and stories :)
So if you can have thousands of level do you get points perks every ti e you level up? I'd like to play 76
Every lvl up you get to pick 1 perk card. And you should get a perk card pack every 5 lvls with 5 random cards. For the S.P.E.C.I.A.L you can have a max of 15 in each, with a MAX total of 56 point to make builds. You can change your build at any time, and you can change your cards/perks at anytime, as long as you have collected them. So wanna do some crafting, switch up some cards to gain more stuff, then switch back to a combat build and go crazy. Hope this helps!
I've been playing 76 on and off since the beta, currently about level 800. I like single-player Fallout games better, but I also like 76 a lot. I was totally against multiplayer in Fallout before release, but now I think I'm ok with a little multiplayer in the next game.
Fallout 76 is a good introduction, given then chronologically it takes place first in the entire fallout series.
Always so happy to see a new Waydot video :)
Started playing fallout 4 again because of the fallout show would love to get a code so i can play 76 after I finish fallout 4 great video btw 👍🏻
You would've had more backpack space issue if there was no introduction of backpacks haha.
other than that I fully understand.. im always overweight when im outside of my power armor.
Ur story is so good and funny, as a new player I feel this 👍
I've been debating on picking this game up or not and your video was really insightful! Good upload!
ayo this oughta be a fun video
I was at E3 2018 when F76 was the cause of so much hype. playing the game on release was one of the biggest letdowns for a game played on release. Looking at your gameplay and first time experience I'm interested but it hasn't sold me on going back to the game. The most surprising thing of the entire video was the huge cat... unfortunately my daughter saw this one part of the video an now we are looking at getting a cat. Thanks. -_- much love keep at it!
Get the cat!!
So in f76 the food and water bar don’t matter at all unless you are running a perk that gives you extra benefits for being well fed and fully hydrated
That’s just wrong being fully fed and having full water give you bounce buffs they can be seen in your pit boy in the stats tab under effects
It won't make you starve to death, but if they're full you get benefits like more carry weight and better Action Point (AP) regeneration.
19:00 man found out about the gold bullion system..... in his NOSE O_o
Good video lots of great info thanks
Yes you can change the background clarity in settings. Also in first person, you can actually pull the camera back so its not right on the shoulder.
This took me a long time to figure out, but once I did, zoomed all the way out is my preferred way to play.
How
@@erjikkzon I can only speak for PC but probably something similar on console. Going by memory hold V and slide your mouse downward (not the scroll wheel). this is harder to do if you're at your base because holding V initiates you to build. so way easier to do outside of your camp perimeter
EDIT - just realized OP was referring to 1st person, I'm referring to 3rd person (and how to zoom out) as I HATE playing in 1st person view
@@erjikkzon hold select then press the down or up when in 3rd person
I mostly play multiplayer as just run Events daily ops launch nukes with about 8 other friends sometimes more depending how many is on and any quest you can help a friend do some you just get get the shared progress
I love the game, it does get a bit grindy when needing to craft ammo, but there are ways to combat this and it's not that bad when you get later in the game. Like after a farm run for ores/acid/plastic etc. i can craft over 10K Fusion Cells for my tesla rifle, wich last quite a while, since you get ammo from dead enemies.
You can easily farm more than enough ammo through expeditions. Enemies always drop more than you use.
The good thing about ammo in this game is the enemy will drop ammo for the gun you're using to kill them most of the time
I have 300-500 fusion cell for my Tesla rifle. After a few hours and several public events + some farming I got about 1k of them
I own it on xbox ,ps4 and pc all my main characters over lvl 100. I really enjoy the game and the community is fantastic.
New players should know you get free items off the atom store every day around 4pm uk time. Random what they give you but all useful.
Put all items your not using in your stash box at your bases or at a train station to free up space
Appalachia the setting and map in this game is my favorite in the series and it's being expanded with Skyline Valley update. I do think bethesda was BS'ing with their whole no need for NPCs the players make up the world knowing damn well they only hold 24 (with exceptions) players each, makes zero sense with that big of a map. I think the game just wasn't fully ready and Wastelanders was how the game was meant to be or at least how it should have been released because that was a massive update, all the NPCs, quest, dialog both written and voiced etc. Game has had 18 soon to be 19 with Skyline major content updates all free, don't get fooled by any of the DLC bundles it's all cosmetic crap. It's no where near perfect though, plenty of bugs still in the game, performance issues which require INI tweaking, QoL has improved greatly with things like special/perk loadouts and loot all corpses option but there's still basic things lacking, many weapons feel underpowered or useless, many perk cards feel useless, many legendary rolls feel useless, CAMP building can be infuriating at times, it's crazy what some people have built CAMP wise despites it's flaws. Overall it's had major improvements, Bethesda surprisingly stuck with it likely due to 1st subs, I really enjoy it despite it's flaws and look forward to hopefully many more content updates.
The game starts really to become fun around LVL 100, as one can collect the good perk cards and enough slots to become effective against strong enemies.
It takes like a day to level up once how tf am I going to get lv 100
classic "game gets fun at 1000 hour mark lmao"
@@Oops1269The game is fun at low levels too. I'm one of the recent players due to the show, I'm only level 20-something. I'm Enjoying the game a lot.
@@Oops1269nah, the game is fun at lower levels. It's just the real character build versatility starts around level 50 when you already can equip all the items.
@nicks2872 If you stick to doing all the quests/story lines while jumping into events here and there, you will be level 200 at the very least by the time you are done with all of them.

Thoroughly enjoyable. I'm starting to really love your reviews and game analysis.
I have never played Fallout 76 in my life, but have completed all the single player titles from Fallout 1 to Fallout 4 many times over the years.
Like many I was put off 76 by the terrible launch conditions and what was described by some as an abusive/exploitative cash shop. But from what I can gather much of this seems to have been fixed or otherwise addressed.
So OK I'm prepared to give 76 a go after watching this vid, because you really did make it seem like fun.
I’ve played fallout 4 before, are the controls similar to 76?
Yes
Welcome to 76! Oh and the best community in the world!
Bought the game back in 2018, it was a a historically bad launch played like 2-3 weeks and me and friends exploited hard and quit.
As of the past two years the game has done a complete turnaround and enjoying a playthrough with my fiancé.
Thanks to the fallout show as well for making us want more fallout 🫡 great vid too! 💙🖤
Is there pvp in this game and how does it work? Pvp servers, pvp areas, open world pvp if you flag yourself?
You need to hit someone and they need to hit you, but it only works if pacifist mode in the settings is off. Or if someone has a bounty for breaking someone's lockers or something else, they are free to kill without confirmation. Public world server is usually with free PvP but it changes the rules every month or so and all the progress on the server isn't saved.
You can force noobs into PVP which is hilarious. They're all squishy and always send hate mail or cry in game chat.
It's a great game. So many things to do. You will never run out of something new to find or whatnot
I didnt watch the show, i had friends drag me in. And im really enjoying it
Bro your videos are great but we need more xd
Is this a game to be played online with people or by yourself like a story mode ?
It is online. You can play mostly solo. The public event (which is the best source of EXP and loots) usually play with other people

Character customization is WAY better on controller, and the community is generally very nice. If you actually act like a person in the wasteland, you’ll more likely make some powerful friends.
Most people don’t like COD immigrants or Fortnite kids.

You also sound a bit new to pc as well. No disrespect intended.
Sea of thieves next?
Alright, so gonna redirect this narrative early in your experience because it's been ignored by the haters. The original story, The Overseer's Journey, explained why there were no NPCs and hinted at the fact that they were going to add them eventually. When Todd said there were going to be no NPCs, he was selling the game he had to sell, not the game he wanted it to be eventually. That is the nature of live service games. The main objective of that original storyline is literally, figure out why everyone is dead and solve the problem so that people could return to Appalachia. They always intended on adding NPCs and probably had half the work done at launch.
That said, the problems the game had at launch are no secret and I stand by this take, it was the right choice. I played thru most of those early days. They still had a lot to figure out and had those NPCs been there, it would have been profoundly worse for them.
Where's your speed demon and marsupial mutations with starched genes park equipped 😂
Jesus Christ what is your mouse sensitivity? 240???

Yeah on mouse and keyboard the character creator isnt great. IDK why its so finicky. On controller its much smoother and you have much more control over it.

Your channel is full of first time player??? How when did u first start playing video games?
I started playing video games a long time ago (I was 4), but I really only played a few.. and stuck with them. I spent the majority of my time gaming in between a mix of Runescape both RS3 and OSRS, as well as World of Warcraft. So while all these other games released, were popular, and sometimes died or stagnated.. I still mostly just played runescape and WoW.
So now I've made it sort of my mission to go back and give a lot of these games a fair shake, and to try and become a bit less close minded towards trying new things.
Crazy how many good games people miss out on because of Wow

Regarding character customization, your opinion is definitely in the minority. It takes a bit to get used to it, and if you're not a creative person, it can be a struggle, but the last few Bethesda games (Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Starfield), are considered to have some of the most robust customization in the market (with some exceptions).
16 times the detail.
From the small amount I played, it was fun but can't see my self going back that much to play it since I'm not the biggest fan of the post apocalyptic settings. On a fun note I did run into a graphical bug when going into the airport which made it seem like I was a fever dream
That's fair, I'm more of a medieval fantasy guy myself, give me a sword and shield and I'm generally happy. But Fallout 76 definitely surprised me and was a fair bit of fun during my playthrough!
@@Waydots Honestly im the same I love more fantasy orientated games, and I enjoyed what I played but I feel like it was limited due to playing solo and not with friends. I honestly really enjoyed this game when it launched. Obvious technical issues aside, I thought the world and stories in the game at launch were some of my favorite in the series. Especially after hating just about everything in Fallout 4.
I still think adding humans was a mistake. The only humans being players was such a good idea, and I still can't believe people thought that was such a negative. The game did have NPCs, they were all just robots. The new main story is poopoo as well.
I think the only humans being players idea would function much better in a game that actually has a massive server capacity, 1000's of people on one server would give this a totally new and cool dynamic. (similar to what we saw recently with pax dei).
But the 24 player limit I think would lend this world to feeling exceptionally lonely, and maybe that's the point but it seems antithetical to an online experience.
the reason players viewed no npc's as such a negative was because players back then and still today players are usually solo with no mic. so without npc's the world felt lifeless and dead, because everyone was out doing their own thing, especially since the server only allows 24 players in at a time with such a large map . good idea, bad execution.
Hunger and thirst systems suck
There is no downside to ingoing the metres. They changed it so you only get benefits when they're topped up.
First!
Very ugly looking game, can't stand the visuals.
It's beautiful. Not as beautiful as some games like Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon and the likes but beautiful enough
