Excellent review. I'm curious when you bought this? The JSSG-10 I believe is the older model number for the newer JWS-10 that is on the Jet Tools website now as of December 2020. I looked on the Jet website at the beginning of 2020 and they did not at the time carry the JSSG-10 or any wet grinder. I think the JSSG-10 went out of production for a few years at least. I have the JSSG-10 from about 2004 I think, and it has been a good machine. I'm at the point now where I need to replace the motor brushes having only used it a handful or more times each year on chisels and block plane blades, and my kitchen knives. Jet has the brushes on the Jet Parts website which is a good thing. I think the wheel is comparable quality to the Tormek stock wheel. You should put "sharpener" in your title for more hits.
Hi Pool Pro - thank you for your comment :). I bought the JSSG-10 on a sale here in DK - and your are right, it's an older model, but still doing sharpening fine. My experience when compare a Tormek and Jet grinder wheel - is the Jet wheel is a little more "loose" in it's compound. It's easier to get a groove on the wheel surface. But I plan to get a Tormek diamond wheel (grit 600) as replacement, anyway. And thank you for your tip - I will put sharpner into the title.
Hi William - sorry to hear your Jet grinder has stopped working. My Jet grinder is still working perfect. $335 sounds a lot - only for diagnose ? Have you tried another rep. shop ?
Good attention to the details
Thanks, Mike :)
Great video.
Thanks :)
I have this model and I like it
Yes - it works fine - and only thing I want to change, is the grinder wheel - I will properly change it to a Diamond wheel K400 later.
Super vidéo je viens d’acheter une affûteuse jet et je me demandai si les accessoires de la tormek allait déçu, vous m’avez donné la réponse mercis.
Merci pour votre commentaire - je suis heureux que vous ayez pu utiliser la vidéo :)
