- Meg’s in the kitchen today preserving various things - first, getting some beef brisket into a brine for next weeks’ Corned Beef. And then preserving all the beautiful chard we harvested from the greenhouse. If we don’t eat it all first.

Baby and you come first. We will still be here, no worries ❤
No truer word! I’m in for as long as you post. Take care of yourself Meg! ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
Ditto
Just happy to see what you post when you can. Life comes first.
Your family is more important than CZcams. I am a nurse and I did notice you look a bit pale is your iron low?? Low iron does sap your energy. I’m playing hooky I have been digging out raspberry plants, what a pain, literally, I have stickers in my hands. Get some rest plz, baby time will arrive quicker than you think and that is more tiring, as you know. I’m a mom of 6 so I speak from experience.
I've noticed Meg's paleness also. BE CAREFUL MEG. And you looked drained around your eyes as well. growing a baby is work on top of all you do
To add to this, if you are wanting to eat things like chard it could be a sign of iron levels being low, if your wanting to eat something eat it your body is telling you to for a reason
Agree, the eyes tell it. Rest Meg❤
Meg, I stopped boiling corned beef...now I bake the corned beef...wow, the taste is still great, tender and flavorful. The switch was because when we lived in Lake Placid many moons ago, we lost electricity and had to use our wood stove for our meals...from that point on, I bake the corned beef with usual sides of potatoes, carrots and home made sweet & sour cabbage...I still add a can of Guiness as required by cannon from my Grandmother. Appetizers are Lobster Egg Rolls with a Beer Mustard Dip...Dessert is usually Apple Pie w/ Vanilla Ice Cream. Cheers from Maine.
I roast my corned beef too. Hello from Alabama, transplanted from South Portland!
Okay, take care of yourselves. Will miss you but completely understand.
❤❤❤😊
B R E A T H E my dear . I for one, feel very blessed to have been a part of your lives for all these years. The family has a LOT of its plate right now, so take the time you need. Such stress to please us is not healthy for any of you right now.
We ❤ all of you & want you healthy 💖💖
👵🏻👩🌾❣️
Meg, you do what you need to and take care of yourself and baby. We’ll watch anything you put up on you tube. I hope Ben will continue to film document your build as he had planned, even if he doesn’t post it. I know those young men and Buggy help a lot. Thank you for the peek into your life. You inspire us.
You can find out more about the build by watching the Homestead Shoptalk videos. The 3 guys talk more in depth about what they have going on.
I have learned so much from you, Meg, but especially the life you live as an example, is an encouragement to me. The way you work with your children and the care you take of every little thing is such a blessing to me and, I'm sure ,others. Love from Canada
The belly on the counter.
Priceless. Motherhood is so amazing.
Should always look after yourself first. You do what you need to, to stay healthy. I’ll look forward to those two videos as usual. Love to all the family
Don’t have another thought about how your regular voyeurs think about how often you share your world. I for one enjoy and get inspired by your posts, but family first. Wishing, as always, love and joy to your family at this time. Ben will do an amazing job on the extension with his band of merry men and maid Marion. Look forward to any content that comes our way.🙏❤️🇦🇺
Love your comment 😂🤣.
We will be more than happy to wait.
It’s always worth waiting for 👍👍
Love the' maid Marion' bit. We all know who that wonderful person is.
My sentiments precisely! I will just add God blessyou all!❤
We are praying for you all.Take care of you and your baby. Dont worry about filming. You're growing a person that takes a lot of energy, and im sure you're ready to be in the nesting stage.
We totally understand the need to cut back. Just take care of you and the rest of the family.
I love ALL The Hollar Homestead videos!
100% me too
Amen!! Amazing family that is making simplicity look real and beautiful.
I will certainly miss your frequent videos, but I want you to take care of yourself and your family first before before extra videos. I am grateful for all that you post and look forward to whatever treasured film you post online.Take good care🌹☘️🌹

SE MICHIGAN ❤
We have been spoiled by so many videos. The eating at the Hollar Homestead is 5 ✴✴✴✴✴.
Folks should go to Your playlist and start with year 1. Still working my way through it. The boys are so little and love how hard they try to help.. It is like watching a new series.
I have binged the Whole Lotta Hollars twice. The best content on CZcams by far. Epic Journey of one terrific family. 10/10 will binge again.
Twice a week will be delightful. 'Keep 'em wanting more', right? :) Ya'll are loved. Wishing you all the best with baby, building and everything!
I honor your choices! Focus on building, both the family and the home. 👍👍
2:10 I remember my mother saying "a pint is a pound the world around" (thus, one cup = 1/2 pound). Always seems to work out right for sugar, salt, and so on. 🌻
whats a spoon?
In the UK I was brought up with 'a pint of water weighs a pound and a quarter ' because our pints have 20 fluid ounces vs US 16floz.
Meg and Ben, Take the time you need to build and prepare for the baby. P.S. I love chard!
You just do you❤❤❤
Healthy family comes first!!! Thank you for sharing your family and homestead as you can. And introducing the perpetual chard! New one for me, ordering some today! Blessings on the Hollar Family Homestead!🌻🐛Carolyn in Ohio ❤
I am glad you are taking care of yourself during this time. I'm surprised one of the boys hasn't tried to take over the editing, they are so good at everything they do thanks to the teachers they have in you.
Meg, always the rockstar!!!
You and Ben need to take care of yourselves and your family and do what you got to do to make it work
I will be praying for you my little peace of mind for you to have a easy delivery Ben you are in charge keep the fort down blessings for the family
Take care of yourselves!! Life is life, my friends!!! Cannot wait to see the new addition to home and the arrival of a sweet baby!!!
I’ll take whatever of the videos you are up to editing. You take care of you and the family. Love you all and have enjoyed watching you but you need your rest also! Love watching you in the kitchen and all your knowledge. Love ya! Have a great day all!
Just me and the sugar bowl! Right Buggy! Lol
Is that the perpetual chard that you harvested from the greenhouse? Yay, you are corning your own beef brisket. That's so neat to hear! The recipe for the brine is much appreciated. Thanks for the heads up about Tuesday and Thursday posting of videos! I agree that you both have sooo much to do before the new baby comes! I so understand! So glad you got the greens steamed! It was fun to watch you do this and Jack and you enjoying sampling them. Ben liked them too! I hope some of them get to the freezer! Thanks for this video Hollar family!
As long as you don't leave us. You do what is best for your family.
Amen to this!
Thanks for updating us. You need to care for you and the wee one first. Problem is, you ‘ve spoiled us and withdrawals are likely to happen. lol ! We’ll get through it of course. Take care and God bless you and the family.
Meg, I love that you acknowledge the places where you get your inspirations and instructions! Take your time with videos. You all have a LOT going on. We will be here.
Meg, you are number one, so we all understand , don’t make yourself ill because you come first, and it will be something to look forward to, and like your family, we will look forward to seeing the new member of the family. ❤️🇬🇧🙏
I love corned venison. I've been corning meat for decades. I mix all the salt sugar and spices up and coat the meat dry, stick it all in a zip lock and turn daily for 10-14 days. The meat makes it's own juice and turns out everytime.
Do you rinse the meat before boiling or roasting it? Are your measurements similar to Meg’s? 😊 thanks
@@belieftransformation yeah, I rinse before cooking. I mix 1 T salt to 1/4 c brown sugar per pound of meat. I also like to add mustard seed and basil to the spice mix.
Weather is shocking for work of late.. respect to you if you managed 1 video a week ..think everyone wants things to run as smoothly as possible for you with everything ahead. It's time to focus on the additions folks! Much love and respect to you all.
Two days a week is good. I hope everything is going well for you and your family. This is such a special time that is so precious for your little family. We understand that sometimes you have to savor these special times alone, just the 8 of you.
I love days in the kitchen. Take care ❤️🙏😘
Meg and Ben, we love y’all so much 💜! Just rest and relax and we’ll be here when y’all are ready!
You and your family are THE most important thing. Make sure you are giving yourself space to breathe. Love your videos, we have been so inspired by your journey.
I love you all so much! We will all be here with bells on whenever you post! Hugs to you all!!!
We pray for all you Hollars every day. 😍🙏🕊❤️
Your chard is so pretty.
It's a new season of life for you! Taking care of yourself is important. And the family needs are important. Get your rest while you can. We will still be here as the videos come out.❤
Your family comes first! Always! Looking forward to seeing your family grow! Prayers always!
Hi..... Meg and Ben thanks you for showing your video homestead bye
I think you should do what ever you want with filming. You and baby and family come first. Get rest and enjoy your time before baby arrives and I know just how much work you have got to prep before the little one comes. Love your videos and have a blessed Easter Meg, Ben and family. Greetings from the UK.
You prepare as needed for your new little one. Your health and your family comes first. You know that old saying, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder!” So we will miss your frequent videos but will love you more for it!
Aww girl , you guys do whatever you need to do , we will be here , I think I can speak for most folk when I say your health and family come first , love to all of you and this wonderful community you have built!
All the best Jules 😘💕
Hi Meg and Ben! An easy video idea for postpartum that would be interesting to all us nosy foodies would be tours of your food storage, aka what's in the fridge or freezer/pantry or dinners for a week. Love the food content!
[Sentimental]
Since veggie steamer is slowly breaking down. When the time comes to toss it. Don’t toss it!
Instead, break it down and turn it into garland. place with yearly holiday decor and enjoy the memories for years to come!
We all love your family and your video's.
You take care of you.
You owe us nothing.
Looking forward to the new baby. Take care. ❤
Appreciate the warning about the schedule change - because, like everyone else, I get concerned when we don’t hear from you for a while. Please just take care of yourself and your family and don’t worry about anything else.❤️
So glad you shared the update, so I am not worrying when I don't see your videos coming up. So excited about the new baby 👶 🙏
You do what’s best for your family we will continue supporting you guys
I’m glad you are putting the baby’s and your health above the videos. Family is most important.
Do what your family needs to prepare for your beautiful baby and you need to take care of “The Momma” ❤️❤️❤️
God bless you all! 2 days a week is plenty good. Please be careful not to over do things! 😊
Family comes first. Do what needs to be done. Enjoy your nesting months. Best Wishes ❤
You take care of you. Love to you all.
Fully understand i'll still be here when you do post.
Meg, I don’t know how you get everything done on your homestead. You amaze me watching all you do. Absolutely love your cooking videos. So interesting to me. Take care and don’t exhaust yourself before this new little nugget gets here.
Enjoy this special season of your life. It goes by so quickly. Take care and know that we will be here whenever you post. ❤
Buggy hears the word sugar and she's all about that ! Lol
You should do whatever is best for family. I am often personally to busy to watch the subscribed videos when they are posted. You post when can and viewers will watch when they have time.
Take care of yourself Meg. We love y'all and want you to be healthy and happy. Don't worry about us. We'll be here.
You've made me realize I need that kind of chard in my little veggie area!! Does it go dormant during winter and return every spring or do you have to replant each season? Your corned beef brisket will be so delicious!! Listen honey, nothing in this world is as important in a pregnancy than to take the utmost care of yourself. Please know we don't want to add anymore stress or extra work for us. Right now you need more rest than you ever have. You've got your own "construction" going on as you grow that precious baby!!! Rather than videos for us, I'd rather know you are readying yourself this last trimester for yours and baby's best health! And it's an important time for you and Buggie to help her be ready for baby brother or sister! It will be a big adjustment for her. Rest more and we won't be going anywhere...we will be right here as always!!!!!❤
I'm GLAD to hear that you're cutting back a bit! It's time to get that nest ready and you need some rest. I've been thinking that you've been doing too much for a little while now. You have looked more tired lately. Growing a human takes a lot of energy. It's good to hear that you're prioritizing yourselves. That comes first before making videos. Given how quickly Buggy came you definitely are going to need to make sure you're ready for this next little bundle. Nest away my dear and enjoy the process. I hope Ben has his catcher's mitt ready for this one! 🙂
I totally understand cutting down on videos. I don't think most viewers realize how much work it actually is to vlog. Especially when you've got so much going on on top of it all. You guys are awesome and you guys and Sow the land are my favorite homesteaders and the only two I watch faithfully because y'all are real and down to earth people 💖
That sounds good, we will all miss seeing you all as much as we do. We all completely understand, God bless each of you. Take care of each other.
I admire that you all know when you need a little break. I look forward to another little buggy in the picture in a few months. Take care of yourself! See ya'll on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Take care of yourself and family. Your true fans will be here wishing you the best.
Blessings on you for making you and your family the priority.
In the UK we call it perpetual spinach, the thing that I noticed about it, is that it does not grow as vigorously during the winter as the Chard, but the snails leave it mostly alone. Unlike the Chard, which they appear to consider a delicacy, and never a leaf appears in the kitchen that it does not look like a colander.
That is wisdom from an experienced mum. Go for it. God Bless. 😄♥️😌👍
Thanks for your great videos! Please do what you need for your family. God bless!
Take your time and take care of yourself, will be looking forward to seeing your next video when time and life permits ❤
Take the time you need! Enjoy and we will all look forward to any videos!
Ben, don't be having those melt downs on Meg, I know it wasn't buggy she's to mature. Lol
You guys do what you must. Meg take care of you and that baby. I'll miss but I be here when you post. Great video.
No worries about posting videos!
Live your FULL LIFE! CZcams family understands. Please take your time.
Glad you are taking a break. We can always go back and watch previous videos. :)
Lol- I have that metal steamer basket! I think I’ve lost a petal. Good you are taking time for yourselves. I hear a good nap is helpful!
I love that cookbook! Hugh Fernly really changed my outlook on food back in the early 2000s when I lived in England and I continue to believe that way of life. Even though my life is not that perfect yet.
Family comes first!!! Take it easy, rest, and prepare! Nancy from Nebraska
Nothing beats fresh Swiss chard every night in the summer!
Totally understand 👍🫶 You're taking care of family, I think it's beautiful. Sending love and light. 🫶
We all love your videos and your family. Y’all are in His hand and He gives you wisdom. You do what is best for you. Take good care of yourselves.
Can’t wait until you have your baby. You’re all blessed.
While i will miss seeing the hollar channel on a daily basis. I too agree you, your family and your life is so much more than CZcams. I will still love ❤ you guys and i will still be here for your twice weekly videosand of you need to make them longer that is always welcomed.. Take care you all! Lots of love❤ and hugs and happy family life! 😍🥰😘
Thanks for sharing what you do! Life is crazy for us all! Enjoy the end of your pregnancy 😊
Do what you can. We will pray for you guys & the new little one. Blessings, blessings to you & your family. ❤🎉
I would bet that little whosits was happy to have all those green leafy vitamins and minerals!
Looking forward to getting to see the new baby, get rest and get ready for the new baby, wonder if it will be another daughter or another son, doesn’t matter, just healthy, I bet Buggy is excited to be a big sister! The new building addition will be such a wonderful thing to have, I know it will be awesome to have lots more space!
So glad you are slowing down a bit. Baby and Mama health comes first❤
