She use ta be my girl
She use ta be my girl
She had a charming personality
The girl was so right for me
She's my girl
And if I had the chance
Lord knows I'd take her back

I was ten years old then and would be so happy when this played on KFRC SAN FRANCISCO, my sister and I would go in my grandparents bedroom which had a huge mirrored sliding isn't door and water h ourselves dance and dance. Such fun.
For real!!

And you know what old school music is the thing right now now Not the new things this is the best thing to post school
I’m 14 and this is the only type of music I listen to including The Temptations, Frankie Lymon, Carl Carlton, The Gap band and many more than that! I’m glad my grandmother showed me this type of music
Me too I'm 13 and love this music I m the old soul of the family and my siblings like old school music too I just study the music artists every since I studied Sam Cooke at 11 I haven't stopped since I like Frankie lymon, the platters, The Drifters, Otis Redding, Etta James, Nina Simone, and many more. Glad to see more kids around my age like this music some adults think we don't know music but we do
@@Unknownartist-qo7ne yes it’s a shame that kids our age don’t appreciate this type of music and they don’t understand the culture around it

Listening to this music, makes me feel young again
"She wanted more than I can give, but as long as I live, she'll be my girl"....
I was in that same exact situation. She wanted all of me all the time, but I was too blind to see that she was the one for me. I'm sorry to say that she passed away last year and oh how I wish I could turn back the hands of time.
@carlloud1187 I feel you, man. I'm sorry your love passed away.. That particular lyric touched me because she wanted more than I could give at the time. We were so young then. I wasn't where I wanted to be at 21 years of age. She felt that she was in the way of my progress. I was a few credits away from graduating. Between school, work, and trying to maintain a relationship, I guess something had to give. I loved that girl.. And I know she loved me, but she was right for calling it when she did. I think she went back to the UK 🇬🇧, I'm not quite sure, but she will always be my girl.
THATS THE 70dz 4 ya great lyrics

The O'Jays were at their musical best with a great combination of 50's doo wop and 70's disco on a great song written and produced by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff that hit number one on the R&B charts for five weeks and hit number four on the pop charts in the summer of 1978.

First heard this when I was on my way to Travis AFB, CA from Plattsburgh AFB, NY, on the kings highway somewhere between Toronto & Detroit in 1978. Man I was blown away. Could hardly wait to get to my new assignment so I could buy this fabulous song. And then right after I heard another great song by ZZ Hill called, 'This Time They Told The Truth'. Those two songs will live with me until I'm gone from this earth.
