Great way to look at it! I agree. Older women need to ignore the trash talk about us. All the garbage about hitting a wall. Men hit the wall too we just are better at overlooking it. We are not useless after 50. These ladies proved that. We have options. Maybe not like we did when we were in our 20s but we are wiser and better at sorting through those options. And if no one fits, we are good with ourselves. Being emotionally healthy and happy alone is inevitably good for the one we will meet.
God she has so much class. And there she is comforting HIM about breaking the promise to her family.

That is exactly why I don't think Gerry is the great guy so many others do. He manipulated all these women with his proclamations of love...even telling Faith's family. And there he and Faith sit, she is broken hearted and yet h

I loved the show, but much has come out since he was on. There has been a lot come out that is not great about the show or even him. Watching him say things like he did to her and her family was just cruel. I thought the show was lovely in the beginning, but as time went on, I thought how terrible he was making these older women feel with the things he was saying…and then did not pick them. There was no ego and pride involved with the women. But you don’t think there is ego and pride in a man that gets to choose from twenty five women, make out with them, tell their parents lies ( she let him off way too easy). He promised her that too once. I just think the whole show is good for the man or the woman who is the bachelor or bachelorette. It is never too good for the women. And in this case, many had not been married for years, but still found getting close to someone very hard. Did he do one thing to guard her heart? Or any of their hearts for that matter. He was widow too, But zero real empathy. No he made her stay until the end. You cannot tell me, that he did not know who he would pick for those last few weeks. If he just picked her the last week or so, and did not know before, his fiancé should be worried. After she saw the show, Theresa should have run.

Oh Gerry, he's the first bachelor that is genuine, you can see him tearing up while Faith talks. He's a real one.

@@j.y.3604I don’t know if Gerry refused to compromise but I definitely saw that Faith had zero intentions of doing so. That said, having horses myself-relocating horses is no small thing, so I would have had big discussions about this issue and probably would have dated long distance to make sure this relationship worked out before making total commitment to where the final living arrangements were made. Both adults should have been open to compromise when it came to living arrangements. These people have grown children. It’s not as if their children are in grade school.

Heartbreaking. Faith expresses what I think many of us feel… passed over, broken relationships and thus we throw ourselves into our adult children, grandchildren and jobs while that wall gets higher. Then you wake up one morning & look in the mirror and that youthful look has made a quiet exit and your alone.

I really wish everyone on these shows would stop throwing around the word 'LOVE' until they get to the final person. Especially, when they're up in age and as vulnerable as some people can be after they've been through so much in life, and have chosen to be alone for so long. You just hope for a 'yes', and prepare your heart for a possible 'no'. And the one choosing should just take it easy, let it flow, and proceed with caution. 😊

I agree! I know myself well enough to say I can feel immediate connection, passion, desire, chemistry but love takes time. If I can't get to know someone, I can't feel I genuinely love them. The beginnings of love may be there but love is an action. If there is no active time being spent then it's not long-term LOVE material imo.
When l look at all the ladies who participated Gerry had a lot of good choices those ladies loved him and each other I look at the laughter and fun they had and each one took something special home that they learned from their experience great job ladies I pray each and every one of you find that special someone you truly deserve God Bless You All.

I so agree! This bothered me so much that he did that and then used the excuse that’s what he was feeling in the moment! So very wrong and hurtful! I lost respect for him in this episode.
I paid a lot of attention to his home visit with this particular woman and she in my mind apparently was happy and tied to where she lived. He had never been on a horse and seemed uncomfortable when he made the effort to ride with her.She gave the impression that she was happy and was going to continue to live there and that's fine but when you marry you have to compromise., and I don't think she wanted to do that.I believe that's why he made decision not to go forward with the relationship and I think he did the right thing for himself and his future !
Exactly! Their lifestyles were too different and not his element at all! He is into water sports and pickleball!!! Not horses and farms! She admitted here that she overlooked these things and now certainly gets it! He likely didn’t want to say it to hurt her!
I am happy that someone else seen this as I did to me it was apparent she was not going to budge.

I do agree he was wrong to profess his love to multiple women and it was juvenile and he should be accountable for his actions. Unfortunately this in fact is a competition vying for the love of one man and all but one woman is going to be hurt in the end.

I really think it was wrong for Gerry to tell several women that he loved them . Saying that is something special and he should have taken it that way. I do believe Gerry is a kind person and men like him are few and I don’t think he meant to hurt anyone but to say “ I love you “ I think he should have thought it over before doing it and only say it to one lady the one that he really loved.

On the one hand, if they continue the Golden Bachelor show, the producers should be more mindful of where contestants live. It's not so easy to leave your children & grandchildren if you've been living close by them.
It takes an extreme amount of commitment to uproot our lives as we get older. It would be nice if we could be more carefree, but sometimes it's just not that simple. Would Faith sell her horse ranch? Would Gerry move to her home? Would they both move to a new home someplace else? The same can be said about any of the women.
It also depends on whether you're at a stage in your life to go ahead and do what you want and throw caution to the wind.
It's not as though you'd never see your family ever again if you move to another state.
How willing are you to change for love the second time around. You've been there for your family, now it's your time.
What's wrong if you both say to your family, hey, we want to get married and live in Italy, or Hawaii? You can come visit us!

The show was reportedly filmed in 3 1/2 weeks. Hard to imagine the feeling of loss she is describing here - and Faith is gorgeous so hoping there is someone great for her on the horizon.
I liked faith out of all of them I think she's a very genuine lady and she will find love somewhere else I think Gary's completely wrong by saying I love you to three different women when he doesn't even know what the hell love is

Agree with others about having people from all over the country. These are older adults who have established families with children & grandchildren, not like the 20-30's Bachelor shows
Yes I agree, whoever they cast for the main role, the contestants should be people who live in the same region of the U.S. to stay close with their families. Some women even left the show due to family obligations, so they need to consider that heavily next time.

Faith was very firm about her rural lifestyle. She was not interested in moving away from her family. And she felt that Gerry would not be interested in adopting her rural lifestyle. She was not being very flexible. She was no opened to negotiations. Which could be due to her very tough childhood years. Unfortunately that was a turn off for Gerry.

In my mind, if the geography was better, he would have chosen Faith. I hope that this New GB series will change the perimeters of contestents to match the same State as the "star". It might take more advertising in the specific area. But to find people of this age group and station of life to uproot themselves to move thousands of miles away, is ludicris. We're not twenty somethings wanting to "backpack" our long established lives that we worked so hard for. Faith will find the right and better match for her. I love Faith she was such a guiding light and beautiful woman, and I will always wonder what was it that Gerry didn't see in her to keep her. She was truly the one. His mistake that's how the show go's. This was the first time I have ever watch this program and I am a man 69 years old and single but a caregiver at the moment. I enjoyed it but was ever sad for the ones for had to leave.

It's a milder version in older guys in this case between seeing women as mother/whore.Faith empathized that she liked adventure spontaneous things and that's how she was seen but she also said she had a deeper side where she wanted to have a commited relay with some one and feel safe as she basically said here.The date she had with him was basically just what she wanted outdoors,risks climbing mountains and fast vehicles with not much fear on her part.After he told her he loved her explained it was in the moment like the good time he had on the date? Says she was in the bad girl category.Meanwhile Theresa overly sentimental sharing they both lost spouses from the first meeting ,all about family but he still lied to Faith family says he bought into Theresa lifestyle as it was motherly.He went to the comfortable life of his wife and a lot of the other women previously married.Not able or not wanted to see the depth to Faith she had.This is a flaw I see in many men of that age which us my generstion.They go

He made the wrong decision by not choosing Faith for putting convenience over love. They both had strong family ties and personal agendas, but if love was real, they could have figured out how to be together. He is a nice person, but he is not looking for a strong independent woman. Convenience for him. Never tell you are in love to someone unless you are sure. He might regret his choice.

I watched the whole series and thought it was very staged because it is TV. But to throw the words I love you to mutiple women and kiss on most of them just does not make much sense to me. But then this is TV ...they need to keep ratings up.

It’s hard watching women this age, most of whom have long been divorced or widowed, getting their hearts broken.
The hurt and devastation seems much deeper and more palpable than with the 20-somethings. Before coming on the show, these women had largely given up on ever finding love again. They know their time is running out and their options have dwindled. It’s painful seeing them so disappointed. I can see many of them possibly falling into a depression after this. 💔
