It looks like the speed of Russian advances is starting to increase.
They have been winning everywhere for 27 incredible months now.
In fact they are retreating on more parts of the frontline, incl. Vovchansk

@@LeoBram1959 They never intended to advance on Volchansk. Which is why we've seen the Russians making defensive lines behind their current positions.

@@MissingThe90s In the east the Ukrainians are genetically the same as the Voronej region Russians, the language is almost identical, the culture the same, they been there for centuries. There is more difference between southern Russians and the ones in Moscow or Saint-Peterborough. Borders are only a political status.
In the 15 century all the region between Dnipro and Volga was considered a border region under the Mongol ruling inhabited by the Don Kazakhs. The arrival of the Slavs wasn't from the north but from the west under the pressure of the Polish Lithuanian commonwealth. So is a very complex topic to say who is the real owner.

The Ukrainians have changed their tactics, Syrsky must minimize the losses and prevent a breakthrough. When the situation isn't advantageous anymore for them, they are retreating.Thus they are building a lot of defensive on the Kramatorsk- Pokrovsk line. The Russians should arrive at this line in the winter.
The theory is that as long that Ukrainian state doesn't collapse, the territory occupied by Russia isn't internationally recognized. The US armament companies have orders for 5 years already thus US will support Ukraine another 5 years regardless of the president.
Their hope is that Russia will be forced to freeze the front and in 5-10 years Putin will be too old or dead. Then another Perestroika will force Russia to return to the 1991 borders and pay retribution.
I will be not surprised if NATO will officially send troops to defend parts of Ukraine. As long as a single Ukrainian town isn't under Russian occupation, a "free" Ukrainian government will suffice.
Russia had in the history a lot of such events were she was forced to concede at the negotiation table territories that she won on the battleground. Only if China is starting a big war ( and winning) maybe the US will agree to accept the recognition of the territories in return of Russian neutrality.
