- The Flat Light is a Textural Flange Shifter. Which is to say it’s a pedal meant to move and shift your sound around and it has some flangers inside. Let’s Explain It All:
A three mode switch selects between Detune, Resonate, and Echo modes.
The MIX knob controls the blend of wet (affected) and dry (unaffected) signal. 100% dry to the left, 100% wet to the right.
The RATE knob controls the rate of the flanger.
The DEPTH knob controls the intensity of the effect (depth in Detune and Resonate modes, Resonance in Echo mode).
The SHIFT knob controls:
- Pitch shift in Detune mode, from an octave down all the way left to an octave up and perfect fifth above that all the way right. Lightly to heavily detuned sounds are available in the middle of the sweep.
- Resonance in Resonate mode. This gives the signal some extra intense ringing sounds, with pitched resonance occurring at high settings.
- Delay time in Echo mode. All the way to the left eliminates the echo entirely.
BYPASS turns the pedal on and off using a soft-touch relay bypass.
TILT maximizes a control temporarily - either RATE or SHIFT depending on where the internal EXP switch is set. When the footswitch is pressed, the control is at max; when the footswitch is released, the control is where the knob or external expression is set.
EXP allows expression pedal input, to control the RATE or SHIFT knob externally.
The Flat Light runs on standard 9V DC center negative power.

Love how this company always puts a new twist on old stuff. Always pushing the boundaries. Keep it up guys!
instablaster...
You are just the coolest pedal company!
Awesome, unique pedals, great humour!
Thanks Helmut, glad you like it.
These tech demos function exactly as I beleive intended,- they explain in detail, usually how their builds differ from other manufacturers.
As much as I dig the Mr.Black Shepards End, this goes farther into the less classic territories I'm interested in pursuing.Good fun for experimenting, with a little Rock compatibility as well when dialed back.
Y’all are ruining my bank account. Stop making such great pedals!
Just played through one today. So maybe crazy but usable sounds
Taking FX and doing things to them = OBNE Genius.
excellent!
Now this is a demo. Get the playing and the talking done at the same time instead of wasting my time like everyone else lol
This is a cool pedal. I may have to get one
Cool stuff the visual clipping gave me epilepsy though
What is the dog barking setting?
If I can only afford 3 of your pedals I’d get Visitor, Minim and then I can’t decide what the 3rd one should be. Dweller? Something else?
how about a fuzz or distortion
Dweller kicks all of the butts. It works real well before other delays and reverbs. You can get it sounding like a tumbling stack dominos. Very rhythmic and usable. Two thumb picks way up.
The Haunt covers 80% of all Fuzz & Drive needs.
I'm guessing a digital flange?
Hey guys; anymore live videos coming?
we’ve had most of the team working from
home, so we cut down on the live shows, but i think we should be able to get them going about two weeks into the new year.
@@oldbloodnoise Far Out!
Interesting pedal, good demo, annoying AF editing.
Thanks Jeff!
