Right I agree with you totally on that. Why would you want to pay all that money for canned string stream beans and box mashed potatoes? That is very true. When you think about southern food, you think about homemade from stretch mashed potatoes, freshly picked string beans I agree.

What's crazy is the chef from Hell's Kitchen/ Restaurant makeover came to her establishment and ate her up one side and down the other. She made the changes only temporarily and went back to a lot of the ways that set her back and caused some chaos within the establishment and staff. I pray that she's able to make adjustments to have much continued success! RVA loves Ms. Shane!😊🥰

This was an amazing interview, hands-down!! DC was doing his job adding a variety of drinks and entrées, tasting, and then given reviews. Then, 2 black cooks owners, entrepreneurs discussing and talking about the restaurant, clientele, and horrific event that happened to her other restaurant that day, discussing how she felt because she hadn’t had a chance to process it all while looking composed. This was a great interview. This touched on black female restaurant, owner, wanting insight, wanting to grow and seeking information this really uplifted my spirit this evening as I am a cook myself so I really understand this. Darius keep up the good work and thank you so much🎉turned on some house music and now I am cooking in my kitchen due to the interview🎉🎉lol all I need is a disco ball😂

She needs to look at her inventory and what food she’s ordering. Check shortage. She may be over ordering on food. I would be double checking the numbers far as orders submitted and paid.
I had to comment again as I went when it was a hole in the wall and the food was amazing so to hear Darius review hurt. But to see her there like when I was talking to Darius was just like when I visited. I was so touched and went into tears 😢 to see her approach Darius and ask him about the food and he gave his honest opinion and she admitted to cutting corners. God will bless her 🙏🏽

Having gone to this restaurant, I understand his critiques. It's not bad, but some small changes can make it amazing. My personal suggestions: 1. Maybe open a little earlier to allow a lunch crowd ... 2. Allow takeout. I came one time, didn't know I needed a reservation, asked for a to-go order, & was denied ... 3. Maybe have some small events like a live jazz night, comedy night, etc. It would be so nice b/c the restaurant is beautiful 😍
Sorry but we grew up eating stewed tomatoes. Chunks of tomatoes w/butter, sugar & bread in it w/beans & cornbread. Grew up in Danville, Ill. My parents are both from different parts of Kentucky so I don’t really know where it comes from.
I like stewed tomatoes, but just a touch of sugar. Grew up on that in DC. Virginia roots. Love them with navy beans cooked with smoked turkey or ham hocks. New to the channel. Darius,I am so glad you were honest with her. I wonder how she is doing today. I must say that most lower to mid scale restaraunts are not making fresh string or poIe beans. Who has the time to snap the two ends, pull the strings out, wash, and then cook them? You had to tell her about those large leaf collards and can gravy because how else is she to improve. This was an awesome review filled with love, compassion, and patience. Boy did you exercise patience. I pray her business & blessings grow bigger. She was open to improving her business.

The restaurant business ain't no joke!! The food is good and the restaurant is full. I'm sure her issue is on the back end with food cots etc. If you could team her up with a successful black mentor that would be amazing.

She needs to look at her inventory and what food she’s ordering. Check shortage. She may be over ordering on food. I would be double checking the numbers far as orders submitted and paid.

I had to comment again as I went when it was a hole in the wall and the food was amazing so to hear Darius review hurt. But to see her there like when I was talking to Darius was just like when I visited. I was so touched and went into tears 😢 to see her approach Darius and ask him about the food and he gave his honest opinion and she admitted to cutting corners. God will bless her 🙏🏽

Having gone to this restaurant, I understand his critiques. It's not bad, but some small changes can make it amazing. My personal suggestions: 1. Maybe open a little earlier to allow a lunch crowd ... 2. Allow takeout. I came one time, didn't know I needed a reservation, asked for a to-go order, & was denied ... 3. Maybe have some small events like a live jazz night, comedy night, etc. It would be so nice b/c the restaurant is beautiful 😍
Sorry but we grew up eating stewed tomatoes. Chunks of tomatoes w/butter, sugar & bread in it w/beans & cornbread. Grew up in Danville, Ill. My parents are both from different parts of Kentucky so I don’t really know where it comes from.

I like stewed tomatoes, but just a touch of sugar. Grew up on that in DC. Virginia roots. Love them with navy beans cooked with smoked turkey or ham hocks.
Aside from that…I saw your heart today Darius. You are not fake. I truly believe your going to help this beautiful lady. There’s only more blessings coming your way. She’s got favor attached to her. You know all about what happens when you give. I hear how much you know about God.

I just looked up her restaurant 07.25.24, they are temporarily closed for relocation to Stony Point. I hope everything works out for her.

New to the channel. Darius,I am so glad you were honest with her. I wonder how she is doing today. I must say that most lower to mid scale restaraunts are not making fresh string or poIe beans. Who has the time to snap the two ends, pull the strings out, wash, and then cook them? You had to tell her about those large leaf collards and can gravy because how else is she to improve. This was an awesome review filled with love, compassion, and patience. Boy did you exercise patience. I pray her business & blessings grow bigger. She was open to improving her business.
I’m glad he’s honest. Folks be thinking everyone can open a restaurant and if you’re not passionate about food it will show & consumers should know that instead of everybody lying and being fake.
