That was pretty much my team when I was a little kid. With only 25¢, I see Spider-Man, I see Megaman, I’m locking them in.

That guy's Mega Man was decent. Only gripe is he (and most players on Fightcade) do not utilize the Mega Buster. Charge that baby up and catch an unsuspecting opponent with it and They're in for a bad time.
Good games though.
Plus leave shield and the ball missing it would have been a better match

Beat Plane is Megaman's best super, utility-wise.
Hyper Megaman is the best looking though.

When this game was still being play tested at Sunnyvale Golfland his Beat Plane was overkill. You just drove into the opponent with complete invulnerability.

Beat Plane or Rush Drill? Rush Drill is 100% invincible, last I checked, though I'm not sure if you can combo into it except maybe off a Rockball setup or something.
Regardless, even without full invincibility, Beat Plane is (still?) 100% a bullshit super.
This is the best Marvel vs Capcom. It actually looks like a comic book
Yeah, never really like the 3D backgrounds from MvC 2 and CvS 2 to be honest. All the previous Vs game had amazing stages.

it was huge in Central London United Kingdom when it first hit the arcades in 1998 with Chinatown being 2mins away
but Mvc1 for me has the shittest backgrounds by far out of the games from XmenCOTA to Mvc2
Agreed 100% and the soundtrack is amazing too, way better that those generic ass stages and songs from MvC2

Better backgrounds come from earlier versus games. They are waaaaay better than late games.
Adding sound effects and gifs to these FGC vids makes them so much enjoyable to watch. You can't go wrong with them with some good timing.😅😅

That's a mid tier player at best. No rock ball leaf shield and no charging blast. That guy was playing MM way under his potential.

@@rayplaysgames_RPG the leaf shield gives you a little extra defence and can be used as a projectile and the rock ball is just to annoy the crap out of people.😀
This guy's mega man wasn't really cutting it. Makes me want to shake the rust off and get back into this game. Seeing this makes me want to play again.

Megaman/Ryu was my team in this game. I played that team for over a decade.
Mega Man is one of my favorites to play as in Marvel vs Capcom 1, but then I was always a fan of the classic games, and am not nearly as much an expert on this game as Justin.

I’ve definitely seen Megaman utilized by high level players back in the late 90s at my Arcade. Much more of a zoner with the leaf shield in queue and the mega buster at full charge waiting for an opponent to slip up. This player’s play style of Megaman is way more calm than what I’m used to

Hmmm. Strange. I know Justin played MvC1 in CTF, and while I didn't encounter _this_ type of Beat Plan abuse until several years after MvC1's heydey, I'd be surprised if no one in CTF used Beat PLane like this (maybe they stuck to the more common Rockball traps).
But yes, Beat Plane is 100% a bullshit super, which is saying something considering what else is in MvC1. It has like 1F start-up - it's basically MvC1's version of AHVB, and is 100% safe afterwards. AND he gets to mix you up for free simply by not firing and/or going behind you. It's less OP and more _extremely irritating_, since Megaman isn't _that_ much of a threat otherwise. It's very much like Spider-Man and his pogo-superjumping crossup nonsense.

I remember this one guy I faced in Marvel 2 with Mega Man and he used to use Mega Man and I think Gambit and he used to do these crazy lockdowns with the rock ball

mostly its not practical. The biggest problem with megaman is he doesn't do any chip damage outside of charged buster and charging buster removes the ability to push block or tech throws. so one tick throw resets the buster. He doesn't have a way to really open up good players so he lived as a niche sort of anti-duo team with the invulnerable start up frames on supers or the drill but there were ways to mitigate that. I had to educate Duc on this when he tried me in a tournament back when megaman was considered top tier
The soundtrack is so nostalgic! I wish I never got rid of this game. The 2D fighter that got me into fighting games, still one of the greats and I used to main Megaman back in the day.

great stuff..shudve wished he could use not the S tiers just for a change. he done it many times in MvC2 even the dreaded 1pt team he did it spectacularly & beat players with uber low tiers. im sure movesets and supers are almost the same for MvC and MvC2 except for the assist mechanisms. still looking forward for that day/content to come. anyways kudos mr JW for playing/shining FGs from the old arcades. may i suggest playing some of the fatal fury series as well? particularly the Garou Densetsu: Wild Ambition from ps1? 🙂

Thay guy was ok at best. He delayed the tornado too long after the sliding kick and wasted assists. There are MegaMan beasts on fightcade. They just choose to play other characters against you because you are jwong
