I think that rather than changing their voices, they learnt to control them and worked a lot on their range so now they're more comfortable singing higher. You can still hear their raspy and deep vocals in some songs! Like Jin in Dionysius and Jimin in the live versions of IDOL and ON especially and some background vocals!

13:56 I don’t think they’re all fluent but they all can speak it relatively well, when it comes to concerts in Japan I think Hobi seems most confident speaking Japanese in between songs and in some behind the scenes videos there are some clips of them still practicing and some of them have said that they are not as confident in it. It’s also required for most kpop trainees to learn Japanese as it is their biggest market for music

@@dxwxt ohh yes dear you're absolutely right...V's ost "Christmas Tree" which he wrote for a friend's (who was also his co-actor in his previous drama "Hwarang") upcoming drama "Our beloved Summer." A snippet was already released on Dec 6th on the very first episode of the drama. The full song is yet to release & it will be out on 24th December. I'm looking forward to it.

This song hold a very special place in my heart, it was back in 2014 (wen this song was released) that I became an army back then I was in a very dark place feeling depressed all the time but wen I was looking thru the music channels this song came on kerrang and from that moment I knew I'd be in this bangtan rabbit hole for life, also it was this MV wen I first saw my ult bias jimin and I just fell in love with his vocals since then also his high note always send shivers down my spine, so u could say I owe these guys, and this song especially, my life.
also at the start they shout "oppa ya" (which I always thought was fire to start with lol).
Also this was the first choreo I learnt that I can actually do and also you see jin pushing the girl into the locker well in the behind the scenes he kept apologising to her as he thought he hurt her

It was just after this that I became Army. I was a bit late. My first song was Just One Day but I heard it about a year later. It is so much fun to see someone going through the journey in the same order that we did. It makes me miss sleeveless Jimin, RM's platinum mohawk, and Jungkook's Timberland and White shirt phase.

Rm is the one we know that he is fluent in Japanese.. I don't know for the others. But I think they learn the lyrics🤗 V has a deep voice even RM. RM has to up his pitch so we can hear what he is saying. They said it a Vlive I think. So the deepest is RM but V has a deep voice. They perform their Japanese versions when they go to Japan. This MAMA performance was actually in the red carpet with no real audience but journalists and photographers because MAMA didn't let them perform at the actual award show, and in 2013 they weren't even invited even tho they were nominated. BTS really struggled a lot and to see that they are now the kings of MAMA and they are the main character Eveywhere they go.They've come a long way it's really motivational.

The controversy after the MV and the song being ‘offensive’, BTS have learned, reflected and made the song Boy with Luv (ft Halsey) to sort of replace this. So there is the transition they did from this song to a better one, in the legendary 2019 MMA award show performance. It’s like the last big stage performance of Boy in Luv they did. I wish you ended your reaction with that (just that song and not the whole performance because it’s a whole feast I tell you), it would look chronological and complete for Boy in Luv saga. There has to be a cut of just this song from BTS on MMA 2019 on CZcams. When you watch the transition to the other song, you’ll know why I said it make you feel like it completes a chapter.

This was awesome, I love it when you look at a song from so many different angles - and your genuine enjoyment is so cool. I love Boy In Love, and Tae really does shine, his voice is incredible- and Jimin’s background ad libs towards the end - wow! BTS took some flack for this song when they released it, which I don’t really understand - I am a girl and it does not offend me, and it certainly doesn’t degrade me - it’s just a fun song about how confusing having a crush and falling in love are when you are a teen…🤷♂️😂
As to their fluency in Japanese, it depends on how you define “fluency”. For me, living in SA which has 11 official languages, fluency means you speak it almost like a native speaker - your accent and pronunciation are good and your vocabulary and grammar will get you through almost any situation. So although they all speak Japanese, if we use that definition of fluency, none of them is truly fluent, although Namjoon and Hobie are really good and could be fluent with just a bit more immersion, Jimin and Tae are also really good, and Jin, Jungkook, and Yoongi can get by with very little help. This is just what I observed, and I dug around for other opinions from people who are fluent in Japanese and this seems to be the consensus.

Rm, J-Hope, and Jimin can speak fluent Japanese. The others learn as it is needed. But they are all at least bi-lingual with Korean + 1other language if not more.

Omg, this was my first song I heard from them conciously🥹.
Before that I already listened to kpop, a lot of oldies from big bang, shinee and girls generation.
And I think I came across a cople songs from the school trilogy but like other groups I never paid to much attention to who it was, until a friend inflenced my whole first friend group ever, to see who they were.
Leading me to watch their videos to get to know them as people not just their music, (before that I didn't know that there were kpop vlogs and that), then I compleately fell in love and it has been seven years now 😭😭😭
This was the first time BTS perform at MAMA. It's was short and it's was literally at the red carpet. Now they performances at MAMA are like 19 minutes long.

fyi MAMA is the only award show that didnt invite BTS on their debut year.. the performance you just watched was the first time they got invited and performed there.. that was not the main stage .. just the red carpet.. but they still gave their best .. they are so thankful for that opportunity..now BTS is the first and only artist to swept all 4 grand prizes there and they did it for 3 consecutive years now

I fully expect every single song you react to to be "your favourite BTS song ever"..lol One of the great things about BTS is that they always made songs that were relatable to whatever stage of their lives they were in. As Hitman Bang said, he wanted them to tell their true stories. I couldn't honestly picture BTS manhandling a girl, but it was sweet to see them all "shooting their shot". I had never seen the Japanese MV so that was cool to see. Thanks for taking a deep dive into this great song.
