Vicken was a true beast who had huge jump & timing on the rebound even he was 1.92 cm only .. But, for the records.. We lost that game Vs syria by 4 points deficit even we had the great roni Seikaly leading our lebanese national team .. That game was held in 1999 west Asia qualifiers for fiba Asia 1999 .. After That, our lebanese national team exploded in his final game in these qualifiers winning by 30 points vs Jordan 90 - 60 , where the NBA superstar Roni Seikaly shined scoring points from all areas ( mid range, dunks) ... I was there in Camille Chamoun stadium, Pierre Gemayel arena .. Great memories for Lebanese basketball .. Thanks Vicken for posting this video . His name was " miloud minesseur " as i do remember and was like a gift from French federation to Lebanese federation .. The main problem for our lebanese national team was missing big guys in the paint not to mention bad mentality from that coach .. Guys, you were legends ( You vicken, alongside mechantaf, doumiaty, yasser hajj, elie nasr, the supreme defender Marc kozah, ghazi boustany, and abdo chidiac as backup , jasem kansou ..).. Big mistakes were made in 1999, as The Lebanese federation back then didn't naturalize a foreigner player who could give the team big boost to face the biggest teams in Asia ( even if we didn't lose Seikaly, we should get a foreigner to help our national team and that was huge mistake from Lebanese federation.. The tallest guy was Yasser hajj 1.96 cm tall as I do remember .. After missing the presence of the mighty roni Seikaly in Fiba Asia 1999 finals, due to Fiba regulations after he represented USA in 1986 ... Even with presence of Seikaly with Lebanese national team, the Lebanese ferederation was supposed to naturalize foreign player in order to help you guys in your Asian task.. Even so, you got 3 wins in preliminary round vs UAE, Philippines & big win vs south Korea.. But in second round, we lost vs China ( expected loss vs Yao Ming 2.27 cm, mank batere 2.10 cm the first player ever to play in NBA & Wang zizi 2.14 cm & co ).. After that we lost against the greatest team in Saudi's Arabia history (marwani, sanahani, jouhani, yanba3awi, moghrabi, madani, abed mohsen al mouwalled, mohamad hadi, mohamad Taher ..), led by mighty and late coach Andrew young who led Lebanon national team after 2 years back in 2001 .. After, we lost in 3rd game vs Kuwait, it was very bitter lost, in a game where we committed more than 20 turnovers.. Finally, we trespassed Syria a single point clinching 7th spot in a game where you guys exploded especially yasser hajj scoring 24 points & grabbing 9 rebound .. I do remember these moments like there were yesterday .. That participation was so good regardless of the circumstances ( lack of preparations, bad mentality coaching, losing the mighty roni Seikaly, not having foreigner player, etc ....) ... That participation allowed us to know our strenght & Asian standard .. We used that partication to " naturalize " Joe Vogel in Fiba Asia 2001 where we clinched second spot and the qualifying ticket for Wc 2002 held back then in Indianapolis, USA.. Thank you vicken & co to let us live adorable moments as your generation was the first candle in a very tough road to the greatness .. Also, thank you vicken for giving us much joy and happiness throughout your amazing career

@@Coach_ve sure Vicken .. i totally agree with you .. with proper preparations, good coaching mentality, having roni Seikaly & good naturalized player .. we could go deeper in Fiba Asia & compete with mighty chinese national team back on Asian crown . Let's not forget that this particular Chinese team in 1999 was expectional in all aspects of the game .. all Chinese experts said that 1999's version is the greatest team ever in the history of Chinese basketball & I do agree entirely with them .. They got tremendous players in that particular team & deadly rotation, plus huge bench players.. Yam Ming 2.27 cm ( ex center of Houston rockets, Wang zhizhi 2 13 cm ( ex NBA player with Mavs, clippers & heat), manke batere 2.10 cm who the 1rst player ever to reach NBA, alongside Du feng 2.07 cm who was a great forward and he is currently the head coach of Chinese national whom we have beaten lately 72 - 69 in Fiba Asia 2022 held in Indonesia..
