Samuel Appiah not creepy, cuz that's asking for permission. But it's most likely a turnoff cuz 1) girls can buy things for themselves, and 2) they're just being careful cuz the drink might be spiked with roofies or something..

Do you know what ruins it for the good/nice guys? The ones that are legitimately dangerous, straightforward creepy or obviously only looking for a pretty girl (to sleep with). If there was a way to truly distinguish between those and the good guys, then it wouldn't be so bad to simply approach us girls. Sometimes we can tell, but rarely... most times it looks like the guy could be dangerous or simply is a weird guy.

+Samuel Kiermaier Hi, I'm not the person you originally were talking to. However, as much as I respect you as a person and your views, I have to disagree with your statement. Although it is not harassment if someone offers another adult at a bar to pay for their drink (unless they continue to pursue them after being turned down, or get at an inappropriate distance, perhaps even follow them home, etc. ). However, I think Angisel Kiermaier was referring to scenes like the one where the man took pictures of someone without their consent.
As for the bar scene, she clearly did not go to that restaurant to be hit on by a stranger. Some girls and guys just like enjoying time by themselves without people they don't know hitting on them. It can be off-putting and even scary. If she felt that way, she could have indeed just said, "No thank you. I am uncomfortable with accepting things from people I don't know." Unfortunately, that often ends with the guy coming at an unsafe distance and creepily whispering "we can get to know each other better." Some even follow you home.
I had at least 3 guys follow me home from just school. That wasn't even at a bar where people typically, and wrongfully assume that everyone's sole purpose for being there is to meet someone. And even if that was someone's reason for going, they should never feel pressured to enter a relationship, exchange sexual favors, or even have a seemingly simple conversation at the expense of their own discomfort, fear, or even dislike. I can understand the person that harshly rejects someone at a bar for fear that they could be misunderstood as "playing hard to get" so the person continues to pursue them and the other person fears for their life. Being harsh is still not ideal. I'm just saying I understand it as someone who has had terrible experiences with people being inappropriate after I attempted to be polite. It's just not a pleasant experience that any one wants to chance if they know they can be stalked or assaulted again.
