When my husband of 37 years passed, I found keeping busy was helpful. We need solitude, time to cry and time to grieve; but we shouldn’t spend all our time in that state. Life goes on. Death for those still here is the ending of a chapter and and a new beginning. We get to decide how to move forward and sometimes it takes more than one attempt to figure out where we are going next. I have had several changes in the past 3 years; but I am finally finding my strength, confidence, and a new beginning I feel really good about. It seems you are doing the same. Be gentle with yourself and go at whatever pace works for you. I have taken over a month to move into my new home. I have been cleaning, repairing, and improving as I go. It’s been very tiring, but also very rewarding and fun to turn a new space into my home. I wish the same things for you Miss Melinda, strength, confidence, a new beginning and most of all love. 💕
The last few weeks have been a little tough and for a very long time I have felt like a wild dog has been snapping at my heels. I am able to give the wild dog a name now. I will be 64 this year and just diagnosed with autism and now the wild dog has become a little friend at times and a ‘mongrel’ at others. I didn’t want to say anything about my diagnosis but this is a very safe place. I always feel relaxed here and Melinda your voice and everything you do just seems to soothe that ‘mongrel’ at my heels. I just simply wanted to say that you are loved and appreciated by many of us. Well the good news is if you were just diagnosed, in reality you've been autistic your whole life! You now just have a name for it! You've been alright all this time...roll with it! Hugs.

It wasn't until I was about 65 or so that I discovered I had become a fully-formed human being. That I was finally able to understand and contextualize myself and my life in the world and in the universe. My first thought after that was, "Oh, so that's how long it takes!" We have to rack up all those years and miles to be able to look around and really see how it all -- the good days and the crap days -- fits together. I know you know this too. It doesn't make the pain any less painful, but you know it won't last forever. Glad to see your smiling face and hear that you're doing okay.
It lifted my heart to see you have a chic coop. Currently my husband is building me a chicken coop! A dream I have always had but couldn’t do in town. As they say, you’re never too old. The tree is beautiful from age, imagine the stories it could tell. I hope you post a pic of the finished build. As others have said, one day at a time. Blessings.

Glad you're doing okay under the circumstances and healing through nature. I've been spending more time in the forest ( for rest). It's in the small moments of silence ( in nature ) that we heal, feel inspired/ creative... and allow ourselves the peace... in order for the answers to come. Life is certainly a journey. ☘

Hi Melinda! It's really great to see you. Seeing what you're doing reminds me a lot of my grandpa, he lives in a small farm and most of the hen house and fenves are made by himself, it makes me so proud to see you doing such amazing things! I'm going through some struggles too and it's very easy to feel lonely nowadays, but it's greay to have your company and feel a little of your love for life. Lots of love from Brazil!

Peaceful place 💖 other than the sounds of cars passing ... but if you close your eyes and let your mind absorb the sounds it could be the sounds of waves clashing the land along with the birds chirping 😊 the view is AWESOME ❤ I'd definitely be collecting a weird rock from the hillside in the distance for a memory passing thru 😊sending PEACE and LOVE 😊 ❤ luv the girls coop 😊

This is a good day. My great Granddaughter's home was restored to her family by our Lord. The owner of the trailer park where their home was crushed by a tree from a micro-burst has given them a better trailer for the same price as the old one. They are moving in today and tomorrow. The Lord never closes a door but opens a window. There is always a miracle to behold after prayers. Thank you and everyone else who prayed and donated to them. They need the funding. They must replace all the things that were smashed plus all the food in their old home. Thankfully some things were there yet and usable. God is good. Prayer changes things. Thank you Melinda. GBY
Thank heavens they weren’t hurt! ( or I hope they weren’t, you didn’t say) and how wonderful they have another place to live and a little funding to replace their furnishings. It’s a big upheaval, but it worked out ok in the end.❤️🤗🐝
@@deborahdanhauer8525 I posted this on another video of yours. Praise the Lord Nick who slept on the end of the house was at work. He would have been killed. My grandson and great granddaughter were in the kitchen and the tree hit the house, he got her out and the rain was pouring but he was so beside himself because he thought his brother was in his room. The little one is still having PTSD with thunder and thought last nights storm meant their hotel would be hit. They are getting her a counselor. Instead of removing the dead tree that moved back and forth whenever there was a big wind. They asked him 3 times to remove it. He did not. A micro burst hit the tree and it was smashed into one end of the trailer. Almost all their things have to be replaced. So the fund is to replace the things they lost. Praise God. They now are no longer homeless. Thank you so much Deborah!

Age slows us down. We also tend to be more sensitive to high or extremely low temperatures and we tend to tire more easily. My primary aging gripe is having so much to do that I don't have time to do any painting (artistic) or engage in my other numerous hobbies (woodworking, knitting, loom knitting, crocheting, reading, sewing). I spent about 3 hours a day the past couple of days mowing the grass, doing my daily workouts and doing some gardening. But this weekend should prove fruitful in finding time for painting since the yard chores and housework are mostly caught up for the week. I hope you have some success in completing the updates to your chicken coop. It gets pretty hot in your area, so don't forget to stay hydrated and cool off when needed.

From one old person surviving out here to another, your voice is song enough to be my 5 minutes of "hoping for" joy today. a couple of days a week, I forget to look for that joy, and the other five days of the week, I sometimes only spend a minute a day thinking such joyful thoughts as to truly distract me... but... I see you fighting the mundane fight, too and take joy in the fact that even when it wasn't all at once, at least this week, I pieced together five or so moments of such joy.
theres a struggle attached to my life. what a wisdom and comfort to my soul to get your contact. I was threatened and beaten the work night. That happened and went after support, need to take a step at a time. in my language: potato one by one. You are able to care and share some of the essence of life. dear Melinda, healing love I send over for your lungs. I LOOK FORWARD watching your regards 😍your hang pan music too.

Age slows us down. We also tend to be more sensitive to high or extremely low temperatures and we tend to tire more easily. My primary aging gripe is having so much to do that I don't have time to do any painting (artistic) or engage in my other numerous hobbies (woodworking, knitting, loom knitting, crocheting, reading, sewing). I spent about 3 hours a day the past couple of days mowing the grass, doing my daily workouts and doing some gardening. But this weekend should prove fruitful in finding time for painting since the yard chores and housework are mostly caught up for the week. I hope you have some success in completing the updates to your chicken coop. It gets pretty hot in your area, so don't forget to stay hydrated and cool off when needed.
