Thank You Roger, thoroughly enjoyed watching you do your thing. You helped me see new ways to convert my Dremel Drill Press and its Mini XY table into a conventional style Mill. In Nano scale Maybe but still could be done. The Aluminum Blocks are too much for me. I have no other machine tools, But I have a 3D Printer and a good one. I want to see if you end connector Box could be printed. Thank You so much. At 74 I ain;t dead yet, so I want to make more trains and I need a CNC MIll to make motors and Chassis . This may help me out.

    Very slick.
I was really surprised to see what looked like plastic gears driving the spindle. Very odd.
Maybe take some silicone molds of them. In case you need to manufacture some one day.

How do you like the belt drive? I haven't completed the install for having an older, smaller-diameter spindle.

Hi Roger just wondering if you had any issues with rigidity due to the adjustable tilting column?

So you need a big mill and lathe, and an aluminum capable CNC machine to make parts for the small CNC conversion?

Roger, jakiego typu aluminium zastosowałeś?Ja używam AW 7075(PA 9) lub AW 2017(PA6) wydaje mnie się że twoje aluminium jest trochę za miękkie , i nie za dobrze się obrabia ?
Roger, what type of aluminum did you use? I use AW 7075 (PA 9) or AW 2017 (PA6) I think your aluminum is a bit too soft and it doesn't work well?

Hi Rodger, I am just waiting on my mini mill (King) to arrive in Canada. Once it arrives I will be joining your Patron channel. I have built a aluminum frame CNC already and I have a extra 4 axis card. As well as 2 extra stepper motors. So it seems inevitable that this will happen.
But lets say One didn't have stuff already. To add a DRO to these. Do you think "For the money" investing in steppers and cheap controller card is the wise choice? Since you get a DRO on the computer. You can use a wireless controller to control the X-Y-Z.
Although, the manual dial controls are probably not able to be used with the steppers powered?

Hi have a look at the SMC5-5-N-N controller

@@rogerwebb9600 For offline control it looks interesting. But I already have a laptop with full licensed mach 3 to run the CNC and my laser. But the intergrated drivers is tempting.
On another note could you use a dual shaft stepper and have the hand control dial on one end? For basic milling I could use the hand control. Steppers not powered of course.

Some other conversions use a gearbox or belt drive. Have you been happy with having the steppers directly driving the screws?

While this was interesting it may well be one of the least usable or informative videos on the subject. Please just add narration for idiots like myself.
