You got a very wrong notion about the way things will work and how it will happen you forgot that whether we won or not the arbitration that part of the sea is absolutely ours.
I don't mean to be crude but llamas has got his historical analysis on china wrong. While his sequence of narrative is correct from mao zedong, deng xiaoping, jiang zemin, hu Jintao and xi his principal argument that only xi's time did the chinese begin to imagine their superpower designation is completely off-tangent.
The right narrative is very complicated. But in a nutshell, since deng xiaoping china has been wanting to compete with the west in the capital space .He saw the errors of mao zetong and tried to fundamentally reverse his policy. He knew that they failed up to that point. It was time to let the power of capitalism take charge, thus, opened China in 1978.But to do this they needed to be cautious and must bide their time. That's why they were championing the idea of china's quiet rise. When it became clear in 2010 or so that the
CCP would never relinquish power in exchange for some democratic mechanisms to thrive inside China the west began to tighten its policy against a very possible geopolitics challenger. China was and still is mindful of their place in the world and eyed the west under suspicious lens. Even from the beginning, the CCP didn't see the west as partners but as enemies to be outwitted and outgunned in the future just because of what happened 150 years ago referred by the communist party as china's century of humiliation.
I don't see your analysis as incompatible with that of Llamas. However, he is not reffering to plans made in meetings privy to the communist commission or government bodies, or probably thoughts of their leaders, but to concrete movements and mobilization of hostile forces and making infrastructure made by Chinese government, which does closely follow his chronology. Of course you may be right, and the strategy could well have been drawn earlier, but thats only hypothetical.
@@erlinacobrado7947 it's still my opinion that his chronological take is simplistic and missed a lot of historical nuance. Lumping china's policy as 'game- changing' only at the time of xi is misleading. To define an era based on slogans is definitely off-track. It is only aspirational and is not reflective of the reality on the ground and behind the scene.
