As an "almost young" magic book reviewer, I can say young magicians love books as much as older magicians. Love to see positivity towards the young generations of magic, after all, we all have been young at some point. I will check Dominic's channel!
Yes, and that's the important point - age is just a number. We can all unite around love of magic books regardless of how long we've been reading and studying them.

In the last few weeks I have acquired Paramiricles, Theater of the mind box set and Unreal all because of your reviews.. So yes Magic books are still important.

@@EruditeMagic I'm about a third of the way through Paramiricles and I'm loving it. The real question is what to read next? I also just picked up The Definitive Mental Mysteries of Hector Chadwick. So I think that's next.

I was able to grab this book at my local magic store Browsers den of magic in Toronto, Ontario at their used section for 40 Canadian dollars. I got lucky

maybe a little less background music would be great and the mic. seem to be a bit of a howl noise like the mic. a bit far away. Other than that it a great read.
I have a totally off topic question for the people commenting. Recently, I have been reading/viewing material about the Gypsy (Hindu) Thread trick and am left wondering why it wasn't included in more beginner books. Is it too good a trick to be in in a beginner book, I would think it would be a staple. That leads to another video suggestion, what is the best trick to ever be in a beginner book,. Impossible answer but would have several interesting possibilities.

Until I retired early and bought some books last year to round out my collection, I can't think of the last time I bought a magic book (maybe the 1990s?) I can say this, as someone who started in the mid 1970s, I can't think of a better example than Joshua Jay's Magic (combination of book and video) . That's how it should be done. There is something about a book that has permanency and is collectible. Do people have proud collections of DVDs or pdfs more than books? I think where the book finds its niche is its history as an artifact, collectible and source of information that can be made new again. There is usually nothing new under the sun as the saying goes. Going forward books will be published to be read on tablets and the like as we'll likely want to conserve resources and young folks are more attuned to reading off screens. In the end content is just content no matter how it is published or consumed, I just like the nostalgic feel of a book in the hands.
I think there are differences in content, but I see your point. I certainly love the nostalgic feel of a book in my hands, too!
