- I picked up a random 1600 count box full of mostly older baseball cards at an antique mall today. Let's see if we can find any nice rookies or stars inside!

Thanks for watching!
Your voice is made to broadcast the World Series 👍🏻
I recently sold off a large portion of my sealed collection and came across some random loose packs. Since I was only selling boxes and sets I decided to walk down memory lane and open some of the random loose packs and I pulled a 92 Score Joe DImaggio Autograph. Made my day because I knew I was going to take a beating on the other stuff I was selling.
Out of all the guys that do this, I enjoy your style the most!
Thanks Danny! I’m glad you enjoy it!
It's his awesome baseball color voice.
Thank you for taking the time to go through the cards and adding great comments and card histories.
I love going thru old boxes like that too but it's pretty obvious someone picked all the good cards out.
Those 01 Topps are good to look out for Ichiro and Pujols. I bought a box about this size for $7 on marketplace for the fun of the hunt. Found an Ichiro rookie that sold for $45. Not much else but I got a few hundred $1 cards to add to my collection. It's fun to search thru boxes from years when I was not collecting and way more fun than buying a new pack/box for $20-50 and hoping for luck.
The p and g cards were very nice looking. Those sports sportsflix cards took me back down memory lane. I was a kid and thought they were the coolest cards ever made. This was a cool video thanks for sharing
One and a half minutes in and just wanted to say I LOVE these chance boxes! Good luck Jon!
You keep saying you wanna pick up your pace. You're pace is perfect imo. I enjoy when you find a card that sparks a memory. Even for whimsical reasons.
I appreciate you.
Thank you for the kind words.
A lot of sweet cards in that pickup Jon !
I'm a player/team collector and that's the way to go .Hey,if you want to get rid of that David Duval golf card let me know.Great video Jon , thanks for sharing !
Fun stuff! I like hearing the old names from the 80s and 90s. It's also helpful to hear what you find worthwhile in there. My dad left me boxes of cards.
Fun to go through cards like that. Great video! BUT none of them were my favorite card... all tied for last!
Great video, like always. Love your channel
I love watching these vids. Takes me back for sure. Def worth 25 bucks for the chance of a gem. Do it for the hobby👍🏻
I enjoy when you find this kind of stuff!
Really fun box. Thanks for the multiple mentions. I do have that sandberg but I rarely come across that one. That bill van landingham was a first day issue and doubles it's value from a half cent to 1 cent.
@@floydfanTN I do have that one already so ask away my friend...its a very cool card
That was a lot of fun-thanks for going through those with us! Totally worth 25 bucks. That first Sandburg was my fave-you really don’t see those much now.
Great content, love these cards learning a lot watching this video!
Two of my favorite things #1 its a tie, your videos and my first born child.
Great stuff as always love the Bonds King B and that McGwire, Hack Man Leonard
It's always fun to find good cards.
What I liked was the number of HOF'ers in the box. I am putting together a collection of each HOF for each year and some of those Baseball Great cards would be perfect.
And a Yogi Berra! That lou brock and Henderson upper deck is the error card. No writing above plate
. Cool
I'm doing this too and it is a lot of fun. I usually find something that makes the "investment" worth it, but really it's a lot of fun to dig through these cards that look rough and find some diamonds in there. It never fails really. At a minimum, the hunt is fun!
This is such a cool video. I hope you got your money back. New subscriber here and totally gonna watch it now
The good stuff was already picked out. I would be tempted to pick it up too at the chance of something.
The Drysdale cards are interesting. They are 1993 Nabisco and part of a set of 6 HOFers (Banks, Drysdale, Hunter , Stargell, B. Robinson, Niekro) Autograph cards you could get via mail with $5 and 2 box tops. I got and still have the Banks. These are interesting because they are not signed and seem larger like cut incorrectly form a sheet. Drysdale passed away during this promo and his card brings a premium, not sure if it is because he didn't finish signing them all, or because his death brought some attention to them. Cool.
Nice variety. Nothing mindblowing but some decent stars. Would be fun to go thru thats for sure.😊
would love the Carlton fisk 87 topps.
I love that Sandberg and Maddux!
Nice cards love these type of videos
I'm always intrigued when I find these boxes with toploaders lol
Definitely what brings me enjoyment⚾️
Had lots of that kind of stuff, liked the old Score Gold Rush, looks like run of the mill, good addition for collection, resale no way!
Love the Juan Gone's!
You sound like a baseball announcer. Next video say…. “ just a bit outside.” 😂😂
Nice . I want the Ty Cobb!!
That Ghost Busters pin was awesome!!!
Gotta love the hunt!
I truly enjoy your Radio Voice!
The Turk Wendell picture has a much better story. He was nuts. He used to jump the lines to and from the mound, but it was very exagerted. He would come out, draw on the mound dirt, then lick his fingers. Slammed the rosin bag down before facing hitters, then between EVERY INNING he brushed his teeth in the dugout. That picture is of him brushing his teeth in the dugout between innings. Had to be the most superstitious player of all time.
Turk came to Afghanistan on a USO tour with Marty Cordova and some football players and cheerleaders from Dallas. Turk, Marty and I went to dinner together at the chowhall. They were great guys.
You forgot about the black licorice.
Sounds a little insane
Love these superstitious stories...like Wade Boggs eating fruit loops before each game..
I remember him well. Whenever he would pitch, the cameras would be glued on him. I think describing him as "nuts" was big understatement. I like know where he is living now and what he has been doing. Turk's initials were O.C.D.
this box was well worth the $25! Those mid to late 90s inserts are what I love the most...nice video Jon!
Something is only worth the amount of money someone is willing to pay for it when it comes to collectibles
I watch a lot of your videos. I really enjoy them but i just noticed your voice has a John Tesh sound to it. Sounds good keep up the great work
Love your vids, i would be inter in the proctor & Gamble cards and if you have the unopened packs you spoke of. Lmk a price if you want to sell them. My friend larry is trying to fill a set.
Might find the 1990 Frank Thomas NNOF in there 😂 hope it’s a good deal for $25
Love this stuff
Fun stuff as always...was a pretty crappy box box but oh well. It was worth a risk.
lots of run of the mill stuff, could be nice addition for collector,no resale value
Love the old Mets cards was surprised to see some of the names lol
Sky box was always lots more than Topps or other brands. I think the skybox packs were like 2 or 3 times the price of other brands. They were marketed as primo cards but I rarely bought any of their cards due to the hefty price
I like those old timer great cards
I so much want to visit an antique store or garage sale and find a box or small collection,.. pay about $20 to $30 dollars and finding it to be the pick of a lifetime!!! Fingers crossed for this spring or summer.
Nice Donnie Baseball's!
94 upperdeck are the strongest brick makers. They will stick together and rip each other apart when you seperate them
I would love to have the Sosa sports flix. I'm a big Cubs fan
The Don Mossi card made it worth the money, he was a handsome man
ty cobb patch sold for $15 on ebay.. so there is most of the cost covered.. Good video!
I enjoyed the video.
I went to HS with Ray Lankford... Compton transfer came in and ruled the gridiron. He helped us to a 13-1 record in 84. As good as he was in football he was even better at baseball.
You went to Davis with my Brother and Baker huh
@@olandermc not sure...who are you?
Was wondering if that Topps was the Pujols and Ichiro card😆
No, it was well worth your $25! I watched the entire thing and of course it’s all about the anticipation😎
A lot of nice Indians cards in this box! Maybe if they go up for auction I can add them to my collection.
Following the 1987 season for the Cardinals, Jose Pena was the premier top catcher in baseball going into 1988. For a few years he was the Cardinals' Yadi at the time.
Earned a sub from me. Thanks for the free nostalgia
I see the Bobby Richardson. My number one player I started collecting in 1962. I have 3 of his Rookies. Not in good shape.
Jon, did you notice the Lyle Overbay card? He's holding a baby
Love these random box videos
I am working on an 83 Topps set.
I share the same birthday w you and Favre lol
You going to see ghostbusters after life next weekend
The hockey inserts tend to be worth more than you would expect.
Is Erik Jabbs ur brother dude? Yalls cadence is the same
you got STUNG!!!
The Mike Schmidt cards were the bait. Hook, line and sinker.
You almost wonder if the seller made a strategic rip in the plastic #ThingsThatMakeYouGoHmmm
They were selling the penny sleeve for 99 cents and the Tony Pena for a penny.
6:39 Alex Smith isn't a high dollar card but his NFL comeback this past year is nothing short of remarkable. There's videos all over CZcams about him. It's worth a few minutes checking out even for non football fans. I'll spare details incase you check into it. After seeing what he went through, definitely brings alot of truth to saying nothing is impossible if you put your mind and heart to it.
Lyle Overbay! Or as I called him, Lyle "O-for the day!"
Quick question are u Eric brother from jabs family’s?
I got a store by me that’s selling random thrown together basketball and football packs with lots of prizm cards for $1 a piece
At least you got some good kindling
Yes
Decent kindling
That was rooting for it for you to pull a trout out of that pack bro
The Bonds Awards winner...a nice card for sure! You really can't beat the $25 price tag on this box.
I feel like there was at least $25 worth of cards, and I would have purchased this box. I loved this video and did not think it was too long.
sweet
1983 Topps Gary Gaetti RC
You can build a house with all those bricked up cards lol
I collect Ryne Sandberg cards and I do not have that one,.... I have never seen it before.
opened 2 boxes 90 topps looking for the no name on front didnt find it the search goes on
Back in the 90's when I was big in collecting a friend of mine came over with a binder he had bought at a garage sale for 10 bucks. The older women was selling off stuff that her deceased husband had left behind and this friend of mine only bought the binder because he knew I collected cards. So I opened it up and the first page had 2 Micky Mantle autographs, 2 Ted Williams autographs, 2 Johnny Mize autographs. 1 Willie May's autograph and 1Hank Aaron autograph and1 Jim Palmer autograph. The 2nd page was all Dodgers, Sandy Koufax rookie and a Don Drysdale rookie and a Maurie Wills rookie all 3 were in mint condition. I asked my friend how much he wanted for the binder and he said 20 bucks. I couldn't get the 20 out of my wallet fast enough. I ended up making over 2 grand off of the binder which I used on my Joe Montana collection.
Good Lord, talk about hitting a Grand Slam! Awesome!
Did you attempt to contact the lady he bought it from?
@@CapAnson12345 nope. Why would I?
@@bobwilliamson9562 If you have to be told why your not to bright.
@@dmac7403 - Do you mean “not too bright”, genius?
I like this $25.00 box of sportscards
I'd be interested in buying the Ricky Henderson cards if you want to sell them.
Not bad. For 25 I would have bought it too.
Nice
Pack wrapper in a card saver? I’M DEAD
This is basically that antique store getting rid of their trash from their personal collection
I'm a Sandberg fanatic. That skybox Sandberg was amazing. Great video as always.
I wish you would have turned over some of those inserts that she was finding especially the holographic ones some of those could be numbered you'd be surprised...229/2005... It was usually a number followed by act the actual year of the card..
If Kurt Loder, MTV News, collected cards - that voice!
