    It’s a feeling either you have or you don’t. I have the same passion from my late father. My three older brothers do not it.

    I used for years a length of 1/2” copper pipe 8’ long my late father used. And he had marked 1 foot and 2 foot marks on one end. It worked great. I stood it up in a tree for over night and someone out walking or hunting saw it and took it for themselves. I used a tape measure for a long time then said what and I doing and bought a loggers tape. Sooooo much better.

      Good idea! Ughh some people…I’m def getting a loggers tape soon! I say the same thing to myself every time I’m in the woods without one 😂.

      Hey Thanks for the tips! Although I do push the tractor to its limits most of the time, I usually try to take it easy on her 😂. Hope someday to get an old skidder! Overall for a small tractor I can’t complain, the little Kioti does great 😊

    We always put low quality logs into 4x4s or boards for pallet making. When you saw that popple you should make an extra long pallet to stack the boards on then strap it down to it, or saw and nail it.....

    • @CentralMaineOutdoorsman
      @CentralMaineOutdoorsman Před rokem

      I hear ya, so that they don’t twist and warp…. I had used some on my sheathing. Some boards did cup a bit but ended up great for the sheathing once I nailed them down. I will be strapping them if I sticker them.Thanks for the advise!!

    Enjoyed the video. That log skidder is the ticket. I have the same tractor and have really enjoyed it for almost 2 years now. I’ve done a few videos with it, but I need more practice on my you tube skills. I subscribed and looking forward to more videos.

      Hey welcome to the channel!! Thanks for subscribing I appreciate it! Yes that winch is a invaluable tool! Each attachment has its own use obviously but I would be torn if I had to pick just one. They are great tractors and I’m very happy with mine! The CZcams thing takes time to learn. I still need practice myself, I find it hard talking to myself in the woods 😂. I will subscribe and check out your channel!

    That fungus is called polypores. They are found on poplar and birch trees. They work great for a quick bandaid with built-in anti bacterial properties. Lol the more you know. Lol. That was a great fell. That stump was perfect. I meant to leave you a comment on your last video because the door reminded me. When you get your garage built and ready for garage doors let me know and I can come help you with those instead of paying someone to do it. I worked for Overhead Door Co. For 8 years.

      Ohh cool! I knew there was a proper name lol. Wow good to know that they are useful. I know that white pine has its medicinal qualities too. That would be great! It’s funny that you said that because they just installed my buddy’s doors the other day. I guess they are hurting to find help. Like every other hands on job nowadays!

      @CentralMaineOutdoorsman I'm not really surprised. It's been that way as long as I can remember. Installing garage doors is hard work and you have to use your brain so you don't get hurt. It's pretty difficult to find help that has both qualities. Lol. Not to mention that what's the point of working when you can get free handouts? Lol

I really should be doing videos on Harley’s but that’s my day job lol

    Hello again! I met you at Tractor Supply in Dover-Foxcroft. (Maine North Woods Hunter) and this channel (Handy-Capable). Great videos here. Do you just burn the popler or make boards out of it?

    • @CentralMaineOutdoorsman
      @CentralMaineOutdoorsman Před 6 měsíci

      Hey man! Long time no see. Was nice meeting a fellow CZcamsr in town! We use the poplar for boards and firewood. If the quality of wood is low or smaller we will use it as firewood. But we like to make boards so we can build various things since we have so much on our property. We recently built a shed almost 100% from poplar that you will see in most recent videos.
