Bringing This Fender Strat & Jazz Bass Back to Life

- Recently got in a pair of USA Fender guitars (a Stratocaster and a Jazz Bass) that were super neglected and in need of some love. I thought it would be cool to give you all a little peak behind the curtain to see our process of how we "restore" guitars to get them into a condition worthy of being listed for sale.
Come along as we take a look at some extreme examples of what we typically get in at the shop. Can we get this Strat and Jazz bass back to their former glory? What are some restoration projects you've taken on?

Damien doing the Lord’s work, cleaning up the Blues Driver.
Exactly 🙏
Uhh not a Blues Driver
You guys really seem like a great shop that does good work with honesty and integrity. I wish you were in my hometown. But we have some great people here too.
I really loved your cleaning and resurrecting the strat, a very thorough job. It would be great to see more videos like this :)
This was a fun one!!
Patina adds a bit of character. Every piece tells a story.. I dig that Jazz!
Great work ethic 🤘🏼 When I’m done being a broke ass biatch I’m definitely ordering an axe from you guys. Love the guitar show vids - picked up my main axe (‘73 sunburst strat w/rosewood) for $800 at a guitar show in Buffalo NY back in ‘98. Owned it for half its life now & put almost all the wear on it. Best deal I ever got…
Thanks!
That's awesome to hear. Always cool to have a guitar for awhile that's been through things with you. Even better when it's a good deal too 🙌
When Dallas Rocked
Enjoy
Nice addition of the studio setup to make the vid demos sound good!
I use an ultrasonic bath thingy to clean all the metal parts and even plastics - it works great, it's quicker and they're pretty cheap to buy. Try it - should save you loads of time and honestly the results are excellent.
Thanks! Definitely looking into that
Look at Damien, the eye for details🤘Once again great vid guys, love the content, and the gear you showing😎
Thank you!
I think a string through the body base would just be badass just like a telecaster
Nice!
Did you ever post a video of your new studio/ shop
If you have I can’t seem to find it

By the way, seeing those Space Echos brought back good memories
Ex roadie/ Soundman
from Fort Worth Texas
The 1970’s
A time when the entire rock world at one time or another flowed through Dallas
Glorious days indeed
I live in Northeast Ohio, just above Akron, the city name-checked in the last verse of this song-
"The farms of Ohio
Had been replaced by shopping malls
And Muzak filled the air
From Seneca to Cuyahoga Falls
Ay-Oh-way to go Ohio"
A guy who was a dead ringer for Alex just walked past my house.
Is there a guitar show in my area I don't know about??
I think I've played a show on tour in Akron before with Secret Keeper, but we're currently in FL so wasn't Alex! -Thomas
I learned a lot watching this cheers and yes please show us all your unlisted stock 👌
Thanks for watching and glad you learned some things!
I'm a Hobby guitar player and I dream about having a guitar shop but I don't know if I can handle the people or not I probably throw somebody out of my shop every day
Having an in person store certainly has its challenges! We aren’t open to the public, so we don’t interface with others in person on a daily basis
Mistake useing those blue paper towels ( paper causes scratches)😮, use soft cotton wash clothes. Also a dremel tool cloth polishing wheel at high speed along with your fret cover is the ultimate polish!, only a few passes does it.😊 Also screw the viniger!, soke in WD-40. And 000steal wool or scotsbright pad.
The blue towels are pretty soft and have gotten good results so far. Will say steel wool can work great, but Scotch-Brite pads tend to be too abrasive no matter what the package says. Really want to get an ultrasonic cleaner for future rust and corrosion removal though.
👍
Man, how can anyone let a guitar get that dirty and it looks like it was played a lot....can you imagine playing something so gross and filthy...good job cleaning up although I would have scrubbed both fingerboards to get rid of that built up gunk...a toothbrush works great for that! Then some fretboard conditioning. I would also have put some Montyspresso on the bass fb to darken it but thats me,,,Good job though, you cleaned them up well,,,now I would actually touch them,,lol
Probably some of the dirtiest guitars we've encountered haha. Hopefully they go onto a new home that treats them better
@@aflashfloodofgear Well, they looked great after you cleaned them! Nice bass and strat!
just want to ask u bro.. how much the most expensive guitar that u bought ??? t.q
I actually am not sure
