If you continue to do Indian classical dances I would suggest to do small videos of the Film division of India on classical dances. Kathak and Odissi is there. The videos are ancient and basically made by the govt of India to spread knowledge of Indian culture so chances of copyright strikes are negligible. The videos are high quality in the sense the dancers are the maestros of their generation, the very cream of the crop. Sujata Mohapatra herself is a student of one of the greatest maestros, Kelucharan Mohapatra. Sujata is absolutely marvelous and an exlamplery dancer herself. Great reaction. The hand movements you always talk about are the "hastamudra" which means hand position and it's basic in every Indian dance form and it's very easy even you can learn it😄

oops this reminded me of my school days i used to practice odissi, too tough, my bad luck that i could not continue, finger movements, eyes and facial expression, flexibility exercises, every cell of the body counts to dance the odissi style... thank you for bringing up this video.

That dance form is where I am from in India. It's called Odissi and its from the state of Odisha.. Pure devotion to Lord vishnu, his various forms and other gods and lot of facial expressions. Sujata Mohapatra is the daughter-in-law of the legendary Odissi dancer, Late Sri Kelucharan Mohapatra. You guys made my day by reacting to this, this interest in music and dance is all love ❤❤❤❤

Odissi, is one the most ancient Indian classical dance form, Sujata Mohapatra is one of the most known and respected, dancers, guru and scholar.
This piece is taught in early stages of training, I cannot even begin to tell you the wealth of knowledge that the Indian classical forms posseses, centuries before anything developed in the west, please check out the advance pieces. It's not even the beginning, she is a desciple of padma vibhushan Guru Shri Kelucharan Mohapatra, he is god like, his contribution to Dance I'd unparalleled.
I am an Odissi dancer too.

I am so glad u reacted to my love Odissi....
I trained in Odissi from when I was 3 years of age(2003) ...
I it requires immense practice ....and exercise to be able to perform such an angelic dance form which involves literally every part of human body...
Fun fact :we were taught to move our rib cages without moving our hips or shoulders..
I woke up at 5.00am and practiced daily no matter what...
    Really luv u 😘😘😘 OSR
