My brother and I are from Canada, Sweet introduced us to a whole new world of music. We lived a very small town, 3000 people. My brother won Sweet, Desolation Blvd. from the local radio station. We we 12 and 13 respectively. WOW they should have lasted longer. This was mid 70s or early 70s, no matter. Amazing what music can do.
They had many great hits and were clearly a talented band as performers, but they were never the same when they left Chinn and Chapman and started doing their own material.
@@paullondon6625 It was also because Brian Connolly (singer) started drinking. I was on a Sweet concert in Hamburg in the end of the 90s and Andie Scott was still WOW!!!!
I grew up in rural southwestern Manitoba and my mom listened to KY58 from Winnipeg and they weren’t classic rock yet because they played what was new in 1979 when I was 10 lol 29 km east of Russell. I returned in 2013.. I definitely remember the earlier glam rock songs
@@yvindkristoffersen6735 No! I'm not kidding! Sweet deserves to be in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of fame! Sweet inspired alot of rock musicians and bands! Suzi Quatro too! I love Slade and Mott the Hoople too! All of them deserves to be in the rock and roll Hall of Fame! I love Sweet better than Roxy Music and all the above!🎤🎸🎵🥁
@@diannecarpenter7718 While I really like Sweet from a musical standpoint, I'm not quite sure if they make the requirements as a band. Sweet was a very commercialized Bubblegum-Band, with songs from third-party songwriters and a very market-orientated management that dictated everything from their looks to the "teenage attitude" in order to artificially make them as (financially) appealing to teens as possible. Basically Sweet was "designed" as a money-machine, not a "legit" musical group. I think that Brian, Andy, Steve and Mick themselves really were in for the music, but the way the band itself was managed and marketed was a bit too superficial and bubblegum-esque for the HOF.
Sweet plays rock and roll, glam, rock and they are one of my favorite bands of all time! Rock and roll is rock no matter what you want to call it! Sweet belongs in the rock and roll Hall of Fame. They are better than Roxy Music! Long live Sweet forever!🎤🎸🎵🥁
@@wbtx2075 I don't agree with you. Sweet have all the requirements. Rock and roll is rock no matter what you want to call it! All ages love Sweet and the Beatles etc.... I love Sweet better and they deserve to be in the rock and roll Hall of Fame! Sweet is better than Roxy Music. Sweet played rock and Roll. Take a listen to the remake of Peppermint Twist etc... So on! All ages love Sweet! Long live Sweet forever!🎤🎸🎵🥁
I remember this hit by Sweeet from autumn in 1972. I had just started my studies at a new school and everything was new. I liked it then and still do today.
This is a great song from a great Band. Sweet is not only glam. Sweet is a Rockband. They sung self writen songs like Fox on the run or Yesterdays rain.
You must’ve been at the wrong campsite then 😂. It sounded great at Pontins (Wall Park) Brixham. They did a really great cover of it. Had a cassette tape with it on, that the Bluecoats made. Had it for years. Got it back in 1987 when I was 6
Still fantastic turned up loud all these years later..
Mick Tucker giving those drums a good ol' wallop!! 🥁💥🔥
Somehow the music still gets into my feet. It just makes me happy.. great music and a fantastisk voice

This was the FIRST Record I ever bought. I was 10 or so.
Compared to many stuff my friends had as their first record I am not embarrassed today.
Brian Connolly, such a great voice, Sadly under-rated and gone way to soon. . x x

"-Strike-".
Ur out
Scheisse!!! Ich werde alt, wenn ich noch auf solche Erinnerungen stehe!! Aber um Klassen besser als der heutige Schrott!
Holiday camp hell looool. Sorry, it's a good song just embarrassing memories

Wonder what happened to their wardrobe
Was wollte ich noch machen ? Ach ja,-Ich wollte noch ein Zelt aufbauen und ein auf Indianer machen
i'd love this song if it had better lyrics than "wig wam bam, wam bam bam" 👀 ~ everything else about the song is great 🙋
It's about wam bam in a wig wam. What did you expect ;)
I agree with the other guys. A guy loses his virginity to an Indian maiden in a Wig Wam. ......... just try a little Wig Wham Bam.
Maybe you'd enjoy the lyrics more if you just try a little wig wam bam
Oh...Come on.. Sweet was SO much better than this . Sweet Fanny Adams...and so on.
I wonder if anyone considers this song racist nowadays.
Peter Hine what u expert it’s about getting laid yahoo
that is so gay
Holiday camp hell looool. Sorry, it's a good song just embarrassing memories
Yeah many embarrassing memories. However, at the same time, also good memories! ;)
