This just demonstrates that literally anyone, a literal casual, can effectively speedrun if they try and put in the effort. This also shows that you really don't have to be all that good to speedrun and it's not as intimidating as some may think, just do it and have fun with it.

mash speed hardly matters. it is all about having a consistent rhythm with your mash, along with timing
also it's NSO and I think I've heard that's more difficult

I like how this was uploaded the day after I 100%'d SM64 again.
Also, I feel like Nathan's a pretty good teacher with these glitches since I couldn't figure out how some of them worked when I originally tried them, but his explanations just ended up making a lot more sense to me.

Omg, this just reminded me of when I accidentally figured out the “Shoot into the great blue” skip by myself because I was curious if I could get to the star early. Then I found out it was a speedrun strat and I was like “MA, IM A SPEEDRUNNER NOW 🥹” Then I tried the “Blast away the wall” skip and felt like I was losing my mind 💀
Anybody can become a good speedrunner with willingness to learn and not being afraid to fail. and this shows it! great vid
I've seen the Blast the wall and chain chomp clips but always thought they were beyond me. This makes them seem a lot more doable and might be the push I need to learn a basic 16-star run.

Is it weird how I've stopped being used to playing SM64 without a shotgun? Yeah, I found a hack where the modder gave Mario a shotgun and it is as wild and awesome as it sounds.
