  • This was a incredible trip on the southbound Amtrak Silver Star from Cary, NC to West Palm Beach, FL I experienced the whole journey down to Florida passing through Columbia, SC, Savannah, GA, Jacksonville, FL, Orlando, FL, and Tampa, FL. For this journey I stayed in a brand new viewliner bedroom, along with eating meals in the viewliner dining car. In this video I will give you a full tour of the whole train, along with showing you Amtrak’s diner service, and more. Make sure to stay tuned and come along with me on this amazing Amtrak journey. Enjoy the video!

Silver Star is a great route! I took the Silver Meteor (similar route) from my home city of Philadelphia down to Savannah, GA for a trip and I stayed in a roomettte. Was a comfortable ride and was right on time. I love having access to such great train routes and I love Amtrak

I took a trip from Chicago to DC on the Cardinal, then back on the Capitol Limited last month. The cafe service has been drastically improved and Amtrak’s preference rights are being more strictly enforced.

Interesting tidbit. The Hamlet, NC station was actually on the other side of the tracks. They literally picked up the whole station and moved it to the other side of the diamond. Lakeland, FL is the only station where the trains in either direction stop twice.

at the 37:02 mark behind the fedex truck is my favorite little coffee shop, Krazy Kup. Also right before that is the Plant City Train viewing platform. Great train watching spot. 2 main rail lines converge right there. Majority of Florida's freight crosses runs through those 2 lines as well as Amtrak.

This room looks way better than in other trains. We took Silver Meteor, NC-WPB round trip, not so long ago, and the money we paid was not worth it. The bedroom was outdated and the menu was typed on a single piece of paper, with 3 choices for breakfast and 4 for lunch/dinner.
