It's funny, these newer small trucks ( not sub - " Lifestyle " one's like the Maverick, Sante Cruz etc ) are basically the size of an F-150 from the late 2000's lol
these trucks are normal sized everywhere else in the world except for the US... idk why yall LOVEE them big oness... we use them here in Asia for the same reasons too lol

I get the road size and comfortability but I mean like does it really have to be THAT big? we use a ranger 2022 model and we are comfortably able to haul so much things from our farm every week (plants, coconuts, farm produce, and vegetables) I just feel like Australia for example has these midsized pickups dominating all over and they have big roads and long distances to travel too, and they haul the same shit yall americans do sooo 🤷♂️

I got a chance to see this truck in person at the Canadian International Autoshow last month, and I really liked how it looks in person. Interior felt quite nice as well as I sat inside it. Probably one of my favourite trucks on the market right now, alongside the Tacoma and Tundra.

Truck guys: this truck is too small for my drive to Starbucks.
The 3 prong plug in can power a Keurig though.
Ford conditioned Americans that big trucks are the norm and they killed off the Ranger. Now that it’s back, they price them just as much as a discounted F-150. Similar to EVs and Hybrids, they need these trucks to offset their other vehicles to avoid CAFE fines. People want small trucks, wagons, minivans, we were duped that we needed huge vehicles because the profit margins are larger.
These utes have existed in australia for a few years now, loved them since release, but cant say they havent had a lot of issues since release. Paul Maric from car expery bought a ranger raptor and had the rear diff replaced very early in its life. Seen reports of them needing engine replacements. But i love these things regardless.

With most of them getting fresh designs, what do you think the best midsize truck is for a rear facing car seat? I'm leaning Ridgeline but the extra capability of the Ranger/GM twins is enticing.

Can it fit a rear facing car seat with the front seat all the way back? That is all I need. My 2019 Ranger could not but my 2017 F-150 Raptor could but had almost too much space.

This Ranger is not all new. It is still based on a decade old T6 Ranger, they just lengthened the wheelbase by 50mm to accomodate future hybrid powerplants.
Are refreshed models even all new ?

Maybe they replaced the old 2.3L EB that had 270 HP and 310 torque with an all-new 2.3L EB that puts out 270 HP and 310 torque. 😆 As an owner of the previous generation, I'm not buying that this one is all new.

It’s honestly a Red/Orange blend, I work at a Ford Dealership plus I ordered a Bronco in that very color. I’d say it’s mainly red with a orange shine to it

Is this the same paint as the Bronco's "Hot Pepper Red"? Always looked orange in certain light to me.
The 2.7 would be a good middle ground between base and the 3.0 raptor. Its a pretty stout and reliable motor. Id be interested to see your thoughts on it now since you basically wrote it off in your fusion sport review a few years ago.
This with the 2.7 would be a great truck
The previous generation has 4 wheel disc, not drum in the back. I like the new Ranger, but other than the bouncy ride on rough roads, I am happy with my Rapid Red 2020 XLT. The Hot Pepper Red shown here does look orangeish is certain light, which is why I got the Rapid Red- no question that it is red.
A blsck trim with red would look so cool though

Surprised you found the steering perfect, I would have imagined it's the same feeling you described with the Mustang, where it feels weight too light.

regarding the insurance sharing feature. i believe that is only for US vehicles. in Canada we are protected by PIPEDA i believe it is.

We don't get the gas version, only on the Raptor. 2 liter Diesel for the lower trims.
I really appreciate the honesty about the transmission tuning. That is such a bummer and kills the experience of any car. I bought a 2016 Colorado new and it was so terrible to drive because of the transmission tuning that I traded it after two months.

i miss when it was the compact pickup up until 2012. it was so iconic for that and the models from 2006-2012 were so sweet. should have just made a new model if it was gonna be mid-size

i like it. drove one yesterday. the base engine is not great but its not awful. i wanna see how much they want for the 2.7 TT. overall i like the inside better than the taco.

that does look like a blood orange or burnt orange color. it's on the edge, but I'd say it looks pretty red sometimes.

The Ranger is about the same size as the "classic" F150. Doesn't anyone just make a small, utilitarian pickup?

Last good ones were the first gen Colorado with the 3.7l Atlas I5 motor. You could option them SCSB or SCLB, they rode nice and low for easy rear load height, and were quite reliable.
I'd buy a good condition older truck over pretty much any of these new "small" trucks. They compromise way too much and gain little from it.
Looks like a maverick that juiced up a bit...lol other than the grill its not bad
This was a LONG overdue redesign, but it still seems and feels like a half-measure. It is 2024 and the top trim doesn't have: sunroof, ventilated seats, HUD, keypad entry, 60/40 folding seats, or rear vents. Most of these things don't need to be standard, but for them to not even be available options is just a swing and a miss.
The quicker Ford can fix those errors AND offer a PHEV option, the quicker they can dominate the mid-size truck market. I will happily "upgrade" from my Maverick Lariat FX4 to a Ranger Lariat FX4 PHEV as soon as they become available.

One big miss is the lack or HVAC vents for the rear passengers, though Tacoma is in this boat too. Still my favourite in the segment and the want is high!

Interesting you guys get the Ecoboost Engines meanwhile here in the Philippines we get a range of Diesel Engines.
Just like us in South Africa we get the single 2.0Dturbo,2.0D twin turbo and the 3.0 V6 diesel with the Raptor petrol V6 too.
@@sandile4492 ohh interesting again we don't get the upgraded engines in the Raptors yet. So far we get 1 engine option which is the 2.0L Bi-Turbo.
