If Kai used Tai Lung's chi, Kai would lose ALOT of power. Tai Lung is powerful, without a doubt. Both brains and brawn. He is strategic. And his chi is also powerful. Being able to hold himself together, paralysed, held down by two big boulders on each side, still got out of the prison STRONGER. When Kai steals chi, not only did he make them as his slaves, but he stole their POWER. I think Kai took the thundering rhino's chi too. And we dont see him as a jade warrior. I think thats cuz hes one of the most powerful master too. Maybe at Tai Lungs lvl, or higher, or a bit lower but higher than everyone else. In Oogway's case, his chi was too powerful, so powerful that Kai used it to get out of the spirit realm. If Kai loses Oogways chi, then Kai would be teleported back to the spirit realm.

Yeah and that's good because the franchise uses different color backgrounds for their villains, Tai lung- Blue, Shen- Red, and Kai-Green, so the Chameleon being purple would be awesome as it's a different color theme for the new villain.

I think purple is more fitting in the narrative of the movie because po is going to pass through a very big transformation process, he is no longer going to be the dragon warrior, and in order to find his sucessor and accept his new life as the master of the valley of piece, he will need to face his past first, with the chamaleon representing this past, and having the color purple because it's an arc of transformation for po, which is what the color represents, and of course, chamaleon kind of transform to some extent with their ability to change colors, so it would fit perfectly.

I’d say this is probably a really nice start to a new generation of the franchise. We’ve seen a main character be chosen to save a village and continue to grow with the two additional movies. A 4th one where the main character has to allow the life cycle to continue and let the new Dragon Warrior stand up is something really interesting and don’t get to see a lot especially in movies
Imagine if this chameleon villain can also: 1. Summon an evil of Po, the furious five, and Shifu. 2. The chameleon is one of the candidates to be the next dragon warrior but like Tai Lung he has rejected out of the darkness in his soul. 3. Like Kai has some sort of magical abilities linked to chi. 4. He saw multiple futures or versions of Po, with the majority of it Po being lured into the dark side.
I’m a 24 year old adult now, but I’ll definitely be watching Kung Fu Panda 4 because when I was in elementary school, Kung Fu Panda was one of my favorite animated movies ever. And it still is.
