haha thank you so much
I bought the M2 Air when it came out and have really enjoyed it so far. My use case so far was entertainment, taking notes, creating some light iMovies and some light coding. It is also my first Mac and I was debating between the M1 Pro and the M2 Air at the time. I decided to go with the air because of the design and weight. (The design is what sold me on the M2 instead of the M1 Air)
I second this, and the base model works great for these uses. I also have an m1 pro mbp for the more intensive tasks that need more power, but I rarely end up using it.
I third this.
I fourth
Thanks a lot boys or girls for sharing!!
I just bought and I love it. Really has a premium feeling
Dude i love your cinematic skits in the beginning of your video! Well done :)
I was able to get an M2 silver base model (the color I actually wanted) for $848 last week as an open box 5 days after its original purchase from Best Buy. I wanted something small and portable that I could take to class and work. As a graduate student in Public Health and Information Systems this machine has held up to what I do but in the coming days I’ll be able to test it further as classes for my IS degree pick up again. Excited to see how it performs compared to my main machine.
Niiiiiice! Keep us posted. Thats a pretty sweet deal honestly. Good luck with classes!
Damn, its about 500$ more expensive in europe
I used the 14” M1 Pro for 6 months. I’m not a very heavy user. I sometimes make video animations in Blender using Cycles & light coding in Xcode. I switched to the M2 Air 2 months ago and I’ve loved it so much! It’s portability over performance for me. Think about what your prioritise. The 14” was too heavy and chunky for me. The sharp edges dug into my wrists a lot. It was very problematic for me when typing for long.
Nice!! Hows video animations in blender using the M2 Air btw?
MacBook Pro is a nice laptop it good for people who is a heavy user and MacBook Air is for people who don’t use their laptop all the time
Would you mind sharing where you sold 14" M1 Pro? I'm in a similar boat and want to make the switch to the M2 air
@@attentional_blinks yo! I sold it to a friend’s dad who has his own business of laptops and computers. M2 Air is brilliant for me. Just remember to buy 16gb ram and not 8Gb.
! Hi ), Am planing to get my first MacBook
I ll use the MacBook Air for
1. Multiple tabs in browser - article reading and CZcams videos.
2. Content viewing.
3. Ppt
3. Since am planing to get iPhone 15 pro, may be learn to do minor photo & video editing ( tour videos).
4. Teleradiology ( viewing and very minor graphic processing 2D to volume rendering) _ bigger screen is better here.
5. Use my iPad as sidecar in reporting.
6. May connect a monitor in future.
With these uses, Since MacBook Air is well built am planing to use for atleast few years 5plus
Should I get 8 or 16 gb ram keeping in mind on the works and future proofing for macOS updates.
Quality of Content is increasing in every video
I personally like how you explain every small detail about macs and other things 🔥
Keep going andres 👍🏻
Thank you so much brother! Happy to deliver!
Literally the design alone made me go for the M2. MagSafe and 2 ports is a great combo
I bought the M2 Air for my fiancé for Christmas she loves it so far. She is a Bachelor/Master student in Neuropsychology and I feel the M2 MBA can handle her 100 tabs and more. Should last her for a couple of years. I am definitely keeping an eye out for one of those discounted M1 MBP
haha thats definitely a super nice gift. you killed it! Thanks for sharing!
That's a nice gift! I am going to a similar field. Did you buy her the base model?
Have been using the M2 air (16, 512) for a week now & have been pretty stoked so far. Absolutely beautiful machine. I appreciate the argument that the M1 Pro or M1 Air offer more value for money. But for me, the M2 Air's design and form factor was the most important part. The M1 Pro may offer better performance, but I'm not a pro user and prefer a portable machine. The M1 Air may be a better deal, but I much prefer the design of the M2 Air. Overall I chose the form factor over "value for money" and was happy to pay a little bit more to get the machine that I'll enjoy using in the long run. Regardless, hard to make a poor decision with Apple's current lineup. Go with your gut!
Love it love it !! Thanks a lot I feel like these comments help people with their purchases honestly.
Even for the Pro user (I’m designer) it works amazing
Appreciate this feedback. I am so torn because I think I could use pro power, but just can't beat the design and lightness of the air.
The m2 air actually gives you better single core preformance at least in the development workflow for a lot of applications
@@gamervmidyou design with the air ?
Wow, this is seriously the best and most honest review I’ve ever seen on CZcams… big love!
Super happy with the way it turned out tbh! Thanks a lot!
#M2 I was really on the fence between the M1 and M2 Air a few weeks ago when I decided that get my first MacBook in like a decade. What pushed me over the edge to the M2 was the hardware design with the improved screen, keyboard and magsafe. I was able to get one refurbished from apple and have been super happy with it. Coming from cheap dell cooperate machines the M2 feels like an absolute tank.
You were on the phone with Timmy and Tommy lol
Super fair yeah... I feel you on that! You wont regret it honestly. Enjoy it!
I'm leaning to the Pro/Max series but it's amazing just how the M1/M2 Air opens up developers and creatives in general to power for under $1000, which would have cost several times as much a few years ago. Sure, it's not going to replace a 128 core RTX rig, but you can churn a lot of great stuff relatively seamlessly compared to an x86 in a similar price range.
Never regret and very happy with my macbook m2 :) Still super smooth and fast..
I bought M2 Air because of it's design. I love notch, flat edges, and midnight blue. Heavy workloads is not a thing to confuse, because I got my Core i9 PC that runs both Hackintosh and Windows.
I got the M2 MBA 16/512 refurbished for 1200$ and I’m extremely happy with it, had a 14 MBP before but portability is a must for me.
The MBA is so slick, light and powerful for what I do. I do not edit photos or videos, I’m not a software engineer and I do not compose music. I just need a snappy, light and powerful laptop for my office work, Finance apps and light coding. Very pleased with it
Do you think it's powerful enough for lightroom and photoshop
@@heefq8121 it definitely is. But for LR I've seen that it can easily max out the 8GB of ram and once it's done that it can actually slow the whole process down as it can't feed the processor fast enough. On the flip side, if you can get the CPU fed fast enough, large exports will see the cpu throttle once it gets too hot (usually after 5-10 minutes).
I reckon for occasional LR use and exporting maybe a few tens to couple hundred images in one go, it's going to be fine.
Just recommended your channel as i”m looking for a new M book. Husky like I have in the garage in your production area. SWEET! Instant cred and now it gives me proper permission to add one to my man cave remodel so I can organize all the crap that sits out and should be in an easily accessible tool box. Thanks for being cool!
given that where i am, the 14 inch M1 Pro Macbook Pro was already the same price as I paid for my M2 Macbook Air… i should’ve got that, but only because the Air struggles in applications like After Effects, which ive just learnt i need to do on my desktop
for a portable, regular use machine? the M2 Air is still a beast and I love it.
Love the video quality and a lot details you have touched in this. Youe studio looks amazing. I really like that a lot. I've been following you since from almost the start and really happy to see that youe CZcams channel is growing 👍
Crazyyyy! thanks a lot Alex! Much love !
That Hamilton, Messi, Ali canvas display is awesome! Great taste!
Used the MBP 14 inch M1 pro for a month and returned it for a macbook air m2 with 8 gbs of ram and 512 ssd. I have to say, the M2 is lightning fast, and I still haven't come across any real life scenerios where the MBP beats the MBA. I love my MBA and I don't regret switching the 14 inch MBP for the MBA.
I had an Air, but upgraded to the m1 pro 14 after I realized 16gb of ram and 512 on an m2 air was $100 less than the pro.
This is very helpful, thanks, and I like your office/studio
Brilliant video. Well done.
Love your vids brotha.
Your videos never fail to impress me, Andreas. Such a great vibe!🔥🤙🏻
Killer review Andres! Keep up the awesome reviews. Still on my M1 Air -- this thing is a beast. Although if I were to upgrade I'd probably be going for a refurb M1 Pro 14.
Just bought the m2 air as my first ever Mac, I’ve always relied on my custom built windows/intel gaming pc for everything. I upgraded the 13 inch to 512 SSD (if I need more I’ll buy external) and 16g of ram, I really think that’s the sweet spot with this awesome machine! It’s cool learning about how OP the pros are I’m excited to join the apple computer community at last!
2:05 Trial by Fire - a spine chilling show. Love your videos and awesome stuff as always ❤
6 months in and it still looks fresh!
I'm currently using my m2 air right now. Don't regret it, it's my school laptop and I honestly love this thing. The midnight color is so great...but cleaning is a nightmare because I've never noticed how dirty my laptops get before I got this midnight finish, but I still love the laptop.
haha I gave up cleaning it... it drives me nuts but also for the videos I rather just show people the true dirtiness of it!
@@andresvidoza fair fair! Amazing video as always!
@MGD II what model of the m2 air did you get. I’d love one for school too but I’m not sure what model. Thanks
@@Olls1193 base M2 mac in the midnight. Great for school work, coding, etc, honestly only person preference problem is i like bigger screens, but it’s a very good laptop
@@mgdii5435 if I could upgrade the ram or the SSD what one would you recomend for school use and because id like this mac for 4-5 years
#M2 - i have always been a windows user and decided to switch over to apple. I am a full stack developer and one day, i tried my friends macbook air m1 to see what the hype was about. Immediately fell in love with the sleekness and how it functions. Got the M2 right after work that day because of how sick it looked!
Much love thanks for watching! haha yes for full stack dev its absolutely amazing... as long as you dont start getting into mobile dev youre good.
I was a proud owner of the m2 MacBook Air midnight color with the 512g.. but then i started getting the safari warnings of not being able to open up webpages due to not enough memory which i had plenty of storage but ram i was hitting 7gig of ram. And i didn’t know what was going on. Im a student, although i do do a lot of multitasking with CZcams in the background and multiple tabs open but they never exceeded 10. I did have other apps like Microsoft word, craft (my note taking app) and voice memos from my saved lectures running at the same time.. Best Buy guy told me this laptop wasn’t enough so got me to upgrade to the MacBook Pro M1 Pro. Which im liking the screen and speaker quality on it. But i do miss the MacBook Air portability. After seeing other people reviewing the MacBook Air i don’t think I’ve put that machine through what you guys put it through
I've had a MBP in the past but I never really used it at its full capacity for the price I paid for it. So I decided on buying the M2 MacBook Air recently and I honestly do not regret it (so far) because it fits the basic needs that I will be using it for on a daily basis. It's lighter and sure, it is smaller than I am used it but I don't hate it.
The only thing I wish I considered more was buying one with 512GB of SSD memory but that would've be +$200 and I happened to have gotten a great deal with my brand new M2 MacBook that I just could not pass the basic model and pay $250 less than current price of $1199.
I dont think youll ever regret it at this point.. its an amazing machine. I feel you on the ssd part btw
Your videos are always amazing to watch. Thank you for dropping this content. ❤🔥

i had the m1 air for 2.5 years and honestly that laptop was a beast. though my work has changed which require more ram i had to upgrade to the pro 32gb ram recently.
Man…I’ve grown to really like your channel. Keep up the good work. And yes, for me the reason I picked the m2 over the m1 was for $200 more, I got a slightly bigger and brighter screen. That’s it. Viewing comfort is important to me and that extra brightness really helps me out when I’m feeling a bit sluggish. Hopefully that makes sense to y’all. Thanks again for your awesome content. Cheers from la
Thank you so much Rafa! I appreciate it a lot. Im going to be doing a "How To Setup Your MacBook" video. I'll give a few tips and tricks and how I like doing things myself! Enjoy your macbook man!
excellent video bro!
#M2 the feature you discovered is Universal Control. You can use one mac to control another mac and iPads cursor to drag drop files, texts, type, etc neat productivity apple ecosystem feature. Great video btw!
#M2 At 12:25 when you're controlling the M2 Air with the M1 that is called Universal Control! What's really terrifying about it is you can move files directly from one device to the other one just by dragging it. As magical as that sounds it is even more magical when you actually do it and you can also do it with you iPad as well as long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID!! It's wild magical tech lol
You can also control your iPad as well as other Macs with the same keyboard/mouse. You just have to be signed in to the same iCloud account.
it has been 5 months since i got my silver mba m2, and i love every second using it!
nice dude super happy to hear!!
The last time I bought a Mac was a 15” MacBook Pro in 2016, and it blew my mind that for the price I bought my older comp I can max out an M2 MacBook Air and get over 4 times the ram and the space and it won’t be as heavy. Yes my old comp has all the old ports but I’ll take a dongle if it means I can get 2TB of space and more ram than I’ll need in it’s lifetime. I started doing video editing on my old Mac and decided to upgrade since the fans would kick in every time I tried editing and it would lag really bad. I’m hoping with the M2 I can increase the speed and quality of my new videos. But I’m excited! Especially since my old computer won’t update past Big Sur so now I’ll get to learn all the new software updates.
I got mine for only $600 dollars which was the base spec, but it was brand new and I can't complain.
the midnight M2 MacBook Air is really a joy to have! i love how light and portable it is. i'm also in college and a content creator and for where i'm at it literally gets the job DONE. i am currnetly going to get the Mac mini so i can have a desktop computer so i'm ready to test that out too

Hey Andres !! Really Love Your Content. Explanations are Super Clear ❤ By The Way What is The Name Of The Theme You Are Using In VS Code ?
I chose the M2 air over other options because of the color. I have no regrets.
Yeah youll never really regret it haha its an amazing laptop!
Univeral control is the best, I use (sorry a little overkill) a m2 macbook air 16/512 to control my studio ultra with 3 screens attached. You can also drag and drop stuff its not perfect yet but getting there. You can also have the ipad join the party and control the 2 other machines from any keybaord/trackpad. Universal control should get more love from apple so things work even better including camera and touchid sharing but its getting closer to useful. I use a M2 (again i know overkill) as a trackpad and keyboard for the ultra since i prefer the keyboard/trackpad integrated.
Nice vid mate
Was that your actual ringtone? Can I get that, it was awesome
I`m a solution architect and owner of Air m1 8\256. Amazing computer. Bought it already used from my friend with a great discount.
@Andres Vidoza I am a CS major student and will like to ask for your opinion regarding the M2 Air vs M2 14" Pro model. I am torn between of getting a 16GB + 512GB M2 Air or a base model M2 14" Pro. Over here, the price difference (after spec-ing up the Air) is $400. I do coding and I have ran my Zephyrus G15 to 10GB+ of RAM before. Which will you recommend?
I really love my MacBook Air M1 and i don't really thinking to upgrade it.

been using my M2 MacBook for 3-4 months now, I love it. I only use it for school so I won't do more on it then chrome and many many word documents. But I love this machine so much! #M2
thanks! please do a video on the dev software installed and that you suggest for Mac
I come from pc and the base model m2 is perfect
Thanks for the video, really found it helpful. I’m really leaning to the MBA M2 as I’m a front-end developer and also do some Electron and Figma. I do very very occasional photo editing in Affinity or Laminar Neo and movies in Final Cut. So think the M2 will be enough for me. I think though I might go with the 512GB SSD with 8GB RAM though as the base would just be too small for me
Hi, have you bought the MBA M2? If so, how was your experience as a front-end developer?
Nailed that intro! 🔥🔥👊
The US pricing is just so different. For whatever reason, it's relatively easy to pay around 1500USD for the 16/512 option of the M2 air. While it's rare to see the 14 pro base model below 1999USD. It's new laptop time for me, and the battery/performance ratio has me interested in MacBooks.
I've recently gotten into some light video production with a friend. And even the M2 air seems like it's much more powerful than my 5 year old enterprise grade windows machine, which does the workflow just fine.
These videos confuse me as some, like, you say the M2 air simply cannot do any kind of video or photo editing. It will crash and fail, you *need* the pro. If that's the case, what is apple doing? I can do these tasks on a half decade old Thinkpad without discrete graphics...
I use an M2 Air, 15 inch, for about some two weeks now. Compared to my old 2017 Air, which I bought with maxed-out specs including CPU upgrade, I like the fanless design and the bigger screen. Though the 15" Air is no longer a true Air in the sense of its portability. It is a thin and lightweight 15" laptop, sure, but just a liiittle too big and too heavy.
Bought the 16G/1T version because I want to use it as my main work computer, keeping the old Windows desktop for games. The Macbook performance is overall quite good but with too many applications open, it can become sluggish at times. When I remember to close Lightroom when I don't need it, it is much better. The M2 performance, especially the GPU with 10 instead of 7 or 8 cores compared to M1, is much welcomed. For home use, even editing a large batch of Raw photos while having two different Bloon TD games running in the background in order to do the daily quests, while listening to a podcast, all that without fan noise, is quite good. But quite expensive, too. I plan to add a screen later, for now my bank account has to recover from the expense :D
Ive done some music production in my M2 air and no issues so far.
I think Apple fans expected too much from a second generation; efficiency and power were always going to be amazing going from x86 to ARM. But from M1 to M2; it’s almost as if they were expecting at least 50%+ gains in every single category. And, in my opinion, this is the fault of our consumer age. Consume consume consume, without patience or thought. It’s kind of sad that technological advancements are stifled by people who have zero patience.
How are advancements stifled by over-expectation of consumers? This makes no sense. They're not directly connected factors, and even if they were, surely higher expectations would lead to better innovation.
Have been using my Macbook Air M2 since it came out... I have a 16,512 config and I would say its been crazy good experience coming from a Windows pc user... Love the intro btw... Keep doing this man

I have the 2020 Intel core I5 MacBook Air and it is so fine. It’s pretty good for me 🎉
I got 16 / 512 M2 Air. As a fullstack developer, and a multitasker, the machine is insane. Coming from windows, I had so much pain in the ass while setting an old version of LAMP for my company, but everything else is great. I used pro models too, and they are thick, dense and heavy AF, and for what, more gpu cores? No thanks. I feel like air and pro should have some CPU gap too but they don't really, and perform same on low power mode, which you should be on while on battery anyways. 15 inch Air will be a solid choice when it comes out. But 13.6 is very compact and capable.
Did you find that it ever lags when running heavy projects?

Hi I love the style of your videos, was just wondering what camera setup do you use to record them thanks!
I don't use the magsafe. did not care much about the "better" screen. What I do notice is the really crappy speakers compared to my super old macbook pro, that really does piss me off. One thing is really good is how light it is, after lifting up any other pro macbooks.

Nice!! Thanks a lot for sharing! Enjoy it!
Is it filled with just a few safari eyelashes? So if you have two other applications open, it already starts to collapse and low performance?
@@WillAlonzoF1 the ram may fill up if I have heavy tabs opened but the performance is not hindered because of swap memory
@@mmanuel.of03u What do you think of the 8 gigas ram and 256 ssd version?
@@WillAlonzoF1 if you had the funds I will go for the 16gb ram version and stick with the 256 SSD. But if you’re gonna use the MacBook just for internet and little school work you’ll be just fine with the 8gb and 256ssd

That control trick you found is “universal control” from macOS Ventura!
Is it too late to get the m2 macbook air? Should i just wait for the m3?
Do what I did and get the M2 Macbook Air with 512gb and 16gb RAM from Costco. It cost about $70 more than Apple want for the base model.
What app are you using to see memory usage in menu bar?
Just got my 2022 M2 Air with 16gb and 512 storage and its an amazing piece of hardware :)
I’m a computer science student currently using a 2015 MacBook Air. Looking to upgrade but I’m not sure which MacBook and specs to get. Future proofing is my main concern.
I'm using Mac Air M1 based model now.
is it worth it if I upgrade to M2 based model? (I love M2 design)
Is it really a downgrade in performances? or I won't noticed the performance differences?
(With my daily workload, currently my memory pressure is yellow most of the time, but I don't feel any stuttering)
Got m2 air and i would not change it for pro, prefer the size and compatibility, great review
How much is the ram and Ssd memory of your MacBook?

Yes, it’s call universal control, I used with my iPad and MacBook Pro, it’s very useful
bruh I knew it worked with ipad but another macbook?! thats wild hahaha
How do u run CZcams in that phone format?
I've been looking at getting this macbook for a while now because i don't have a laptop yet and it would really benefit me but i don't really know if its the best one to get.. Should i get the 15" M2, the M1 or should i wait for the M3?
3:47 how do you visualise clock speed and power draw?
I got the M1 air brand new for 750 euros and have absolutely no regrets. Great video with cinematics improving every day!!
how did you manage to get one at this price?
Where did you buy your MacBook for that price? Seems like a steal!
@@Zalive4444 a local store here in Greece was running some winter sales.
@@str1kez367 winter sales at a local store at my country. I guess they wanted to get rid of the stock cause I am pretty sure there was only one left cause when I ordered it it immediately went out of stock
@@minasmamos9651 OK thank :)
Hi Andres. How about this MacBook for a product designer? For apps like figma, sketch, illustrator, photoshop, notion etc. I appreciate your comment ✌🏼
I have the M2 Macbook Air Maxed out with everything. It is great for everyday tasks and browsing etc but for intense tasks it does struggle. I am going to upgrade to the new MacBook Pro M2 MAX!
Thanks a lot for sharing mayn!!
What kind of intense task you mean ?
I’m coming from the old MacBook Air, I then upgraded to M1 MBA, I traded that in at the Apple Store in the UK and put some cash ti it and hit the M1.
The M2 is a better machine on paper but honestly iv not been able to tell the difference from the M1 to the M1 I would recommend save the money and get the M1
Great video! Planning to switch to a Macbook Air M2 and make it my main machine. I currently use Windows and an external monitor. I'm a virtual bookkeeper and accountant. And I edit videos for my channel in a weekly basis. Is the base 13" model enough for my workload?
Now is the best cinematic ever 😂
Right now I have a 2017 base model macbook pro and I am looking to upgrade my mac somewhere in the future. I am an IT management student and we have courses, such as python, database, web system development. Up to this point my mac was holding up pretty well (except the battery life) and I don't know if it is the time to upgrade yet. Even though I am not a very heavy user, anything might change in the future and after comparing prices of air m2 and m1 pro 14 in EU, after speccing to 16gb they are the same price. So here is the question. At the moment I am not in a very big need of a new mac but have the option to do so. Is it better to go for the Air M2, M1 Pro 14 or M2 Pro 14 for futureproof? Right not I can buy a M1 Pro refurbished for 700 Euros less than M2 Pro (they are 2500 Eur base model here)
mac is crazy
i was interested in switching from windows to mac this year but after reviewing the specs for the price its not worth what they are asking for when they are better options from windows with same specs for a fair price. i was comparing prices on amazon between windows and mac to make sure i was making a satisfying purchase with a budget of 1000$ usd.
Edit: I never got the mac
#M2 - great video thanks for the honest review! With the M2 Pros releasing on Tuesday, this might be a difficult decision for a lot of people.
With the M2 Air now regularly on sale, I don't think it will be that hard. The base model at around $1000 (a sale I've seen quite a bit lately) is a GREAT value.
Thanks a lot for watching! Yeah I figured :/!
Great video honestly was very informative but I’m still confused on which I should get, I’m barely getting into video editing on iMovie with my old MacBook Pro but I struggle cause it starts to over heat and shut down so I’m thinking of getting a new MacBook but I’m not sure which one I should get. Can you help? 😅
2:05 you watching trial by fire 😍😍
The colour grading on this video is soo good
haha thats all Jan!
#M2 - Love the video! I bought the M2 MacBook Air when it came out coming from a gaming windows laptop. Being a CS student it’s great to have great battery life and an OS that doesn’t break as often as Linux. Comparing it to my friend’s mb air m1 I can say the only difference is design and keyboard. The rest is pretty similar and both are great computers. I’d try to go for the M1 if you find it cheap, although in Europe the market has less sales. Not running hot in my experience, unless you charge it and use a lot of staff at the same time.
Thanks a lot for sharing! And I second this when it comes to Linux. I love the OS but its a pain sometimes... I only used it for networking stuff
