- Take a quick tour around my haunted dollhouse. I have been making, collecting and altering miniatures since I was a little kid. This dollhouse has been a Halloween passion project for years. Next year, I'm planning to add more! Happy Halloween! xo Cathie and Steve

It aint relaxing to me...i want to jump out of a window...but. it is fun...i have one i just finished (Real Good Toys, p a inted lady,...my second house,)...you cant get in a hurry with them...thats for sure..but done correctly. They are beautiful...furnishing one is fairly expensive and time consuming...which is why i enjoy these videos by.these talented ladies...(I wish they were my neighbors...they'd probably run when they saw me coming to ask for help).
But this lady is one if my faves..I'm quite good on distressing with paint,to show weathering and age..but with these artists, the small details they create can steal the show. Each room in my current house is from a different scary or halloween theme movie (the shining, the Exorcist , It. Rocky Horror,. The kitchen is Texas Chainsaw. The library is Addams Family. But I still love watching

Hey i just noticed
..that IS the painted Lady house, and i bet this artist will agree with me...you gotta have a lot of time and a LOT of patience.
I put my on a large 1 yard square base that will be landscaped last, and then this base with the attached house had a turntable that can handle several.hundred pounds, but can be turned with one finger...saves a lot of
back pain during construction and
furnishing. I have the full system for lighting. But i have found some extremely inexpensive lights that can be placed in various areas using green or orange, purple or white .
Also. Do you change some of the decor to coincide with other holidays? I'd like to see...anyway, i greatly admire your work and artistry...i have watched this several times and will.watch it again.

In my naivete, thought the witches dollhouse my brother started just a few weeks ago, would be ready for Hloween...

Down the rabbit hole of Etsy and Ebay finding OOAK furnishings.....
This is great! I am building a witches cottage and as I am sure you know, it takes time and a lot of work to get everything as you want it. I tend to try out ideas in room boxes first and if I really like them I can transfer the items to the cottage. If I don't, then you can use the roombox for another idea. I tend to try to make most things and occasionally buy items if I know I can't make a similar one for the same or less. I really love whatever you did to age the exterior as it looks amazing. I hope mine turns out a quarter as good...I would be happy with that!

I've never done model building, but I've been interested in it for a while. Are there any materials or sites you'd recommend for getting started? I'm interested in spüky Halloweeny stuff like this, history, and war themed things. I'm looking to get into 1/18, 1/12, and 1/6 in particular.
Omgosh Cathie, I love your haunted dollhouse!! Every little detail is perfect from the Halloween cookies to the carved pumpkins. I love how every room was decorated. Up until a few years ago I had my dollhouse from when I was little. Sadly we had some flooding in our basement and the dollhouse didn't make it. But I have a lot of wonderful memories of playing with it, decorating it, and even making some of the furniture with help from my grandpa. Thanks for sharing your spooktacular haunted house! It's Awesome!!! What a labor of love! I remodeled a Barbie house into a Monster High house. 1:6 scale. I've had so much fun! Mod Podge and I go waaay back and we will never part. LOL

I have the same house and my kid and I are about to start ‘haunting’ it up. Do you know what the make or model of the house is? I would LOVE to repair the round trellis in the front. Ours is missing it.

Real Good Toys. Painted Lady. I bought the same one this artist..online. they're a round 450.00. But Hobby Lobby currently has the unfinished boxed kit for 169.00.
But,its going to take some time to recreate what this lady has done. Just wonderful!!

Im fairly sure her working scale is 1:12. Hobby Lobby and Amazon are great sources..but this artist is so imaginative and resourceful ,if she cant find it, she just magically creates it..

Where did you get your dollhouse from?
I wish I could remember. I bought it at a dollhouse shop here in Los Angeles. I have seen them at amazon and the craft store Hobby Lobby.

The house was from a dollhouse store....it was a kit that we had to put together. Amazon has similar kits.
