Broncos reporter Chris Tomasson on the possibility of a Courtland Sutton trade this offseason:
“It remains to be seen what will happen with Sutton, who has just $2 million of his $13 million contract guaranteed for 2024 and could be a candidate to be traded. But there’s little question the Broncos have improved their receiving corps since Sutton took to social media March 9.”
NFL Analyst David Carr on the possibility of Justin Fields starting over Russell Wilson in 2024:
“I think it’s a real competition because you don’t necessarily [know] where Justin Fields is at, like where his headspace is. How does he feel coming into this thing? If we get the physical dominant athlete that we’ve seen with Justin, I really believe he has some untapped potential as far as throwing the football. I think that in this Arthur Smith offense, the ability of Russ, the experience, I don’t know it necessarily matters as much as maybe it would somewhere else on other teams.”

Id accept it , but I doubt the Broncos would . Sutton is worth a late 3rd early 4th round pick straight up . The Broncos aren’t about to help out Russ or his new team like that they’ll only trade him to us for optimal value or just go elsewhere .

I think Donte Jackson could be a gem. He was always one of the bright spots on a bad Panther’s defense and he always played good football with injuries holding him back. I hope that with him joining a defensive backfield that has guys like Minkah/JPJ/Queen/Wilson/Elliot he won’t have to do all the heavy lifting and that good play/production is all he needs to do on a defense with so many stars

And Russ is in excellent condition. Everybody talks like Russ is old, but Kirk Cousins, who has never been as good as Russ and is coming off a bad injury, just received $200M. He’s older than Russ, as is 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers, who is also coming off a bad injury.

I see the only reason that Fields replaces Wilson is if Russ gets injured. A lot of sports talking heads, talk about by wk 8 he is going to the the starter but also they have the Steelers finish last in the division which is crazy. Russ is rarely hurt, although he was injured in 2021 (throwing hand) and 2022 (knee), he hasn’t suffered any debilitating injuries. He doesn’t have those nagging injuries that other athletes do. He’s not OBJ or Jimmy G. He’s notoriously durable and healthy.

He had the highest TTT in the nfl, part of that is because his scrambling, but he has 0 field vision. He doesn’t see the field at all. Terrible accuracy. He just isn’t a good qb. He is a good athlete, but awful QB
Just seem like the few bears games I watched last year to check his game out. He seemed like any rookie/sophomore going thru them growing pains developing accuracy can be fixed with coaching but is valid flaw I also seen. But I wholeheartedly believe that he was not put into situation to succeed in Chicago. Really didn’t have protection or any safety valve. We can give him the necessary development to succeed and move to the next level
