I lived back then. Not a hippie, but remember it. But got Salvation 1980. I cried much of it too. Great recall of many coming to Christ despite judgement of many.

I hope that many more "good and wholesome" movies will follow because the stuff the entertainment industry has been putting out this last few decades has been awful! My family has been watching the "Little House on the Prairie" series instead of the baloney on regular tv these days. I got rid of all cable tv, it's pretty much all trash at this point.

Excellent movie. We loved it. Chuck Smith and Greg Laurie and other Calvary Chapel pastors were a wonderful part of our growth as young married Christians in the 60’s and 70’s. And, we are still learning from Calvary Chapel pastors today in our old age. The movie is very well done. To God be the Glory!
I was a 'hippie-come-lately'. Born in '54, graduated in '72, I heard about the Jesus Revolution, but we didn't get much first hand here in central Indiana.

We watched it last week. I had mixed feelings about it as did my wife. We were not sure why we were conflicted, but after we posted our experience on facebook, one of my wife's friends shared a radio counseling session Chuck Smith had with a woman who was told either she or her conjoined twins would die if she did not have an abortion. He sadly told her God would not condemn her if she chose abortion in this case. I am sorry, but I can not recommend this movie...we need a RIGHTEOUSNESS REVOLUTION in America!!!

Just an added note to the Movie, Jesus Revolution. I was part of that movement in 1970, I was saved in a Calvery Chapel church and filled with the Holy Spirit one week later. This movie to me left a lot of the true working of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of the unchurched young. In my opinion, it was more of a love story between Greg Laurie and his future wife.
Maybe didn’t tell it all, but loved how the barrier was gone. Like when the older man sat with the youth. He saw their hearts, not the clothes or no shoes. Simple faith again and again. I too got an old car open motor in back of it, Volkswagen prayed over after trying to ‘pop start’ it on flat gravel in rain. After this older couple laid their hands on it and fervently prayed, she told me turn the key! ‘Praise God, started right up.’ Baby in Christ- I’ll never forget. The movie is touching….
