This concept could pick up pace because sometimes they don't work cause they are ahead of their time. Like Google Glasses was introduced before
Dslr or mirrorless of cinema camera can't overlap with mobile concept honestly speaking..... Am a professional a myself....I will say firstly yes it the not the camera but a person defines the language of photography and videography... But then again... For an average consumer...this concept doesn't make sense... At all
Reasons why
1) Auto mode will give a major difference definitely with such a lens... The benefits ends there.
2)Lens true nature and ability unlocks in raw mode and manual mode combination... Which for a normal person which is majority....is not convenient at all..... To take such photo in manual mode... The parameter changes..the way you take photo video changes the way you get result changes.......its an endless hustle......
3) coming to manual control again it looks simple on paper get ur exposure triangle right.....but telling stories and showing visuals along with multiple setting changes dramatically which wont help normal consumer
4)lenses are not cheap
5)Maintenance.... Maintaining such lense is major investment, for example lenses easily catch fungus easily if u don't take proper care and right equipment to maintain it....that lense is gonna shit as soon as u know it.... And cleaning of lense from first party cost is huge... If ur not earning with the gear.... Lense cleaning cost on average 5k in India
So concept is cool.... But it's niche and pointless
And if u say professional can use it....... Oh boy let's say phone cost80-90k let's say 85k …and assuming they give the mount free…. Then to take portrait shot say u buy 50mm leica m series lens...which will cost 1.25lakhs..... Which beings u in the territory of 2lakh+ ... At that strech .... A professional rather get a mirrorless camera ...which will serve him/her better .... And there lot more stuff which makes this complicated.... So cool concept ...but in real world its just doesnt make sense.

Smartphones have come a long way in camera quality but most of them rely on heavy software processing to produce good results. Such a concept is actually useful when the hardware rivals professional cameras but at that stage, it will be an smart camera instead of a phone.

That was a standalone camera looks like a lens pairing with the phone using screen and software of the phone. This one is totally a mirrorless phone camera with detachable lenses

Imagine Xiaomi Dslr under 20k-30k since they are making so many different appliances nowadays.
The problem with modern day tech channels is that they have just become gadget unboxing channels but on the other hand this channel is among the few that actually is a genuine tech channel and every-time I learn something new coming here. Really appreciate your work.👌🏻
If the phone makers want to dethrone camera companies I would suggest the DSLR companies to add a sim tray and we can take calls through the camera itself.

This idea seems to be quite clever. The thing is that pictures can come out as really great depending upon the lenses that were used. I would tweak one thing and will make the glass that protects the sensor removable or slideable and then attach different lenses to get the results I want without the additional glass layer in-between. The end result will be pictures taken by a mid-level DSLR type setup with the additional post-processing done by Xiaomi + Leica. However, for videos it will depend on how well the thermals are gonna be managed.

This reminds me of the Moto Z series phones, which had these various compatible magnetic attachments called Moto Mods, and one of them was a camera. Looked very cool, very well ahead of its time

DSLR are DSLR they are going to stay. But this concept sound very promising for taking smartphone photography to next level because 1) ability to interchange lenses as per choice & big sensor size 2) ability to use the other 2 normal camera (wide and ultra wide) when not carrying the lens

DSLR cameras can never be replaced. Not at the moment. The quality and capabilities of a DSLR cannot be matched with the hardware that a phone uses. As a concept, this is pretty interesting. But as far as replacing a full size camer is impossible.

I think its a great leap forward, because its portability will be better than carrying a dslr or mirrorless camera, should help vloggers/content creators who want to pack lite for their trips and for somewhat general use also. And also it would help many people who love photography and want to learn the basics and enjoy, without forcing them to buy costly gear for sole purpose
Ek reality ki baat hai jaha pe hum 50K ek DSLR pe lagate hai toh toh company sirf DSLR pe Focus and kharch karti hai without any compromise. But jab phone ko DSLR banaya jaye toh pehle wo smartphone banane pe kharch karenge fir dslr ki chizen daalne pe jisme bohot compromises hogi. Fir baaki ka kaam algorithm karega. Toh ye concept wagera concept main theek hai ki lekin practical nahi hai.

I would like to experiment with phone photography first and then move towards a big camera.
