Whitefish Mountain Resort & Glacier National Park: Family Trip Vlog to Montana - July 2021

After traveling to the beautiful Rocky mountains of Wyoming ( • Grand Teton & Yellowst... ) last summer to experience Grand Teton National Park, and Yellowstone National Park, we decided to visit America's Crown Jewel this summer... Glacier National Park.
We started our trip by flying from Houston to Salt Lake City, and driving up to the resort town of Whitefish Mountain. This town is approximately 33 miles from Glacier National park, that translates to roughly 50 minutes by car.
If you are planning a trip to Glacier National Park, you should try to book the entry tickets for the famous Going-To-The-Sun Road on recreation.gov, in order to enter between 6 am to 5 pm. You will need an entry ticket in addition to the park entrance pass. Although the ticket costs just $2 per vehicle, it is almost impossible to find entry tickets, because there are only a limited number of tickets that get sold within minutes when they are open. You can purchase these tickets either several weeks or months in advance, or two days ahead of your visit, when they reopen a few extra tickets at 9:00 am sharp, mountain time zone. Although we tried and tried to book our entry tickets weeks before, and also two days prior, we were unable to. These tickets get sold in seconds. If you are unable to find any tickets, the next best option is to enter the park before 6 am or after 5 pm. We entered the park at 5:30 am and were easily able to get in, because the ticket is only valid between 6 am to 5 pm.
