VW dealer said they will not fix this issue, that it's an issue with Apple, but for some reason everything works flawlessly with Android Auto....

I just installed an aftermarket radio with wireless android auto in my car and it’s honestly worth it for the navigation alone. Keep in mind I installed this in a 2004 Chevy impala so this feature set is well beyond what I’m used to
even if i had it i would only use it while the car is in idle. android auto has games and it only works when the car is idle. So they could make youtube or netflix like that

I remember in 2020, I wsa in a friends car and I experienced Android Auto and I had to have it. I was never getting anew car, but I was willing to upgrade my vehicle's head unit, so I did. And I absolutely loved it Android Auto is game changing and will make drives so much more pleasurable
That would be cool. Also, if you want to listen to CZcams while driving, they should just let you listen to the audio version without the video portion. That's the only thing missing from Android Auto for me.

Yes, I use CZcams music to play podcasts. Can't play the audio from a regular CZcams video on CZcams music though. Can only listen to podcast type videos with CZcams music and that's it.
I love Android auto. Since I use CZcams music it blends in perfectly. It will also read your text messages as well and you can respond to them by voice.
If it simply got rid of the unsafe 'safety pause. Please wait' bullcrap when you're trying to select a contact or song, it wouldn't be so bad. Then it plays a loud beep when it's done. But even rooting multiple phones, I can't turn it off. Basically screwed the pooch for android auto. If you use some basic streaming music service, you probably don't care
They could totally do that. Sometimes when I'm looking for music while driving it'll show "paused for safety" or something similar, so they do know when the car is running or parked.
I bought an aftermarket head unit for a 09 Tacoma that has android 12 built in with android auto. Can watch CZcams, Netflix, hulu, etc. So worth the upgrade.
I don’t think Android auto is bad but I don’t really love it. I think CarPlay (Apple) is cleaner and more simple but you can do a lot of stuff on it still.
Android Auto is cool but my Phone is not running Android Auto properly so the connecting kinda crashes every time and more Customizations would be sick like colors or app icons
If anyone has a Hyundai here and would like to try it,it works really great 👍 (In my experience is a i20) The difference is that instead of having the Spotify screen on the right,as he shows, on the Hyundai i20 you have a round shaped bar on the bottom for whatever music streaming platform you are using(I have used yt music and Spotify)
u can use some others apps but only with a little “computer” that u plug in to the usb and then he split on the car screen a similar android tablet os. that’s works only with touchscreens
my only issue is that its sometimes inconsistent. I have a retrofited android radio and amdroid auto doesn't work unless i turn on my phones gps which is super annoying because the head unit has a gps antenna
Having a system where you need to be in park to play videos is already a thing, and there's a cable you can buy that bypasses it allowing you to play videos while driving because the console always thinks the vehicle is in park, usually why video players are just outright disabled/unavailable
There's some hacks that could help you use CZcams or even mirror your phone screen. I have a AA device that's puts a full Android OS on the screen..to which I put Nova on it first things first lol
I definitely would want them to allow CZcams and Netflix while we're parked. You can switch back to navigation once we're back to driving, etc. Is it because the screen on these cars doesn't have that good of refresh rate that won't be able to play moving pictures well?
You’re lucky you didn’t try the older version (android auto finally got updated to be a lot more functional about 3 months ago). They’ve taken a play out of apple CarPlays book. It was horrible before the update.
How hard do you think it would be to manipulate the system into letting you play CZcams anytime when the feature to play it while parked is accessible? On the contrary, the Toyota corolla from 2010 or so had a screen where you could insert CD or download straight up movies into the system and it would play it no problem They're still quite common in my country and they've never really been in the discussion of why accidents happen. Then again, people that own that corolla do drive very recklessly, not because of the movies i think
I had to delete Spotify because I have youtube music but it defaulted to Spotify for the first year for some reason. I also have a stand for my zfold 5 to sit by my dash, and my phone actually has a bigger screen than my car so sometimes it's the better option for maps

A touch screen would be useless on a Mazda 3. You'd have to lean so much to touch it while driving it would be unsafe. Besides the knob is good enough.
