- Traditional Cossack sword techniques, from the Kuban region of Russia. Still being widely taught and practiced by the Cossack people, both men and women, as an essential part of their culture. Name of the song is "Russian Host / Русская Рать".
Strong women breeds a strong folk. Excellent video
So true
I've actually been watching You and yearning for years. But around Mee everything turns sideways. My Morrigan protects Even that...
True
Thanks.. the very strong words
Amazing video, love bless and respect to all Russians from UK
So happy to see the positive reactions to this video. My grandfather was a Russian Cossack, and I'm very proud to share this ethinicity.
Wonderful culture, rich with tradition .Pretty ,and talented girls.Good video !
Stunning highly skilled adoreable women and a very touchy and inspiring song.
I am blown away
Love and more than respect from Northern Germany
do you look down at South Germany ?
I assume so if he is looking at a map
Beautiful and strong Russian women. Even when I love my country (Mexico) I sometimes think I was born in the wrong country, especially when watching videos such as this one.
Me too I’m mixed race born in Mexico 🇲🇽 but I feel Russian at heart 😊
Might and magic of Cossack. Warm respect and love from Indonesia
Xenia Rogers is just awesome. But my favorite is this girl in the blue dress. Her cheeky smile is more dangerous for a man's heart than her shashka.
And thanks a lot for the title of the song!
You are welcome.
Astrid
Thank-you for up loading such a exellent video showing female skill and craftmanship. What a inspiration to look at, it puts us all to shame that we do not keep up a tradition of such value.
I am a simple norwegian. I was at a wedding in Estonia. Thank Gods it was far away from swordslingers. That said. A woman with high heels stepped through another womans foot. 30min later and more vodksas, everything was okay. Best wedding. 10/10. Would do it again.
Kossacks are crazy. Period. ^_^
Absolutely delightful to watch.
Greetings from Nigeria 🇳🇬 🙌
Absolutely fantastic, incredible swordsmanship...
Every weapon has its own beauty. Want to try this sometimes. Hope that this tradition won't die.
(I am a foreigner, but graduated from Russian school)
Vete ruso a freír espárragos
The Germans feared the 'Night Witches' and female snipers in WWII. I'd be more scared of these beauties. Wow!! Respect from the UK.
Scared of them? Hell I'd like to marry one of these women💘
@@prodigalson6166 And whenever someone starts making trouble you can say: "I'm defending her? Not at all. I defend you."
I would join them . . .
@@prodigalson6166 Don't argue with your wife. 😂
A function of the communist system allowing women to fight.
And they say the perfect woman does not exist.
Of course they exist, they're slav
Underrated Comment :-)
Very, very nice. My compliments from Italy.
I so appreciate strong independent warrior women.. much like within my culture our women are held in high regard and fight alongside our men. Simply beautiful tradition that I hope remains for generations to come.. Much respect from New Zealand
I'm just a little girl , but WHERE?
I'm not included. Your butter will curdle, your bullets won't fire... accident prone me...
In Russia there never was a big division between men and women like in the rest of the world,in world war 2 they fought like normal soldiers
Much respect toward beautiful New Zealand and their natives from Slavic nations :)
I have rarely seen something beautiful like this video
The beauty and skill...mesmerizing.
The mix of strong women (strong as in "if you get any closer, I'll slice you in half") and celebration of tradition is what makes me watch this video time and again. If only the craziest part of the western feminists saw this they would understand what it means to be strong. Amazing video, regards from Spain!
Thank you. And most strongly agree. Astrid.
They're also in support of a gun ban, the only chance a lady has to defend herself, if she doesn't have a sword that is.
The best part is that they are the kindest ppl of the world, they would never hurt you if u respect them!
We've still got a few strong feminine women, and the feminists are intimidated by, and try to tear down, them the most.
@@VoluspaAstrid Hey thanks for the video, awesome. What is the music ? Good choice, very forceful.
The rest of the world knows Cossaks by Micheal Sholokov's books. Love from Ethiopia.
I know Cossacks from Tolstoy’s book. “Kazaklar” is name of the book in Turkish translations.
Extremely impressive display of skill.
And my mom told me it wasnt lady like to toss swords around 😭
From my personal experience, trust me, it is MOST lady like... a true Nordic woman lady like : ))
The Nords and Cossacks would heavily disagree with your mother on that
That´s just sooo cool, girls!
Brilliant.......
I'm part Russian and I recently found out that it is Cossack so now I am taking more interest in the culture
This is amazing on just about every conceivable level...awesome!
We train some twirling in Philippine martial arts but this is fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing :-)
You are welcome. Astrid
@@VoluspaAstrid I'm attempting to do a little research now, but without a little more information my resources are limited. What is the actual name for this tradition? Is it more native to Russia, Ukraine or both? How old is it and is this something that you've studied yourself? Thanks, Curtis.
@@curtis8559 It does not have a specific name, since it is seen by the Cossacs as part of their overall culture. It is like asking a Swede what is the actual name of eating food from plates and bowls tradition? And the separate specific name of drinking liquids from cups and bottles tradition? Or like asking Cossacs of what is the actual name of eating bread, specific tradition? There is no specific name, just for those preferences and actions alone. All are part of overall culture and how things are just done. Shooting is called marksmanship, riding horses is horsemanship and so on. Names that anyone doing the same would use.
True Cossacs just must know and be prepared to do certain things in life. How to handle swords/sabers/firearms and grow up being ready to be a warrior, is an essential part of it.
Those traditions are native to both Russia and Ukraine. The type of dress and overall appearance do differ, as do languages. But all are Cossacs and both even sing songs in each other languages, as part of their overall Cossack culture.
I personally prefer firearms and practice target shooting. Handguns and sniper rifles are my true passion. There, I can say that I know how to use them well. I live and work in different countries during the year, so in some of them I can go to shooting range and use them there and in others I can legally own them and even conceal carry handguns with me on street and to work.
As for swords, I would not be able to do any of those sword moves and would not even try, without a very long and dedicated training first.
@@VoluspaAstrid I'm home now after a short vacation so I apologise for the late response. Thank you very much for such a detailed reply with such a great explanation. Personally I do have a passion for swordsmanship, everything from Olympic style fencing, Japanese swordsmanship and Philippine stick and dagger. So I was very interested in the information that you shared about the Cossack tradition. I also enjoy archery as well as both handgun and precision long range shooting. My preference is the 6.5 creedmoor round. In my state the law allows for concealed carry without requiring a permit. I am fortunate to live about 30 minutes drive from a shooting range that exceeds 914 meters as well as several indoor ranges near my home. Shooting is very popular here. I hope that you have a wonderful day and thanks again for your reply.
these are the people I would trust my life with 😍 the one video in the snow at sunset... such a nice shot
RESPECT!
Now THIS is showing what empowered women are. Stunning ladies.
Beautiful art! Salutations from a Martial Artist in Malaysia. 😉👍
The Russian answer to “Kill Bill” 😉👍🏼👏🏼
Yes, but only KILL BILL is fantastic, and in this video the folk culture is more than 1000 years old.
If only America and Western Europe valued its traditions too!
Thank You for sharing
Love the Pink outfit & The blue one on the lady dancing in the snow!
Both amazing and scary at the same time! Though FWIW, these are amazing, talented women, would love to share life experiences with any one of them!
Bravo!
Beautiful!
All woman are great. But the one wearing black sleeveless dress looked like a warrior princess. Her maneuvering looked so natural rather performance and so intense...Black beauty....
Fantastic!
awesome work........
Very cool!
Nice work! :)
Oh god I feared while watching 😱
I loved those girls ❤️❤️❤️
)))))
Such an awesome culture
A wonderful cultural warrior tradition👍🏼
This is why I love Russia
glory to Russia from Italy
The only way to win these women hearts is to win over them in a swordfight. They're strong, and only stronger men are worthy for them. Much respect for them.
Agreed.
Astrid
.
Bad idea in fact. Real shashka fight is not fancy rapier-style or saber-style fencing. It's "one hit - one corpse" weapon, barely able to block incoming blows. Winner (and the only survivor) will be the one who hits first.
Excellent lovely. Have fun and success.
Strong women breed strong folks, excellent video Kassacki Germanic American. Volupsa/Astrid this is what happens, when I don't make coffee for my girlfriend in the morning.
: )
This is the so-called '4-sided self-defense" in cavalry combat on horseback.
Sehr gut !!!
A sword behind every blade of grass
And even every blade of grass is also a sword.
Great, now i want to get sword and try some technics...
Imagine a beauty like this walking alone in the park at night and some uncomfortable guys appearing to have some "fun" with the lady ... then she pulls these two blades and the next day they find a lot of blood, severed Arms, Heads and legs ... after that this park would be the safest place in town for a woman.
Cool !
I’m in love
Sława!
excellent
Such a weird thing to come across at random, but thank fuck I did. This was truly a delightful sight.
My favorite song on karaoke night.
Woman with sword=unlimited beauty.
I think I'm in love with all of them
Very nice video. Song sounds like kiss kiss from tarkan.
Wotze Schiller This sounds NOTHING like kiss kiss 😂

In regards to the comment below, of where some individual have asked a question of you Astrid and then have unsubscribed, after you took your time and effort to explain, in detail (a woman that has 15k subscribers) and explained NOT in any offensive manner, some of the things to him. Dear, lovely and intelligent Astrid, you can always and for as much as you want: explain, educate and just share whatever of your opinions with me. I will only be honored.
Folkvangr Runen,
yeah, that's understood , but at least Voluspa should try to post video which should be based on real events or facts , not a Sci-Fiction . She needs to come down to Earth and study subject first , as she just spread confusion around .
MrDedushkoMoroz If I "spread confusion" and "need to study subject first", then why you watch my channel?
Hello voluspa/Astrid, just don't mind this guy saying negative things about your post. He is just ignorant.
@@juliusangawa802 Thank you for your support.

Wielding a mele weapon and still look feminine as f*ck. Respect!
Go girls go !!!!!
I would hit myself in the face so hard if I tried this
More like loose a face. Some who are not them, have lost a head, when they have "tried" a few moves
What a beautiful woman
At 2:22 if anybody turns that sword into a lightsaber, she becomes a Jedi or Sith instantly. The dress is so cool. 😉👍
I wish I could learn to do that
I am in love... Those women are awesome..
This is not to KILL BILL, it's not to the cinema or fantastic, this video the folk culture is more than 1000 years old)))
If one of these women play a Timelord in "Dr Who" It would be sooooo great !!! I bet, that Amy from the 5th Doctor will get defeated against these Cossack girls.
*chin hits the floor*
Hi I love it so much , do you have the link for better resolution. Thx
Sorry, no

.
Beauty and the beast.
Wow, Russian women are tough and beautiful.

Ok I gotta ask.
Where do you start if you want to teach yourself this kind of dance?
