Swissgerman speakers normally use Sion although it's the french name. The same is with Fribourg/Freiburg, we mostly use Fribourg, because Freiburg is in Germany
Swiss French did actually simplify quatre-vingts-dix which the French and Canadians use also the French colonies in Africa and Asia into nonante which is also said in Belgium
I think, the used phrases are as simple as possible without complex and deep language structures so that everyone understands it. For us as „Swiss german“ people it’s quite difficult to understand 4*20+10 because we have to do maths every time we listen to a french number, so it’s simpler to simplify it. ^gp
En fait c’est seulement le Canton du Vaud où il se trouve toute la simplification: 70 = septante, 80 = huitante, 90 = nonante. Pour Genève, Jura et Neuchatel, il y a toujours quatre-vingt, malheureusement. Je pense qu’en Belgique, c’est la même chose.
