In what world is 4000 a month a low income? 😂😂😂 social media has totally warped peoples perception of money Maybe it is an american thing. In Germany the average income(after taxes) is 2.244€ (roughly 2.400 dollars). A monthly income of 4.000 dollars (3.700€) puts you in the richest 10%😂
It’s all relative to the cost of living; my rent is going up by over 25%, so I’m looking for a new place and if you don’t want to live with a roommate, the average cost for a 1 bedroom apartment (that I’ve seen in my search) is around $2000 a month; my utilities are around $350 a month and my energy is around $150 a month (both way higher than the city I lived in before), so that means you need to budget around $2500 a month on living expenses, which is recommended to be only 28% of your gross income (very difficult to achieve). So, if I was making only $1000 a month, I would be fine with it if the cost of living was under $300 a month on housing (assuming everything else is adjusted by this same ratio)
It’s definitely an American thing because that would be considered lower income when the cost of living is roughly that amount a month, living is expensive out here

My most important savings for this year is my emergency fund, pet savings, and a new car fund. However, I also would like to start saving for a moving fund because I’d like to eventually move into a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom apartment if I can afford it and I’d like my dad to come move with me because he’s old and I don’t like the idea of him being alone out where he is. I’d also like to start saving for a Black Friday Clothing Shopping Spree and a Travel savings since I don’t ever travel. I’d like to have the funds to do so when I do get the chance to travel.
