  • Hi friends,
Dior just released their new Dior Forever Glow Star Filter and I thought it would be nice to do a roundup of the most popular illuminating bases. In this video I wanted to show you closeups and swatches of the new Dior Forever Glow Star Filter, Chanel Les Beiges Healthy winter glow primer, Westman Atelier Liquid super loaded, and last but not least n 1 de Chanel skin enhancer.
It looks like 2024 is going to be the year of the glowing skin. In my opinion this is a trend that was first started by the one and only Charlotte Tilbury :) It looks like all brands are trying to create their own version of the iconic Hollywood star filter. In the intro of the vide you will be able to see swatches of some of the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood star filter.

Other similar products are the Heimish Artless Glow Base that came out in 2018, it has SPF 50 and works for all skin types I'd say. It's an awesome product. Also extremely samey looking to the new Chanel are the MAC strobe creams who are a million years old by now 😊 I personally can't tell a difference

Thank you Angela. I'm a bit sceptical vis à vis primers. I feel if I'm buying a good foundation, it shouldn't need an additional product. Also, at 56, as you once pointed out: every additional layer is a hostage to fortune 😅 Of course, I'm lucky: I have normal skin and a normal life. My makeup usually stays put, and it doesn't really matter if it doesn't 😂. Having said all that: I bought a bottle of an illuminating primer from a cheap brand here, called Catrice, just to see what all the fuss is about 😂. So far, I've only dared put it on my cheekbones. 😅 Best wishes, Anne

I’m so glad I purchased backpack for the Chanel primer. I bought the frost white and the icy beige and I really like it( I only opened the frost white so far).
It is sheer and really nice on the skin.
I agree about the skin enhancer . I use it as a highlighter on the cheekbones.

Hi Angela! Love Chanel primers ! They look and feel amazing! I also use it when I go out only. No need on every day basis. I am also interested in Dior Glow Maximizers( but they are not in US yet).

I have tried the Chanel Healthy winter glow primers and I have tried a good number of primers out there. The thinner primers like the Chanel Healthy Winter Glow primers can be used as a no makeup makeup product or as a primer as its intended use. I don’t think a primer is necessary but it does help if you take your time with it. Thank you, thank you for your insight, Angela! I hope Angela and all of you have a great day! 😄🥰❤️💕🙏🏻☕️💐

Hi Angela I like the new Chanel winter glow primer as well as the soft pink. But the one that I have been using for years is Guerlaine pure gold I don’t even know if it is a primer to give glow to the complexion but it works for me. The other one is by Sisley “instant glow primer “. I don’t hear any one talk about this one. I do love my face to have a glow and hardly ever powder. Really enjoy your video today. ❤❤🥰

I love the Chanel and agree it’s the perfect formula for a healthy glow without too much shine and it does not emphasize imperfections. I got a backup from Asia and am happy about that. Even before Charlotte launched the Hollywood Flawless Filter she introduced Wonderglow. Thats an all over highlighting primer with a similar light consistency to the Chanel, but it is a deeper color - and only that one shade - and I prefer the frosty shades of the Chanel for my fair skin.

Hi dear Angela, looking beautiful!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩For me not necessary, i prefer to wear highlighter products only subtle, when ending makeup routine, a little bit on my cheekbones, just a little bit, and only the most subtle ones. Also love Westman Atelier, however not this one i'm attracted to, just a simple stick, also a Chanel stick in Dragee, a Suqqu stick and i forget some maybe, powder highlighter, only the more "glow from within" type of products, like CDP 18 (hope it comes back this shade!), the latest TF powder highlighters, the champagne one and the light pink one, etc. But loved to see this overview, thank you Angela, have a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘

The more Dior I use, the more I love the brand….next foundation I buy will be the Forever Glow. However, I’m not tempted by the Glow primer. I never got the hype over the CT product, to me, it was just an unnecessary layer that made my makeup look heavier. This year I found a great sunscreen that is moisturizing and every foundation I put over it looks amazing, with a little touch of glow, not too much, not too little, just right! I appreciate your excellent reviews, though!

@@debgilbert3206 it’s Tula Protect + Glow….kind of pricey, so I stocked up when they had a sale. If you don’t mind a light fragrance, which it has…I wish it didn’t. Another good one that I just bought this week that is reasonably priced is Skin 1004 Hyalu-cica water tint serum. I believe it’s a Korean brand, under $20. I saw it in a few YT reviews and decided to try it, moisturizing without being so much so that after a few hours it comes thru your makeup and makes your skin look greasy. I like the Tula one better, though.

I was looking at the Diorsnow line also! In particular the SPF, because it had SPF 50+ PA++++. Growing up in a snowy area, I know the snow (and water) definitely reflect back the sunshine, so I always use SPF year round.....although now I live in an area with Rainy Winters.

Hi Nancy, I have tried the previous products from the Dior Snow line. I was not a fan of the old snow SPF because it was leaving unpleasant white cast. I'm curious to see if they fixed that.

I went to buy it yesterday when i got the Byanze crystille quad on Chanel U.S but the one i wanted was gone and Nordstrom is almost impossible as soon as it releases it is gone people are buying multiple backups obviously..lol i might just get whatever i can find instock next time .

I think u would love Givenachy skincare glow foundation it's more skin tint like. I like a light sheer coverage if u can stand fragrance it is beautiful and was my number 1 for along time then I tried the Chanel water fresh tint and that is my new favorite complexion product. If u want a affordable drugstore option the Neutragena sensitive skin serum foundation is really nice too and has no frangerance idk why it's called a foundation it's light coverage at most but really nice for a drugstore option the only complexion product I use from the drugstore.
