ISLE OF RUM DAY TRIP FROM MALLAIG | Kinloch Castle, Rum | Eating out in Mallaig 2024

- Cal Mac ferry to Rum for the afternoon on a Friday in June from Mallaig. Booked tickets online £10.30 return. A leisurely walk around Rum seeing Kinloch Castle, the Otter Hide and many other interesting sights. Let me know if you've been or are considering it. Lots of great hikes there but I wouldn't be doing that on my own.
Great video, on my list of places to go, bit of trivia, Kinloch castle was built using sandstone from my home village of Corrie on the Isle of Arran, the sandstone quarry now long closed and a small housing estate there now. 🙂

@@IonaMacinnes Aw way to much to see and do here to choose one, everything from eating, drinking, low walks, high hill walks, coastal stuff, castles, dinosaur footprints, to name just some of the stuff to do, but maybe see if you can find the doctors bath in Corrie, very well engineered by the same quarry men who cut the stone for Kinloch castle, very quirky

Im glad you enjoyed it. It's so good that I can go, film it and show you so you can see all the places. Canna and Mallaig next, then back to Vietnam for some Hoi An lanterns and tailoring. Ix

Fab video, you make me smile! What a huge shame about the castle, accomodation there for so many! How weird it's still full of furniture. Looking forward to Eigg, I saw a docu about it, what a great story. Pity all the isles are not owned by the people who live on them. I think there's one for sale now that has farms & people living there, horrible that someone can just come along & buy the whole isle, ugh.

@@IonaMacinnes definitely not Welsh lol I spend some time in Wales with my kids Originally I'm from London but I've been in Scotland climbing its beautiful mountains for nearly 50 years and will stay here forever thanks for replying and many many more happy trips

Great videos. Spoiled to some extent by poor audio quality. Treat yourself to a decent microphone with noise cancelling and you will see a big improvement.
